Cons: poor location for USB ports

Pros: Great tactile feel, easy typing
Comment:
The light mechanical action makes this keyboard a joy to type with. The lack of labels on the keys is a good since it stops you from looking down when typing. Built very solid.I have no idea why the USB ports are located on the right side of the keyboard. That's where my mouse pad is making these ports useless to me. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

Accept that this has no typeface on the keys and you will be much happier with the product.Typing with this thing is a dream, even if you aren't that familiar with proper typing technique. Just having the keyboard will force you to learn to touch type properly, or at least makes it faster. If you have never owned a mechanical keyboard, then you should totally try one out and you will never go back to anything else.

Cons: - Would be neat to have a backlight option for those learning to touchtype or typing complex codes (ie. serial keys)- A wrist rest would be welcome

Pros: - High quality feel, sound, and weight- Blank keycaps look very clean- Mechanical switches are addictive- NCIX very impressive processing time

To review this item, you have to accept what it is: blank-keys, mechanical switches, and minimal in style. It excels at what it is. Typing on this keyboard offers a very nice tactile feel, without being too loud. They make this identical keyboard with lettering on it; this one is all black, and it looks very nice, unique, and clean. You can get either though. The Cherry MX Brown switches are just right, as they don't have an additional loud "click" with every press, but they do still make plenty of noise. The feel of the keys is pretty light, with a nice bump part way down-stroke. Very nice to type on.Build quality is top-notch for keyboards. Some people complain that there aren't any extra "Media" keys, but you know this when you buy it... can't fault it for that, as it would go against the style they're going for.I'm on my second Das Keyboard, as my girlfriend refuses to give me other one back! Decided to try the black-keys and I am happy I did.As a bonus, got my product the next day... Very happy with NCIX!

Cons: USB ports on the right side of the keyboard has to be the stupidest design, ever.

Pros: Das Keyboard Ultimate Model S uses cherry mx browns. They have that tactile feedback for the keys but no actual click sound that comes with the non-silent versions.

I would have liked to be able to use the usb ports on the keyboard but I don't need them, so it's no big loss. Otherwise I would have given this a 5 star.

Cons: Price, USB hub on the right of the keyboard.

Pros: Great keyboard, great feel. Good quality.
Comment:
The keyboard is great. Cherry brown keys aren't clicky like blue keys (The regular s model). Beautiful to type on. I like the gloss finish on it but it does attract fingerprints very easily.Works very well would buy again. Only negative really that I actively dislike is that they stuck the usb hub ports on the right side of the keyboard. I would have preferred it on the top right side. I can't really use it as my keyboard tray is small and it would interfere with my mouse. Price wasn't an issue for me but it could be for some. This is the only easily available Cherry brown keyboard in Canada, so it was an easy buy.Quick explanation of key types:Blue - Clicky and tactile (Quite loud)Black - Completely linear (Kinda like pushing a button, some would say its good for fps gaming)Brown - Non Clicky with a small tactile bump (Can barely feel it). Good for typing and gaming in my opinion. Brown's also take the least force to press down and blacks the most. Keep that in mind, some people find blacks to be tiresome after long sessions.

I bought this to replace a steelseries 6gv2, which I've had for a long time. This one is better for typing as it has brown cherry mx keys and there is a lot more tactile feedback than the black cherry mx keys that the 6gv2 had. This keyboard is also great for gaming. I personally prefer this keyboard over the 6gv2.

Comment:
Being my first mechanical keyboard, to say I am delighted with the Das would be putting it lightly. Typing on it is a dream. I'm a programmer by trade and what I would describe  as an accomplished typist, and there is an enormous different typing on the Das when compared to a traditional membrane keyboard. If you find that you type fast on a membrane keyboard, switching to a Das (or any mechanical keyboard) will likely improve your typing as you have additional feedback of whether or not a key was successfully pressed beyond something happening on the screen.I split my time between programming and gaming, and the brown cherry switches used on the silent version of the Das are a perfect balance between the ease of a key press and the tactile response.

Cons: Glossy finish on the frame attracts a lot of dust, hair, and tiny scratches. (Not a big deal)

Pros: Very responsive keys. Comfortable to type on for hours and hours. Switches aren't too loud. Great look/design
Comment:
This is my first mechanical keyboard and I'm totally pleased with the change. After typing on it for a few days and getting used to the sensitivity of the keys, it takes less effort to type and as the hours go by this becomes more noticable. The lack of inscription on the keys gives it a sleek and simple look which I love, and the layout of the keyboard is completely standard so fumbling around for keys shouldn't be a problem. The switches are thankfully, relatively silent as they are meant to be. They are still louder than most membrane keyboards, however I have two people that sleep next to me every night that haven't been disturbed by it (they are deep sleepers so it's possible that it might irritate some people). The keyboard itself is quite heavy which gives it a very sturdy feel and keeps it from slipping out of position even slightly. My ONLY complaint is that the super glossy frame of the keyboard attracts a ton of dust and hair. This is not a huge issue as the keyboard comes with it's own cloth for cleaning, however be gentle when wiping it down because the gloss is prone to very tiny scratches. This might bother some people more than myself, but personally it's nowhere near enough of an issue to cause me to regret buying the keyboard. Overall, I'm completely pleased with the keyboard. I got it specifically for StarCraft II as many hours of gaming on a regular keyboard caused some fatigue in my wrist. I type for hours everyday and I'd say that it is a perfectly good keyboard solely for typing as well. The price tag is high, however I have no regrets due to the superior quality that is given in exchange.I hesitate to give anything that isn't absolutely perfect a 5 star rating, therefore I give it 4/5. If it got stolen, I would definitely replace it.
