This unit is modest for its energy rating of 700W but it handled my technique (two HD and tow DVDs as properly as dual 9800 GT in SLI mode) just fine. Non Get this power provide and see what a deference a excellent good quality PS can make to any program and It's power efficient also.

Quiet. A lot more than adequate connections for all the cables that come with it. Use what you need to have, store the rest. Lets you maintain order inside the computer. None that I've noticed Comes with enough cables to plug in anything I required and still had a handful of left. Fantastic bang for the buck and absolutely free shipping. Lets hope I get my rebate.

It performs fine and appears good. Don't acquire a two 1ǘ foot tall case and you won't have to worry about the cables being also brief. The poor rating is due to the bait and switch with the rebate. The rebated price was the only reason I purchased this. I jumped by way of one hundred hoops for these guys to qualify for their rebate which after 6 months has not come. Signed up on web internet sites, tore off and pasted proofs, filled out types.DO NOT TAKE THE REBATE Price INTO ACCOUNT THEY DO NOT HONOR IT.

Pretty cheap energy provide. Supplying decent voltage as per BIOS readings. Adaptable 20Ʋ as effectively as fourƲ. Very first: Cabling is very brief. Cable for 4Ʋ pin is touching the plastic on my video card. Other individuals claimed the connectors weren't quite excellent. I didn't look to have this problem. General, got it on time, my computer system began. What additional can you ask for? Hopefully it keeps running for at least a handful of months!

Semi - Modular design is brilliant.correct 700w of energy, it runs my program and the energy supply remains comfortably cool. It powers my higher end gigabyte MOBO with a Phenom x4 9850 black edition more than clocked to two.8ghz, 4 gigs of ocz 1066 ram, two 7200 rpm sata HDDs, My Blu-ray drive, a GeForce 9800 GT 1gb OC'ed, and my 6 technique fans, fine in marathon sessions of crysis, l4d and gta IV. I emailed the CoolMax Assistance address about acquiring more molex cables and the responded rapidly and politely and allowed me to order additional for a low cost. This is and exceptional deal for this item. it only comes with two molex power cables. but they are effortlessly ordered from client friendly MFR. It wouldn't surprise me at for this PSU to run a GTX 2XX card with no difficulties

The cost is about the only pro on this issue, its far cheaper than just about any other 700 watt psu out there. Sadly you get what you spend for. The output is not at advertised specs, my system would reset all the time from overload with only about 60 to 70 % load on the whole machine. 50 amps is absolutely not what this point outputs. Heat, or more appropriately inefficiency, is also a large issue with this PSU. A lot of reviewers have complained about alot of heat coming off of this issue, this is due to the fact its extremely inefficient, and due to the fact of this, a huge component of the A/C energy is lost to heat through the conversion to D/C, requiring much more power draw from the wall to compensate. For instance, when I hooked up my Kill-a-Watt, this issue pulled 3-five amps from the socket, when I returned it to F r y's and got a Corsair 750 watt, a far much better PSU, it pulled only around two.two at most. The cables had been also really brief, I had to move my ODD's down two slots just to get them power, ofc my case is huge (HAF 932) but when generating a PSU like this, it is a offered it will go in such a case So if you're hunting for a PSU that will do only standard items and run a program that doesn't essentially need to have 700 watts of energy and 50 amps of 12v power, this is the PSU for you. If you're a gamer, developer, or do some other activity that requires beefy hardware, steer clear of this PSU (despite the misleading specs). If you're only needing something to run a machine with modest hardware and probably some light gaming on stated hardware, this is a selection for you. Notice I didn't say "good" decision, that's due to the fact, while this PSU would run a modest technique, there are far a lot more effective and reputable PSU's out there that would do what this issue does, and you could probably go with a reduced wattage rating and nevertheless get the identical efficiency as this unit.As a final note I gave the unit two stars since it does operate, and mine wasn't DOA, it was the poor quality, poor design, and more than advertised specs that earned it that rating.

The picture on newegg and the companies web page appears good 1st of all this is a partially modular psu. The four pin cord is particularly short if your psu mounts on the bottom of the case you will have to run it beneath your video card. The picture shows all modular with the exception of your four pin and 8 pin cables. But only one pcie and your sata power are modular so if your running a video card you only save space for one cable, Do oneself a favor and go with a diverse psu All energy cables worked except the 4 pin connectors now I have to order one more psu to finish my create Manufacturer Response:Hello,Please supply us your laptop case model thru tech@coolmaxusa.com. The modular cables genuinely save on case space, when giving it superior lifetime usability for when you upgrade. The cooling fan on the inner surface acts like an additional case fan, taking hot air virtually directly from the CPU's heatsink. Offers *plenty* of SATA/IDE connectors (the SATAs had been even in the right orientation, so there was no need to have to loop!). It even supplies two 4-prong plugs that sit effectively in an 8-prong socket on newer motherboards. The cables had been a bit bulky and unbendable. Only delivers two six-pronged PCIE connectors (this could bring about challenges for these who use a number of GPUs). The power supply is a higher supply of heat than the CPU & GPU; my computer now doubles as a space heater. The black-matte finish, although looking cool, does not match my silver-and-gray case. CoolMax has not even acknowledged my rebate yet (it's been two weeks).

Performs excellent. No difficulty with install at all. Reasonably quiet. Appears like a excellent unit, and the finest cost (with rebate) on a 700W PS that I could uncover. This was not a new device that I recieved. There was a dent in the side, which ruined the out-of-the-box expertise.

Modularity, output, stability. I'm incredibly content with this. My ONLY complaint is that there are more ports than cables than it shipped with, which means that if I need adequate power that I would use all the ports, I have to figure out how to get more cables (and it's not specifically clear where to do that...the manufacturer doesn't tell you).

I like the modular side of points. Also it's wonderful to have that little additional kick of juice. I at present don't run any cards on crossfire but may possibly in the future and not having the cables dangling in the case is a plus. It also vents down into your case and not up like some of the pictures make it look like. The black nylon wrapped cables are a tiny stiff but are quickly worked into position and look fantastic. When inserting the Serial ATA or SATA power cable into the power provide it was a little difficult due to just a extremely little additional bit of plastic that was caught on the plug. They went fine into the tough drives. Just make positive you aren't more than spending on Also powerful of a power supply. This is a good solution but if all you genuinely need is a small 400W stick to the greater price tag.

Modular, compact, low noise, great cost, consumer assistance from manufacturer is initial price, I emailed relating to an problem with the modular sata cables and they are shipping out new ones asap. cabling is a small brief for midsize leading mount psu. I can see a problem if the case calls for side mounting of drives in a taller case with top mount psu. I did not get this from Newegg due to needing a local supplier and getting preceding difficulties with UPS shipment to my address.Being a longterm newegg client with tons of purchases, I can say this is a excellent purchase.Installed this in a generic midsize tower. This psu powers a homebuilt pc with the following:Asus P5Q SE2 MainboardIntel Dual Core E8200 OC to 3.two ghz7 GB DDR2 800 ramWD 750 GB Sata HDDWD 500 GB Sata HDDƒ) WD 160 GB Sata HDDLG HL-DT-ST DVD R\WATI Radeon X850XT 256Mb DDR3 VRamKingWin SATA hot swappable bay for WD 160 drives with either Vista Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate RC,Windows XP 64,or Fedora Core 11 64 bit.The system is fast as hell.

This the first time I've applied this model but I've purchased numerous COOLMAX energy supplies; no issues. Replaced the 500 watt PS on my desktop due to the fact if I plugged in much more than two really hard drives (the minimum to implement at least some fault tolerance, i.e. raid 1 mirror) the bios pchealth showed what I suspected; dropping under 11.9 volts even right after removing all unnecessary hardware (such as the floppy). In my knowledge that's guaranteed trouble. With this unit I'm back up to 12.09 and can add the further drives to implement pluggable raid striping and I can rest much easier at evening. None so far. Must add I still have removed all unnecessary hardware, but by my estimation I could add some points back in and still be ok. This is a fantastic, clean energy supply such as I have come to expect from COOLMAX.

Modular, runs cool, higher wattage, quiet and inexpensive. 'nuf stated. Had to obtain 12" extenders for 24 pin and 8 pin cpu plugs. No way to make it operate on an Antec 180 mid tower/psu on the bottom. Couldn't find an eight pin adapter, so I produced one particular from a second 24 pin adapter.(just reduce the outside six pins from each and every side, employing the inner 8 pins with the clip). As for this PSU's reliability...... time will inform. I had regarded purchasing two of these and operating dual PSUs but decided that 700 watts would be adequate for the rig I planned.Core 2 Quad 9650 OC'd to 3.75 ghz ON an AsRock X48 Turbo Twins WiFi mobo / eight GBs G.Skill DDR3 1333 (no oc) / 2 Radeon HD 4850's in crossfireX / three Hitachi 500GB 7200 SATAs in RAID five / CoolMax CU-700B psu. This rig gets 20,100 marks on 3dmark06 standard edition.

Two units booted up fine, and look to run well. They're really quiet, and run cool. Voltages fluctuate a bit, but rest well above their rating. The SATA modular plugs have 1 clipped side, and only go in a single way. They go in snug, and lock in spot - they can't come loose. PCI-e goes in effortless, and clips in spot. The dual PCI-e claims had been never ever very clear to me; the second PCI-e plug is not modular, but is fed via along with the 20Ʋpin, and 4Ʋpin cables.

Additional than enough energy for the application I was employing it for, liked the truth that I only plug in the quantity of cables I need to have, eliminating the ever-present bundle of unused cables that each other PS has stuck on leading of it. The manufacturer couldn't have splurged yet another Ũ.30 and added in a couple of further cables to go in the empty PCI/SATA slots that I now have? Had to resort to plugging in some spare jumper cables I had to get all my case fans powered up.Other 'complaint' the devoted power cable (the red a single) for PCI-express video card is about an inch also brief, it's placing considerable strain on the energy connector for my vid card.
