It performs as intended. It's 9.99$, craftmanship is low cost, but usable. This is not a generic IDE interface for SATA or vice versa.It is intended for Challenging Drives and only Hard Drives. I had a old Pata drive sitting close to with family pictures on it. None of my recent computers help IDE Pata, (without re-configuration). I pick this precise unit as the cables permitted for set up into a Esata enclosure I had sitting close to (I didn't want to use MB to power unit).

The device was extremly esay to instal, no directions required as extended as you know what an IDE, molex, and SATA slot looks like. I run an older Computer that utilizes PCI, AGP, and mainly IDE interface's. You do need to make confident that you go to your BIOS and turn the IDE channel on so that it can recognize what ever device you have plugged into it. The only con I can see is the Floppy Drive power supply that it comes with, the molex adapter teeth that are in it are quite flimsy. Sort of made attaching it difficult. But absolutely nothing the avearge user couldn't manage. They only plug in one way. I would recomend this device to any one particular that is searching to utlize there IDE attachments for significantly new technology, I.E. SATA. Can be applied for either challenging drive, or CD/DVD rom attachments.

Incredibly compact style. I like the fact that it can convert from SATA to IDE and IDE to SATA. It also comes with a SATA cord and power adapter cable to connect this Converter Bridge to a Molex energy connector. None that I've skilled. In my pc there is only SATA power connectors and I am trying to hook up an older IDE drive which requirements the 4-pin Molex connector. My configuration needs two Molex power connectors - 1 for this Converter Bridge and one for the challenging drive. If your need is the similar, also order Item#: N82E16812198026 which will give you two Molex power connectors from one particular SATA energy cable.

This unit allows me to scan and clean laptop drives that are disabled by malware/virii. The only criticism I have concerns the four smaller screws employed to attach the metal situation halves. They are small and the heads can be quickly stripped. A rubber band would serve effectively if the screws are lost. This unit replaced a dead Eaglebit situation.

able to read sata drives in bios and was able to boot from it too. sata is only as rapidly IDE port but that is a given

affordable Well, it didn't function, so that'd be a Con. Given that I had bought a IDE DVD burner a few months ago, I thought I'd try to save a couple of dollars and bridge it to my new technique. (mobo does not have IDE) It ended up getting only snag in the develop. Since it's expenses 9 dollars to ship it back to get my ฝ credit it's not worth my time. Maybe it would perform on an IDE drive but it didn't perform on a DVD burner.

Works very well and smaller than I expected, very uncomplicated to start off employing appropriate away and can take IDE to SATA or the other way about. Not really a con for me but if you have a long video card it adds length to your HDD and you could have space conflicts if HDD is installed in front of you vid card. I am working with it to connect my old 60gig Maxtor PATA to my ABIT AN52V motherboard and had no issues booted correct up!

Works Excellent! Plug and PlaySpeed is great three.0Gb/s, this was the only converter I could find with 3.0Gb/s every thing else was only 1.5Gb/sCool lights None. I necessary this in order to use my new sata 3.0Gb/s 500GB Difficult Drive I just bought (off newegg of course) I have an older method so every little thing is IDE, I was a little worried that it wouldn't function but it works excellent!

I attempted every possible configuration with two ide hard drives (maxtor and seagate) and AT BEST i got a drive but it was inaccessable. I understand that the price of this is low, but the design is shoddy and the unit that i received seemed to have been assembled haphazardly. I can't recommend this specific product.

Work for what I needed it to do. A little difficult to keep connect ribbon cable while installing but may be more an issue with ribbon cable then this product

When I upgraded my computer, the new motherboard had one EIDE and multiple SATA plugs. With 4 internal hard drives the Masscool CV 100 SATA to IEDE Hard Drive Adapter saved me from buying new hard drives. Great bargain

The price is great, but when I connected it as required, but absolutely did not work. I notice some others didn't get it to work either - must be the drives we were using, maybe too old, etc.

The device worked as advertised but is much too big and flimsy to be practical in a crowded PC enclosure. Heat, vibration or an errant hand would probably destroy this device.

Now that I got it working, its great... I can use my old IDE optical drive. Supported by my window 98. High recommend this one

I thought this would be a great way to adapt a clients internal IDE Travan 40 tape drive into a new server with only SATA ports. BIOS recognized the drive but in Windows XP Pro I had to do a search for new hardware after each reboot and even after the hardware driver was installed it never worked. I replaced this adapter with a bus PCIe IDE card at an additional $10 and no problem from the get go. I can't vouch for the SATA to IDE function this adapter also offers or adapting Hard Drives.
