Cons: Very loud!

Pros: Awesome mechanical keyboard for the purest.
Comment:
I did a lot of research into mechanical keyboards currently on the market, and am very happy with my decision to purchase this product. I've used the original IBM model-M, and also owned the Unicomp mechanical keyboards (who now own the copyright to that IBM design).I prefer the key layout on the Das Keyboard (small enter key, backslash above the enter key), with no extra crap like media controls or gaming gimmicks.I expect I'll use this keyboard for many years to come.

Cons: - Requires two free USB ports for integrated 2-port hub to work, which is an issue on the Mac where ports are limited.- USB hub ports could be spaced wider apart to accommodate multiple/wider devices being plugged in.

Pros: - Solid, excellent build quality- Very responsive, tactile feel- Increased my WPM and accuracy almost instantly!- No drivers or bloatware to install
Comment:
This is an incredible keyboard. I've only been using it for a day now, but I'm glad I bought it. I instantly feel like a better typist, there's really something about the responsive feeling of a mechanical keyboard.Feels like a quality product from top to bottom. I'm using it on the Mac and it worked right out the box after a quick, simple setup process. Highly recommended.

Cons: expansive

Pros: elegantnot looking like a toy sturdy and heavy like a tankrare cherry mx brown swtiches infinite keys roll overs via ps/2
Comment:
if you are looking for a elegant proffesional keyboard this is one of the highest tier mechanical keyboard along with the filco brand. it is pretty much no bs (no flashy lights no macros)and straight to business. every part of this keyboard is build with quality. in fact i chose this over black widow because the widow only has 6 keys roll over and the widow looks like a toy the more reviews i read lol...also this thing is heavy like 4 pounds you can literally beat someone's head to death because this thing is hard and heavy like a brick

Cons: No wrist rest

Pros: SolidResponsiveMakes clicking noises

Absolutely fantastic. I had an old keyboard that was so loud my room mates forced me to buy a new one. However, I just didn't like the rubber dome keyboards. It just didn't feel right. This keyboard is built like a tank. It's pricey, but you can get it cheaper by doing a price match. I this for $30 less. Regardless, you are getting a quality keyboard. The keys also feel very high quality, which is something I never thought would make a difference, but it just feels nicer. Maybe it's the high profile that makes it more comfortable to type with compared to modern day dome keyboards.Try it out if you can, it's a dream to type on.One more thing, it doesn't mention this, but it does come with a fancy cloth to wipe off your finger prints. I thought that was a nice and funny gesture to show that they are listening to their customers. This review was modfied by poster @ 11-12-11 08:29 AM

Cons: Price, no wrist rest, mechanical keyboard click

Pros: Feel of the keys, sturdiness of the keyboard, sleek design
Comment:
Great buy. Kind of expensive but that's what you get for buying a quality mechanical keyboard--not sure how much cheaper they could get. Lack of a wrist rest was annoying. I didn't realize how much I rested my wrist on the 1st gen G15 rest which I loved. It's like night and day compared to a rubber dome keyboard AND the keys supposedly last longer.

Cons: glossy, not silent

Pros: solid, mechanical switches
Comment:
I've been using the Das now for a few months and really enjoy using it compared to cheap keyboards. It's my first mechanical, and I know I'd find it difficult to go back. Despite the name, however, it really isn't silent, and the glossy surface attracts fingerprints.

Cons: Glassy finish see all fingers print.Expensive price, still worth it when you spend over 8hours/day on your pc.

Pros: High quality Easy to clean (remove key)Perfect design2 USB 2.0
Comment:
Bought that keyboard for gaming and typing. this is my first mechanical keyboard. I have to say wow that monster is day and night versus rubber made one. After some hours/days typing become really more intuitive due of the tactile feedback. Layout is exactly what I wanted. The absence of ghosting effect in gaming make it a premium choice for professional keyboard. My last keyboard g15had response problem whit simple and fast combo (a1/a2/a3) in RTS (starcraft). Never happened whit the DAS. happy i had chosen the silent version the noise level is ok.

Cons: USB ports on the right side of the keyboard, would get in the way of a right-handed person due to the mouse on the right side

Pros: -Feels amazing!-Nice simple look with shiny glossiness and blue LED capslock/numlock/scroll lock indicators-Won't slide around
Comment:
I will never go back to a 'regular' keyboard again. There is a tactile click to the keys at their actuation point, aka the point where the keystroke is registered. It's subtle but makes a huge difference. You don't have to bottom out the key to register the keystroke like you do on a regular keyboard. The keyboard is glossy, which looks nice. It comes with a shammy cloth to wipe any fingerprints and etc if you have to.This is the 'silent' version with Cherry MX Brown switches. If you type carefully/slowly it is indeed almost silent. But typing normally you will likely end up bottoming out the keys anyway, which gives a pleasant soft click sound. Even though it doesn't have the Click of the non-silent model or blue-switch keyboards, it still is a great keyboard and it feels amazing to use. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone.

Cons: smaller then my last keyboard, takes a little to get used to it.

Pros: nicest, quickest, heaviest, most perfect keyboard I have ever owned!
Comment:
have been doing 3 hours non stop data entry and speed is better and more accurate. keys seem louder then advertised, I may have accidentally got a DASK3PROMS1 instead. regardless it works and i do not mind the sound. will refer to everyone.

Cons: Keys do not click, which defeats the primary advantage of a mechanical keyboard.

Pros: Solid build quality. Attractive appearance.
Comment:
I chose the silent version of this keyboard over the normal one because I was hoping to get the feel of the old IBM Model M keyboard without the noise (or with reduced noise). Although this keyboard has mechanical switches, you would never know it. It feels like an extremely light touch scissor or rubber dome keyboard to me. Despite the lack of any click feel (it's the feel that matters and not the sound), the keyboard can still be quite loud, simply from the sound of the keys hitting bottom. The harder you hit keys, the louder this keyboard will be.

Cons: Doesn't live up to all the hypeGaming is not greatPrice

Pros: Build qualityKey feel
Comment:
Although this keyboard is built very well, the keys can wobble around a bit. Also, one may come across a key which makes a "squeaking" noise. Mine went away after a while but others have not. Overall I think mechanical keyboards, in general, have too much hype. It's not that amazing. Maybe I'll try black switches next time (in a long time after what this cost me).I'm not angry or dissatisfied, it's just that the hype makes you expect so much more. Try one in the store before you buy.

Cons: Glossy finish is a dust and fingerprint magnet. USB hub on the right side is not a good location as any thing plugged in will impede mouse positioning

Pros: Cherry MX Brown switches.Price makes it comparable to a Filco.Build quality is excellent
Comment:
Let me preface this by saying that along with the DAS Silet I also have a Razer BW, Steelseries 6G, and Thermaltake Meka. Out of those 4 boards the DAS is hands down my favourite. I'm a programmer and not-so-pro gamer (FPS' and SC2). I prefer the DAS for both.

Cons: price

Pros: -Build quality-looks-brown switches-feel-clack noise of brown switches
Comment:
This keyboard is the best keyboard and the only keyboard you will ever need. The build quality is amazing. The brown switches are excellent. Typing is extremely easy and fast with this keyboard since less force is required to press each key. Blue mechanical switches are too loud with there high pitch click. This keyboard had brown mechanical switches that make a less noisy and more deep clack noise. Sounds very good but not too loud. The das is amazing for gaming as well. I play sc2 and shooters, and this keyboard blows others out of the water.

Cons: ExpensiveKey caps go shiny fast (my frequenly used keys seem to be showing shine in 2 weeks of use)USB Hub too weak to power 2.5" USB External HDD (WD Passport)

Pros: Keys feel uniformly weighted, i.e all keys require same amount of force to press down.Feels very sturdyNice Glossy FinishNot tiring after long hours of useNot that loud
Comment:
All in all this is a great keyboard but might be better to get the ultimate if you are afraid of the lettering smidging off. They are laser etched so hopefully they are durable but shining seems to be an issue, my logitech wave didn't shine until long use.I don't like how the controll doesn't really randomize simultaneous presses, they always go inorder from left to right on the keyboard, so if I press asdf all at the sametime, it always shows asdf. This is bad for me for typing the question mark since it comes out as / when i press that and the shift beside it fast.

Cons: The shiny black surface is a magnet for dust and fingerprints. The usb ports are located on the right hand side which can interfere with your mouse while working in a cramped space.

Pros: Strong sturdy beautiful build, with buttery-like keys it's a joy to type on. The keyboard boldly stands for quality.
Comment:
Overall it's a great piece of hardware but a tad pricey. For someone who used to spend as little as possible on keyboards before this is quite the jump but I don't regret it one bit. The soft keys make typing extremely easy and minimizes joint pain as the keys don't stick and have the same contact point for every key. Also the clicking is addictive. Typing isn't the same without it anymore.
