Comes with a bracket, no SATA cable, but kinda guessed it. Listen to that story: Booted my new setup with this SDD (M4A89PRO) and a USB 3. Live CD. The boot time of the live cd soon after post was of three second (never hoped it would be that fast), the installation of UBUNTU ten.ten took 3 MINUTES! Only had time to fill in the computer name, my username and password, and the file copying was currently carried out... like WOWDownloading the updates was three time far more time consuming than the actual OS install... Boots in 3 sec following post. Will never ever go back to common HDDs... none

-Insanely rapidly OS boot time, I go from boot screen to homepage in beneath 10 sec. -Value is the only issue that makes SSDs unattractive. But when you use 1, you'll by no means go back to a HDD for your OS drive. Not positive what else someone would want to use a SSD for apart from OS booting, but it will perform no matter what you require it for. Just buy it.

Boots well beneath Win 7 64 Pro for a brand new desktop. Time to boot 15 seconds compared with 40s using a 500 GB Caviar. It has TRIM. It also worked extremely properly on a old Intel Board of 2003 that supported Sata I. Windows XP Pro booted in 20 seconds compared to 4 minutes on that old Board. This is a perfect plug and play drive. 32GB is also smaller for Win 7 Pro. I place all my other application on a second drive but just possessing this as a boot drive leaves 5 GB left of cost-free space. I've just purchased another one and will mount it as Raid0 so I'll have 60GB as a Raid0 boot drive for Win 7 64 Pro. It is supposed to be faster and that will leave me with some further 38GB to put some applications I use often. This is the finest way to improve your system speed as a herd drive is a speed bootleneck. I've never been disappointed by Corsaire goods.

Decent functionality. Worked effectively for practically 7 months. No compatibility troubles. All the apparent positive aspects of a SSD as long as it works. Failed inside 7 months. Shut down the computer and the next day it would not recognize the drive. Did lots of testing and nothing could study it anymore. Nova is a fitting name. Immediately after numerous failures of Corsair items, I am now swearing them off. I'm not one to swear off a brand primarily based on a single failure as I've provided Corsair numerous chances. I hoped my Corsair RAM experiences from years ago would be a issue of the past, but as far as I can tell, Corsair makes unreliable hardware. I'm not hard on my computing gear and have employed other brands with much higher achievement.

Great drive. A little small for Windows 7 install and accompanying application but it fits. And its quick @ ㅑ seconds from energy on to windows 7 usable. Don't have the benchmarking numbers offhand but they have been more than acceptable. Had to do some tinkering with Windows 7 setup and my onboard raid arrays so that they had been both noticed by windows setup, otherwise worked completely. Make certain to setup your windows page file to another mechanical drive!!! Not undertaking so will kill an SSD drive very promptly. Mine is setup on a gaming machine so I'm not as well worried but it may be worth your time to setup your temp world wide web files to another drive or reduce the size that windows sets aside for it too.

Low-cost drive, has TRIM, curb stomps Raptors in smaller random study/writes. Yes, it is a bit small. Nonetheless, it hosts Windows 7,Office 2007, and a few applications for information manipulation with more than 10 gigs to spare. 4Kb write speed seems to lag behind OCZ Onyx. I haven't seen any benchmarks of these drives however, therefore why I'm writing this evaluation. I plugged the new drive into a SATA II connector and formatted it in Windows 7 Ultimate under default settings. I need to mention that I'm making use of AHCI mode and not legacy IDE. I then ran CrystalDiskMark 3. working with 1000 MB runs of information 5 times per test. CrystalDiskmMark was set to write random data (default setting).Sequential read: 187.two MB/sSequential write: 56.96 MB/s512Kb read: 153.8 MB/s512Kb write: 53.57 MB/s4Kb study: 20.66 MB/s4Kb create: six.200 MB/s4Kb read with queue depth 32: 53.18 MB/s4Kb write with queue depth 32: 6.109 MB/sI don't genuinely have the time or capability to run a far more extensive set of tests testing it's TRIM functionality, and so forth. Sorry.

On the Corsair net web-site there is a forum that has a lot of information on how to configure windows so it doesn't fill up an SSD.

I purchased two of these, one for my Gigabyte T128M netbook and one particular for my HTPC. I could not beleive how quickly they are. My netbook feels like a totally various machine (running Win7). And my HTPC boots from cold to usable screen in roughly 20 seconds. Shutdown is a blazing five seconds or much less. None. Wonderful value (got them from newegg but for much less that they are selling correct now). They run incredibly cool compared to a typical hd. Mouting kit functions like a charm. I want I had ordered one particular a lot more for my household office computer when value was reduce, but will possibly get it anyway. Worth every penny.

Coming from a SATA II 7200 HDD, this is a big leap. I purchased this drive mostly for my new upgrade to Win7 and it installed the OS incredibly quickly. I'd adore to see what a larger finish SSD could achieve, contemplating this 1 is at the reduced end of the spectrum. I have been wanting to dive into the SSD world for a although, and this was a fantastic stepping stone. I can't wait for the storage to boost at the costs drop in the future. The two.five" to three.5" drive bay adapter did not match my P182's bays. Quite disappointing, but practically nothing a rapid quit at a B&M shop can't fix. I wish I had opted for additional storage. Thirty-two gigs doesn't go really far these days...

If I try to reboot, I get a message after my RAID controller bios loads saying "Reboot and pick a proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any crucial" If I warm reboot, it shows this message.

QuietFastCool Fewer Gigs/$ than conventional disks I wanted a quiet boot device for my media Pc (Mythbuntu server and client). I also wanted to to not make significantly heat, to further minimize cooling fan needs -- and therefore noise.First method was making use of a huge CF card with a SATA to CF adapter, but wasn't satisfactory either in terms of speed or the reliability of SATA to CF adapters. This is a a lot better strategy. The size is just fine for booting a media Pc -- media is stored on a NAS elsewhere, and the price is reasonably priced compared to significantly larger SSDs.NB, media Computer boots so fast now I had a race condition difficulty mounting samba shares. The system started so quick that the shares didn't get mounted just before they were required and the boot process hung up. Had to add a "nobootwait" to the mount command. Now I see a warning fly by, but by the time I'm prepared to do anything all is properly.

Read efficiency is great for an SSD of this price tag. Games that use Texture Streaming systems like Crysis will advantage with drives like this due to the virtually non-existent look for time.It has TRIM help. If you want an SSD, you will want a drive with assistance for TRIM, so that overall performance doesn't go down the tubes as it fills up. Recall only Windows 7 has help for TRIM. Compose efficiency is decent, big file writes are finest, little writes can bring about a small stuttering.Annoying bracket, because SSD's lack moving components, I just taped it to the side of my comp case. You won't get a lot on this drive. I got windows 7 and Crysis to match with only a few GB's left. If you want to preserve your whole library of games on an SSD, you'll will need a significantly larger a single. With this one, you may have to swap games. Do NOT disable the paging file with an SSD. A lot of apps are developed to use the paging file and will crash without having it. Disabling it will not boost functionality.Do NOT disable Superfetch, unless you have incredibly little RAM (under 2GB). Superfetch will still enhance overall performance when loading frequently applied apps, even with SSD's.Do NOT disable Prefetching. It does not cache stuff in RAM, it just index's often utilised app's DLL places. The prefetch folder seldom is more substantial than 4MB.Move the pagefile to a Difficult Drive. Not only will the pagefile promptly kill an SSD due to the substantial amounts of writes expected, you'll get a lot of stuttering due to smaller writes being an area most SSD's suck at. If you want overall performance, get a RAM Disk for the pagefile.Don't disable Texture Streaming Systems in games like Crysis, or force preloading of game data. The SSD will serve up information incredibly rapidly on the fly, forcing every little thing into RAM will just waste RAM space, for a quite minimal excellent boos

I have four of these in a RAID array that I use for XP and all my computer software. It's a music production process with an AMD Phenom II 965 that I overclock to roughly 4 GHz with 4 gigs of RAM (I don't program on utilizing Win7 anytime quickly so any a lot more than 4 is a waste). Motherboard is an ASUS M4A785T-M/CSM and I have an SIS add-on RAID card for a secondary RAID platter disc data array. It's definitely Quickly. Program boots from 14-17 seconds on average (after BIOS initializes). I can actually use BFD2 with no it stuttering or crashing Cubase just about every time I attempt to add an additional track or increase its RAM usage past 1.5GB. For a pro audio rig it's the only way to go - your samples and VIs can stream from SSDs far more quickly so there are far less errors. The most I can squeeze out of them even obtaining performed every single tweak ever conceived and even a couple of new ones was 511 MB/sec. reads. It does get better than advertised writes at least in RAID combination. Max compose 395 MB/sec. I've never ever tested any other SSDs on this motherboard so it could be a slow bus that's causing the overall performance reduction. Would be pretty sweet to see figures like 800MB/sec. for only about 跾 (I paid a small further to mount them in a five.25" hot swap enclosure to save space). That being said, I'm very happy with the drive's efficiency all round and at this price tag (I purchased mine when they have been 贵) you'd be crazy to overlook it.

purchased two of these and set them in raid for a total of 64gb, a lot for the operating system and the games that I play the most. Have an additional disk drive for all my storage & programs. These items will boot windows in about 30 sec and I get pleasure from that I can instantly browse the internet and start out up my music right after typing in my password at the login screen, shut down is even quicker. Corsair forums have nice instructions on how to setup the drives & windows files so you are not continuously writing temporary files to these. Wish they were more affordable, would really like to replace my storage drives with some more when they drop in value.Pc was acting up when going into sleep mode, would not commence back up, acting wierd. Just disabled it and have not had any matters considering that. Not positive if it was the drives making the issues.
