Cons: not the fastest SSD on the market

Pros: fast and reliable
Comment:
I've been running this SSD in my system 24/7 for over a year now and haven't had a single issue with it. It may not be the fastest on the market but it definitely gets my vote for reliability.

Pros: Small, easy to manoeuver
Comment:
Very good, fast, can't argue with that !Do what it's announced to do, not so much for storage ( of course ! ) Would buy again for future builds.Dont miss this if it's under a 100$ ! Raid 0 would be hell-fast with those.Gets on windows 7 very fast from the boot. Makes the video gaming experience so much more seamless and fun.

Cons: the label side actually faces the mounting screws when installed in a normal HDD tray. This does not affect performance in any way

Pros: Fast, trouble free and reliable. Speeds are actually slightly faster than advertised
Comment:
Obtained this SSD recently from NCIX for under $100 with free shipping. At that price, I cannot complain. This was used to replace an older Kingston V100 SataII 64GB. For those curious about packaging, this comes in a sturdy cardboard box with a formed plastic tray to hold the SSD. The drive itself is wrapped in an antistatic bag. No extra hardware, mounting screw, case mounting tray, cables or software is included. At the sub-$100 price range, there were several 120-128GB SSD's available. The Kingston V300's and Adata's based on Sandforce, the proprietary Samsung 840's (non-pro) with TLC memory and these Crucial/Microns with MLC and Marvell Controllers. My Kingston never had an issue since day 1 but it gave an AS SSD score of only 86-88 (iastore 86; msahci 88). Kingston chips and controllers have been all over the place and they wont even completely identify the claimed 19nm Toshiba(?)Toggle mode MLC's used in the new V300's. I've read issued with SandForce controller-based SSD's and whether these issues have been solved or not, I would probably wait till there is a more definitive consensus. Non-pro Samsung 840's are high on top of my list but I'm still not sold on the TLC longevity. Granted, I would probably need or have long replaced the TLC drive before I go anywhere near the actual life expectancy, but a little bit of assurance doesn't hurt. So marvell + MLC it is ! The CT128 M4 crucials were definitely a big step up with an AS SSD score of 658 using amd_sata on an 880G based motherboard. From Crucials' website: Model CT128M4SSD2unformatted capacity: 128GBsequential read (up to) 415 MB/sec on Sata 6Gb/ssequential write (up to) 175 MB/secRandom 4K read 40,000 IOPSRandom 4K write 35,000 IOPSMEASURED performance using AMD_SATAFw: 070H sequential read 482.39 MB/secsequential write 192.81 MB/secRandom 4K read 55,012 IOPSRandom 4K write 34,279 IOPSAs you can see, only the 4K write falls slightly below claimed specsData migration from Kingston SSD to Crucial SSD was done using Seagate Disc Wizard (by Acronis). I did not do a full reinstall to see if there would be any adverse issue and figured I would only reinstall if any issues crop up. So far none !The only weird thing is how crucial has the blue M4 label on this drive. On most SSD's that I've used/seen/installed, the mounting holes are on the bottom side of the drive with the label facing out. With the crucial M4 that I received, the drive actually mounts with the sticker/label facing towards the screws (this means that you wont see the fancy blue sticker when mounted normally in the case). Mounting it the other way around would be a bit more involved since the Sata and power connectors are oriented in reverse. This does not affect drive usability or performance in any way, shape or form.Overall, the drive performed better than expected. No issues were encountered during data migration and performance has seen a big bump over the SataII only Kingston SSD. Definitely a highly recommended product.

This is the best SSD drive due to its great reliability and decent transfer speeds. It may not be the fastest out there, but it has a proven track record. During my usage over the past year, I have never experienced a BSOD.

I bought this drive over the Samsung 840 (non pro)because of all the positive reviews and people swearing by the reliability of this crucial m4. I have no complaints, except I'm stuck using it on an older X58 build.

I havent had any problems with it so far, though i do hear there are some firmware updates that should be installed.Fits where it should like most drives, doesnt seem like it is cheaply built or anything.would definatly pick up another one if they go on sale

Cons: Too small, too expensive

Pros: Fast boot up times, awesome for video gaming
Comment:
I've been using this on a dual boot Windows7/Linux Mint setup for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it. Makes boot up times virtually disappear. Linux Mint just recently optimized it's code for this drive and it's staggering how fast it boots up and shuts down. I primarily use Windows for video gaming and my Crysis 2 load times were cut down by about two thirds when I switched from SATA III to this SSD. Makes the video gaming experience so much more seamless and fun. Of course it's a bit of a pill to swallow paying 10x the price per gigabyte over a SATA drive and having to manage small OS partitions again but I still think if you're a video gamer the benefits still out weigh the 'cons'.I look forward to this technology getting into bigger drives for cheaper prices.

Honestly there is probably very little to make this stand out from other Sandforce SATA3 SSD's of the same capacity.I bought this to replace the HDD in my laptop. It has vastly improved the start-up time. My laptop is basically silent now. I picked up about 45 minutes of battery life over my daily usage (i'm rather conservative with power though) which worked out to about a 10% increase, if you watching videos or surfing the internet I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make I predominantly use my laptop for reading, note taking, and creating and editing documents. One of the main reasons I decided to this upgrade was increased durability. My laptop gets hauled around in my backpack, and SSD's are more shock resistant than an HDD.Install was easy and I've had no issues what so ever with the computer since installing this drive.

Cons: * Did not come with 3.5" to 2.5" Bracket

Pros: * Fast and Responsive
Comment:
This was purchased to be the primary drive for a new office machine I built. I am extremely pleased with the system speed and responsiveness. My leading factor in purchasing was reputation amongst the forum regarding it's quality and reliability. It did not come with a bracket to fit in a normal HDD bay slot, which is a bit disappointing given the price, then again the case could have too.I have been very pleased with this unit so far and would recommend it.

Cons: Needs mounting bracket separately for PC tower.

Pros: Fast boot-up.No moving parts means the drive rests within my tower sans mounting bracket at reduced risk.
Comment:
I bought this drive and then stupidly let it sit on my desk for almost 3 months before installing it. My PC was being plagued by a BSOD problem and as an attempt to correct that I reformatted and installed the SSD. It didn't clear up the BSOD issue, but it did make living with the BSOD problem easier because the PC would reboot quite fast, compared to before. I have since cleared up the BSOD problem, and I love having this drive for the smooth booting.

With SSD prices dropping, I can now start putting SSDs into most of my machines, including my HTPC. This one, acquired for 90$ on black friday was destined for my HTPC.Not much to say about this beyond the usual SSD benefits of silent and no moving parts. It's a reasonable cost per gb, so why not.
