I bought two of these to manage all connections in my house. Really fast speeds from PCs to servers and PCs to WAN router. The devices are now my bottleneck, not my network switches. The green power feature does turn off connections and use less power (I checked with a Kill-a-watt).

It's easy. Turn on the power and hook up. It works fine without manual configuration.

Got this switch yesterday very easy setup (plug and play). Connected it to two computers with gigabit nic with Cat5e cable. transfer speed averaged about 45MBps (Megabytes not Megabits). Really fast, Good price.

I have had this about a month, I plugged it in and forgot about it. So far it has been great.

Any of the 8 ports can be used for the up-link. This does not readily slap you in the face with the skimpy documentation. A neat feature after you realize this. Cool how it can go green and power down when no activity. After plugging all the CAT5s you will need to reboot everything from your DSL to get this recognized and running.

Smart switch; doesn't need a dedicated uplink. Just plug n play. Works great. No issues.

Bought it one month ago, plugged it in and have not looked at it since. In other words, I have not needed to mess with it. That is the definition of a good unmanaged switch.

This is an unmanaged switch that passes data at gigabit speeds. Nuff said.

Nothing special or any kind of extra features, it just simply works. I've had it plugged in for two months straight and haven't had to reset it once. You just can't beat this switch for the money.

And a good price. What more do you want in a simple unmanaged GB switch. Nice.

I bought two of these switches to use in a fan out cascade, separated by 100 feet. Both switches have worked great, without any discernible drop in speed from the most distant point in the cascade. I subsequently added a 5-port D-Link switch to put a third layer in the cascade, and still no drop in speed and no detectable errors. Great product!!

This switch has worked exactly as advertised. I have placed a pretty heavy load on it, and it is still trucking along. Very good value.

Hmm ... not sure why the review from august 2006 says that plugging in a slower device slows all the ports down; thats not ture. The 1GBPs works as advertised; still caused BURN errors trying to burn DVDs straight from my NAS (1G) but huge files copy over well. Runs very cool. I got it for $32 with shipping (waiting for my $15 rebate) so value was excellent for me. It would have been great if I could have a paid more for upgraded models with VPN-Firewall-Router-Wifi Options ...

This item is great, but for my intended us, it is missing one important feature: the ability to act as a DHCP server. I now have to run this to my wireless unit, which does have this capability, in order to get an IP address over to the unit.

Very nice and I'm without major complaints. I have noticed that some cables will not work with it and I suspect it's the cat5e 6 issue mentioned in some other reviews. Since I seem to have cables in abundance, I just plugged in another one but that could be irritating to discover without warning.

I own this switch plus the previous generation. This switch generates a lot less heat and the power supply is much smaller and cooler. I recently greatly improved the performance of my home network when I discovered that several of my cables were cat 5 versus cat 5e or cat 6. I made new cat 5e cables and noticed a big difference in the local network speed. Gigabit networks need a minimum of cat 5e.

Worked as expected right out of the box. Really a nice 'plug and play' networking device. Our VOIP network of 5 phones is working very well with this switching solution in place.
