This is my initially SSD, and I have a mid 2009 Uni Macbook Pro. So far it has been a nice upgrade. Installation was easy, and no challenges so far. Would advocate to any person looking for a good speed improve. None SSD's may possibly be a little high-priced still, but this drive wasn't to high in my opinion. The efficiency boost is effectively worth it, and I am loving the silent operation.

It's a SSD, we all know the benefits they offer you over standard HDD's. If you don't then google it.~Noticeably faster than the SSD it's replacing (though not by substantially) Value/GB is still an situation with a lot of buyers searching to upgrade, but obtaining utilized an SSD in my rig when I first built it, I can't consider myself going back to standard HDD's. Microsoft's recent service pack for Windows 7 brought my Corsair X32 SSD to the brink of full capacity. I needed a lot more space so it was time to upgrade. It was a toss up in between this, the Mushkin Callisto, and the OCZ Vertex 2. All three supplied virtually the identical read/write speeds so the deciding aspect was cost truly. Newegg had a ฤ instant rebate plus free shipping on the day I ordered so it was the apparent selection. Arrived rapid as usual. Went in and recognized devoid of a hitch. Utilized Acronis True Image 2011 to clone my X32 over to the F115 and every little thing worked like a charm. Now my OS has additional space to roam and grow.

This drive is fast as hell and is a excellent worth for the funds. None however, the size I guess but that is due to the fact Im low cost. But 115Gb is plenty of space for an OS and some programs. If you are on the wall about obtaining an SSD over a common HD I would advocate finding the SSD. I installed Photoshop in below a minute. And loading Windows 7 took no time at all and it set itself up to perform with the drive.

For the price tag it's the best upgrade I did to my program. Windows 7 64bit installed actually rapid, everything's truly snappy now. Not Corsairs fault but apparently specific Gigabyte boards have an problem with SandForce based SSD's exactly where intelligent command would fail upon boot. It's Absolutely nothing main, and you would need to have to update your bios for it to work. I was making use of f12 bios on GA-EX58-UD5 and had to update to F13k mainly because of this.. operates excellent now! Substantially more quickly then my WD RE3 on Raid0

Very quickly Claims up to 280MB/s read and up to up to 270MB/s write. I've applied a couple unique benchmark tools. While making use of HD Tune the hdd will not score higher than 215 MB/s read. Not certain if this is usual, but I was expecting a tiny superior performance based on claims. Also, several men and women, like myself, are getting to edit the program registry to allow AHCI mode, or you will get a BSOD soon after the technique POST

It's an SSD, and reasonably inexpensive. It depends on what you're looking for. ***NOTICE -- this is a 25nm SSD, and not a 34nm. It's odd drive size is to account for the "over provisioning" of the drive. It's component number ends in the "-A" which is Corsair's way to letting customers know it is the 25nm model. Unlike OCZ's poor handling of rolling out 25nm.Check out Corsair's site/blog for a lot more facts. I cannot speak for the general high quality of this drive -- just letting those out there know that it is a 25nm.

This is my very first ssd and now I want yet another =). Usually had great luck with corsair items (using ps, mem, h50 cooler) and right after many reviews I decided on their ssd as nicely. Simple install, no problems, cold boot into win7 in 16secs (was 34 on older 7200rpm hd). ATTO 4mb read 279.03 mb/s - write 268.43 mb/s. Super close to advertised specs. Quite pleased so far. Wanted the larger drive space to fit some games as properly. Have win7 ult + 2 big 15gig+ games and still 60 gigs left.Aware this was corsair's newer 25nm ssd. Came with 2.1a firmware. No update needed. None but Constantly quickly order processing and shipping from newegg. Ordered late night on 3Ǘ and had the item in hand by 10am on threeǙ.

Cons: At the time price, paid 199 for it; thought it was pretty high. Not sure how much Sata3 makes a difference but this is plenty fast for what I'm using it for and it's only Sata2

Pros: Very fast, Stable have had 0 issues with any of the sandforce drivers. I have also redone Win7 a couple times and didn't see any errors BSOD.

I'm using this drive with a Asus p8p67pro I5 2500k. Windowns boots extremely fast and all my programs are lightening quick. By far the best upgrade I have done on my rig. Definitely recommend an SSD if your budget allows.

Fairly great read and write speeds... Much more quickly than my 2nd gen 80gb intel ssd. Comes up as 107gb in windows (because of more than-provisioning and redundancy). The three.5" drive adapter that came with doesn't perform with the drive rails for my case. There are a few faster sata3 drives out now, but at a 50% cost premium. For general duty this drive rocks. Following Win7, my common desktop software program, VS2010 and CS5 and all updates, I nonetheless have 55GB open. Also, get familiar with "mklink /D"

Tops at 200 MB/sec write / 195 read. Still nearly twice as fast as my former WD HDD (Caviar Black, 64 MB.Got W7 loading time boosted from 3 min up to 38 seconds with the Corsair F115GB2-BRKT-A after re-install.Will buy again.I might need BIOS update. Originally I had bought this to quell the urge to build a new pc.Well, after seeing how much of an increase a simple SSD upgrade gave me I decided to go for a full new right with a Sata 3 SSD and all the works...But for anyone looking to significantly speed up an older system, or even a good one, an SSD is a GREAT way to go even if it is only for the OS and a few commonly used apps. Just be sure to google settings to prolong the life.

Cons: - 25nm NAND instead of 32nm means slightly shorter lifespan (still 8+ years)

Pros: - extremely fast- solid state (duh)- Corsair brand and support

Did a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro x64 on the drive. Windows installer aligned the drive properly automatically. This is my first SSD and I am very impressed... so much so that it is hard for me to consider building a new system without a SSD as it's OS drive.Apps load instantly, game load times are significantly reduced... All with zero noise and close to zero heat output.Great buy!FYI: There are a number of Windows 7 tweaks that can be done to improve performance and prolong the lifespan of SSDs. I would seriously recommend doing a hour or so's worth of reading on the web to educate yourself about SSDs. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-03-11 11:56 AM

So this is my first experience with an SSD drive on Win7 x64. I had an initial issue when resuming from hiberation/sleep I would get a BSOD F4 stop error. This was worrysome at first since everything points to an issue with the Sanforce controller firmware but this drive I received from NCIX had firmware 2.1a which happens to be the latest. After some investigative work it turns out that the BSOD is due to a bad Intel Rapid Storage Technology (ICH) storage driver release 10.1.0.1008, so DO NOT USE THIS VER 10 DRIVER!!! Stick with the previous v9 release. The latest intel driver seems to have some regression, it also affects users who have a Pioneer SATA DVD drive (BSOD upon boot after resume/sleep too) - I found this out after buying a new Asus DVD before running into the SSD/BSOD issue, so this was to no fault of Corsair. Now that the kinks are worked out this drive offers rock solid performance at prices comparable to OCZ, but I just read far too many negative reviews of OCZ Vertex2/Agility 2 products to be convinced to use OCZ for my first purchase - a decision that I do not regret. HD tune performance of this Corsair F115 averages 219.5MB/sec (peak 238.7MB/sec) reads with 0.1ms access time. As much as I wanted an Intel SSD drive in the same price range they offer a little more than half of the performance of the competitors.

- Installation of Win 7 64bit went smoothly- Upgraded Gateway P-6831 FX from HDD to SSD- WEP for harddrive performance is 7.7- Installation of Windows took approx. 40 min (a bit too long for an SSD) but I was in no rush. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-11-11 11:46 PM
