Cons: Synology needs to improve the fans.Sometimes they will rattle on boot up. :(Good thing is that fans are very easy to replace on this unit.

I think this is an awesome NAS. I use it constantly. It works really well, the Quick Start was very helpful.I came from a couple DNS-323s, and I do like the 323s simplicity, and flexibility in the shares. Which something I wish the 1512 had. For example: I used the shares as 'shortcuts' main shares, and subshares.The 1512, uses them almost like logical disks. So you can't create another share that points to a location. If you create a share, it create s it right on the root. I hope this makes sense.Still an awesome piece of equipment. Highly recommended. |
