Bought a 25 pack spindle of these. Have attempted to burn 7. Five failed either on burn or validation. The two that burned ''successfully'', hung on playback on a DVD player...towards the end of the program. Suspect these blanks have faulty/inferior 2nd layer. Suggest not buying them.

This item came packaged as Dual-Layer DVD-R, but, all of my recording programs recognized these disks as CD-R. Completely false labeling and a big ripoff. Don't buy this product.

I purchased these disks because the DVD-R DL's seem to enjoy a wider range of compatibility with entertainment type DVD players and older DVD-ROM readers. Simply stated, don't waste your money on these disks. These disks have an attractive price but just don't perform. I'm using a Lite-On LH20A1P Drive (a very good drive) with Win2K and Nero Ultra 6.6. I've tried to burn 5 disks and none will compare or run properly. Looking at the error data it appears that the problem is mostly with the second layer. So I wrote a disk using only layer 1 (less than 3GB). This compared OK but wouldn't read properly on several other DVD reader devices. If you need a DVD-R DL go pick up some Verbatims. I had no trouble writing and reading on them. If you must buy these things then go to the Ritek site, http://www.ritekusa.com/support.asp, and check the drive listing. I don't think they tested their product on each drive but simply listed the drive's capabilities. I e-mailed Ritek and de

After burning 5 discs successfully with an external DVD writer (HP DVD940), the next 10 have not passed verification.

they work Excellent , a little slow to burn a DVD though but after all it is 8.5Gig vs 4.7Gig .Purchased a 25 Pack , did not have a problem with one of them even though my DVD Writer is not even suppose to write to these as it is a DVD+R DL DVD Burner . DVD's don't work if I use CloneDVD2 but work perfectly if I use ShrinkDVD and Decrypter to burn movie / image . You may need to '' Upgrade '' your burner '' Firmware '' in order to use these .

Tried this media on two Plexor PX-716A and one Sony DRU-510A both with the latest firmware and could not even get the drives to recognize the media. What a waste of $50!!
