I have used many brands. I get the fewest coasters as long as I use this brand of discs. The price is also much better than some of the other (more well known brands).

first of all people complaining that they failed 10 times out of 25 - replace your junky drives, don't overburn, don't burn with more than 8x speed, get more powerful computer when you want to fiddle around while burning or else you're going to end up unhappy that you have to throw out 10 discs because of your own negligence or lack of knowledge. These discs are plain perfect when you know how to handle things

Speed has always been the key to a good burn !! ive had maybe 2 coasters out of 50 memorex so far, on a cheap burner, and 5 out of 100 on a $200 burner .. I have patience and burn slower!!! Usally if the burn was bad, it was mostly cause i rushed the burn, or the copy was bad too!!Im going to give these ones a go!!! Then ill be back !!! .. Ps .. Remember when we paid $600 for a CD burner lol .. Man things have changed !!! ROCK ON DIGITAL REFLEX

I have never burned an coaster with these.. Perhaps it is the performance of your DVD burner that is causing the problem. For example a person purchases an 24.99 DVD burner then expects it to perform like a $129 one. Then blames it on the discs if it doesn't. You get what you pay for. A tip for burning DVD's.. If you have a re-writeable DVD drive.. Use an RW DVD disc until you have it the way that you want it, and then copy it to an R DVD disc. You can use the same RW DVD over and over a thousand times. This will save you money especially if you have a high rate of burning coasters.. IMO

Iagree with most of the other reviews. I bought a 50 pack, about 50% failed. I don't have the time to keep reburnig due to such poor quality.

With these discs you need to burn 2x and you will not have a huge failure rate. Out of 150 discs I have had 15 bad that haven't even got a shot at being burned on...8 with bad sectors and 7 which don't read. Other than that they work perfect if you are willing to give up on speed.

This 'product' is utter garbage. All the discs in my first spindle were coasters, no matter which burner and computer I used. I still have another two, unopened spindles that I had bought with the assumption that anything with the Philips name would be a good product, but can't find the receipts to try to get a refund. Anything else I that I have bought from Tigerdirect since they launched their stores in Canada has been high quality. Tigerdirect should send all their stock back to Philips for a refund. From the purported inventors of the CD and DVD format, this product is a disgrace to them and an injustice to Tigerdirect and its customers.

Product works great for me. I burned 1 coaster trying at 8x. If I set Roxio Toast for Max. avail. it burns avg. 4x-6x with no errors. I run Apple Dual G5 with 4.5GB Ram. Some people don't understand about ram cache and burn speed. If you have a slow bus speed, old computer, cheap burner, and 1GB or less of RAM, lousy software, your performance is going to suck in every aspect, including burning with any media. Don't blame the performance on the media when the rest of your system belongs to the Stone Age.

Burned 6 with no problems ( I thought) untill playback. All freeze up on playback. Tried 4X, 2.4X, then 1X burn on more, same problem. Have 3 burners (Pioneer, Phillips, and HP) same thing on all! Have burned for years without problem on TDK's mostly, have 4 left and will can those with the rest. Tiger is fine, but these suck.

I have been burning HP DL discs for months with few, if any, errors. It took me five tries to get my first good disc out of these Philips DL discs. I'm glad I didn't get the 50-pack!

I tried 4-5 disks from a spindle and none worked. I tried with 3 different burning S/W, a few different ISO images. No luck... Took the product back to the store, they tested 3 disks, and none worked - good for me, as I got a full refund. My advice: stay away from this product. It seems to be working just fine for some people, and not so well for others. I was able to burn other Dual Layer disks before, so I don't think it's my DVD drive.

These Disc are great. I have used about 150 disc's so far and I have only messed up with one because the power went out during the burning process. Also I recommend not using the highest burn speed with the disc's. This will help with quality of the burn.

DR8S8B25F/17 Phillips 25 pack DVD+R DL Gives an error message: InternalError, Fatal DVD driver error when I try to burn a disc with my Sony OEM Sony DVD RW DW-Q2A KyS1. All otherDVD+R media, Imation, Memorex, Sony works just fine, only Phillips gives this message. Tigerdirect will not support, Phillips will not support, Sony says its OEM so THEY will not support. I ordered Memorex from TigerDirect but I am stuck with these non functioning discs and am out 38 bucks including shipping

These Discs work perfect and they all worked fine no coasters at all for the person burning with a LG DVD burning my suggestion to you is get you a Samsung or a Sony DVD burner Externals are more stable. There is a real good Lite on Sata burner that is very good but get away from LG they arent very stable I am a computer tech and i have seen many LG's that were bad i have had to replace them. But these disc are perfect.
