Cons: These are older models, thus, encryption is not safe

Pros: Able to do the work without ethernet hooking through walls
Comment:
I got a pair of these and notice they are able to do the work. The new models 309AV are much better because they are selfly encrypted. While these needs a software to install its encryption, what a waste of time.

Cons: you have to know how to configure settings.

Pros: plug and play
Comment:
Works for me, I have some knowdlege with computers, i recommend that you know how to file share and change adapter settings, but it works like a long ethernet cable, i didn't even need a router. I had powerline and wireless on my laptop. I use internet connection sharing to pass internet to the powerline device. Nice, would of never thought of a device like this, streaming media across wifi just doesn't work.

Cons: Still requires wiresNot as fast as direct ethernetTheoretically not as fast as Wireless-N 300

Pros: Easy to install and setupFast to install and setupFast connection over wirelessReliable connection
Comment:
So simple to setup and install.I have about 90-110 mbps connection on average between the two adapters and they are in rooms far away on two floors from each other. It is possible that's because I live in a modest 1100 sq ft townhouse. But this setup is even easier to setup than wireless. I think I am sold on powerline networking from now on.I have one adapter connected to a gigabit switch with one computer and 3 external drives and all other computers can see all devices.

Cons: No firmware updates

Pros: Good stable connection
Comment:
I am a massive advocate of powerline and have been using it since the 11mbps days. This technology has always in my opinion been superior to wireless and these D-Link units are a prime example of that. On day one I plugged them into the wall and connected an ethernet cable, that is the only thing I have had to do with them, what more can you ask for?

Cons: - Must purchase in pairs- Can be challenging to position depending upon your layout- No outlet pass-through

Pros: - Excellent compromise between ethernet and wireless connections- Very easy to configure- Aesthetically pleasing
Comment:
I was having issues maintaining consistent Wireless G/N connections to my Xbox 360. I tried different adapters and wireless solutions to no avail. This product truly is as easy as it sounds to setup. Simply plug one adapter to an outlet near your router and run an ethernet cable (included), then, plug the other adapter to an outlet near the desired device (pc, console, NAS, etc) and run another ethernet cable (included). Press the setup button on the side of each device (within 2 minutes of each other) and you're done.I tested transfer speeds (wired/wireless/powerline) in a bit of a crude fashion by transferring a 1.4gb folder over each technology:Wired - 2m20sPowerline - 3m30sWireless - 6mI find the Powerline technology to be a great compromise between wired/wireless, especially when I would need to run about 100ft of cable in order to achieve the former. In addition, should you have multiple devices in one location (360, PS3, Wii, NAS, etc) you can attach one of these adapters to a switch and provide network access to multiple devices. Similarly you could attach one of these adapters to a wireless repeater to expand your existing wireless network. One thing to keep in mind is that your mileage may vary based upon your electrical system/wiring. It would also be nice if you could purchase single adapters to add to your setup, so far I've only seen these sold in pairs. In my building my power outlets are installed horizontally and near the floor, meaning I had to be a bit creative when it came to plugging one of these in due to ethernet clearance. I don't suspect this would be an issue for most people but I felt it worth mentioning. If your outlets are a few inches above the floor and installed in the traditional vertical fashion I don't anticipate you'd have any issues with your installation.I haven't had any issues since installing this product and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking to achieve wired-esque performance to a device with an unreliable (or non-existant) wireless connection.
