Cons: The piano black gloss finish shows its flaws in well lit rooms! XD

Pros: Going from Cherry MX Reds to these Blues is a huge boost to my ability to type comfortably. MX Blues are awesome to type on, so clicky, so satisfying. The blank key caps look amazing for those of us looking for minimalism in the look of our keyboard. All black, nice and sleek. The grip of the rubber feet is excellent, this board doesn't want to budge. (Unless you kick up the risers, in which case it does slide, unfortunately.)The piano black gloss finish looks amazing in dimly lit rooms (like mine).

I decided after playing with a Corsair K90 since it's release that I wanted to dive into the 'big boys' mechanical keyboard fray, and try out the blue switches for the first time. Best decision ever.I have automatically become a better typist. It just happened. Which is part of the reason why I picked up the blank keys (besides the amazing looks). I've always been a stumbler, but as I type this now on my new das I am not missing a beat. The tactile feed back of the blues really are as comfortable, satisfying and helpful as they say.I have done some light gaming in the few days that I've had this board, and I really haven't felt like I've taken a step down in responsiveness or the ability to repeatedly press a key in rapid succession. My gaming experience hasn't changed at all since moving from the Reds of the Corsair K90.All in all, I still love my K90. It was a cute little fling we had, and I'll never forget it... But I have to say I'll be going the rest of the way with my Das.

Cons: Erm, only con is the lack of cons.

Pros: Everything. * crisp key activation* audible feedback is absolutely beautiful* side-mounted USB ports work fine. * compact, much smaller than my cheapo logitech wireless* aesthetically sublime: beautiful finish, sophisticated in every way; the gloss is gorgeous, the lock indicators are subtile and light up in a calm blue and are invisible if inactivated. The lack of key inscriptions makes it look all the more gorgeous.

Worth every penny. If you've ever played Vice City and remember the intro playing the sound of someone "pecking" away at a mechanical kb and you remember the goold old days of tank-like buckling spring kbs you could key smash all day long and clean coffe and ketchup stains out of, before people started looking at you weird? The day has come, and with it, it brings the Das Keyboard Ultimate S. If you're a good typist and want a rock solid KB that looks great, this is the way to go. Once you've gone Ultimate, there's no going back. Don't let the lack of key inscriptions scare you away, everytime I look at a kb with inscriptions, I see a NOOB kb. This keyboard, with its uninscripted keycaps really does reduce the distraction and temptation to peek at keys you're not familiar with. You stare right at the screen or the work you're trying to type-out. I can't believe I didn't buy one 2 years ago. Love it.

Pros: Sturdy buildLight touchSimple design

My first mechanical keyboard. I went for the Ultimate model with no key markings on it so I could force myself to learn Dvorak. I like the light touch on all of the keys. They all feel very consistent. It is quite a heavy keyboard, but that helps keep it nice and stationary on my desk. I like the lack of extra buttons. They have kept it simple which meets my needs.I recommend this for any who types a lot, but be warned that there are no markings on the keys, so you better learn touch typing!

Cons: The USB ports in the side seems not to work well with my logitech G500, it will do well for 10 seconds then stop responding for a split second before working again.

Pros: Nice feel when typing,Great gaming keyboard,Keys never stick,You can press every single key at the same time and your mobo won't beep!
Comment:
I seriously enjoy this keyboard since the first moment I got it, it does improve your typing if you use it a lot !!In the first time I would always try to look at the keys on it, even if I knew where they were it's a reflex that I figured out would slow down my typing, without even thinking of it!I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who knows the layout of English keyboards and who likes gaming, solid build and will never let you down!

This is the best keyboard I have ever used. So glad I went with this over the Blackwidow Ultimate. I find myself missing keys since there is nothing written on them, but it is a nice learning curve. The MX-Blue's are a lot louder than I expected, I sort of wish I went with the silent, but I am still happy with this purchase.

Cons: -price point *seems* high, but isn't really for a good keyboard (and this site was cheaper than 'das keyboard')

Pros: -clicky-no key faces
Comment:
Alright, i just wanted to say two things. One: i agree with the previous reviews and the keyboard is awesome. The clicking is quite soothing and also in a way inspiring, like i'm accomplishing something every time i type. It's bizarre. Also, having no keyfaces has convinced me to try to learn Dvorak and Colemak. Two: i placed the order at approximately 4am on January 19th, and for the price of $10, received the keyboard 30 hours later, 10am on January 20th. Considering it was coming from Vancouver, that's almost exactly the time it would take me to drive there and straight back, going the speed limit. *wide-eyed shocked face*Bravo, NCIX, bravo.

During the past 8 years, I've used 2 "high-quality" keyboards. The Keytronic KT2001: a very good rubber dome keyboard, and the IBM Model M: a mechanical and legendary keyboard.Das Keyboard is easily the best keyboard I had so far.The feel is different from the Model M. After 3 months of using Das Keyboard at work and the Model M at home, I like Das Keyboard better. I bough a second one for home.$100+ can seem like a lot of money for a keyboard, but unlike CPUs, and Graphic cards they don't become obsolete after a few years.

Cons: Might just be mine, but I had to lube my backspace key.

Pros: It's as if the keys are pushing me to type faster because I don't have to bottom out.
Comment:
Awesome. It doesn't attract dust as much as I thought it would. In fact, it barely does! You get a free dusting cloth with it so it stays cleaner than a standard keyboard. Everything's black so it's easy to notice any dirt. The LED lights for caps lock, num lock and scroll lock are great, but I wish it wouldn't just be 1 light on, because I always have numlock on, but caps and scroll off. :(But it's the same on every keyboard, so I can't complain there.Overall: Awesome. Click clack awesomeness.

Cons: Took about a week to get used to it because I had never typed on a mechanical keyboard before.Sometimes other people complain about the noise, especially during conference calls.

Pros: Great feel(slightly) faster typingBoth audible and tactile feedbackSleek visual design (I love the no-labels approach)
Comment:
I do computer programming on a regular basis, so I type more than most people. This is the first keyboard that has really satisfied me. It feels more comfortable. It is easier to type. I use the dvorak keyboard layout, so having no (incorrect) labels on my keyboard is great. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who does a lot of typing, as long as you don't mind the extra noise.

Cons: No media keys which the previous model s had.Dust. Dust everywhere.

Pros: Great feel. Litte pressure required.Looks great!Usb hubs work fine.Full nkro.Rubber pads to hold keyboard in place work fantastically.
Comment:
I'm currently not typing this review on my das keyboard. And that makes me very sad. I find it hard to type on membrane keyboards as I'm not using enough force for them. The condition the box arrived in was questionable, and had looked like ncix had opened the box as there was chips of wood and dirt covering the cloth that comes with the keyboard. Also, the box was in terrible shape. The keyboard itself is a dream to type on. The clicky noise is loud, and for now I leave one earcup off so I can hear it. The keycaps are durable, and are quite hard to get off. If you do get them off, putting them on is as easy as lining up the shapes.I am disappointed with metadots decision not to put media keys and a function key instead of a windows key on this keyboard. I never use the windows key, and now it has to be disabled by registry. As my first mechanical keyboard, I was scared that my money would not pay off. However, this is a dream to type on. For gaming, its great, certainly better than a dome keyboard. Lack of keycaps forced me to learn the numeral shift modifiers.Overall, its a great keyboard. Most should probably opt for the silent model however, as it requires 10g less force and sounds like a regular keyboard.Would buy again. I will should it fail after a year.

Cons: Easy to get the glossy finish areas dirty

Pros: AMAZING look- sleek, sophisticated, elegantThe clicky sounds are orgasmic to my earsPerfect standard layoutUSB 2.0 ports to charge my blackberry/ipod
Comment:
I want to start off by saying WOW- the moment I plugged this in and started typing, I immediately felt the difference of the mechanical switches compared to my old membrane keyboard. Within seconds I was accustomed to touch typing and never even need to look down again... truly an amazing learning tool. At first, I was a bit hesitant to buy the ultimate model because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to type on it.. but I picked it up almost immediately. Like they all say, once you go mechanical, you don't go back. I was debating between this DAS model and the Razer Black Widow Ultimate... I'm glad I chose the DAS.. it's easy to type on and is very sturdily built. I hear bad things about the Razer model and several RMA reviews, so I tend to stray away from their products. In terms of the Cherry MX Blue switches, these are the perfect keys to not only type on, but also play games. I consider myself a hardcore SC2 gamer, so being able to have a keyboard like this is a blessing. My macro and typing speed have doubled, possibly tripled. And my fingers never get fatigued because the keys are easily depressed. Overall, I'd pick this keyboard over any Steelseries/Razer product because of the standard layout and sturdy design that the DAS offers. Well worth the $100.00, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee you.

Cons: takes a while to get used to, glossy plastic

Pros: Great for typing, looks great, NKRO
Comment:
Blue Cherry switches feel great for typing. Some say it's not the best for gaming but I don't have a problem with it. Glossy plastic is a bit annoying, which requires constant wiping with the provided cloth. Not a big problem.

Pros: Beautiful, feels perfect, helps typing
Comment:
Yes, this keyboard is over $100. Get over it---it's completely worth it. The keyboard is one part of the computer that you interact with every day. The keys just feel perfect and the tactile response is soooo satisfying. It's hard to explain without actually using the thing. It's loud... do not get this for your workplace or if you have a girlfriend. The unmarked keys look amazing and have forced me to finally learn how to touch type. This keyboard can help even after years of poke typing abuse. Works great under both USB and PS/2. Use PS/2 for full n-key rollover. Glossy exterior looks incredible next to my glossy black Samsung XL2370.
