Cons: None thus far

Pros: Very slickMatteCheap compared to other 24"
Comment:
Only real complaint is that the plastic packaging somehow got stuck in between some of the cracks in this monitor and are very difficult to remove, as well as where the screen meets the frame around it.But for $250, you can't go wrongDefinite buy IMO

Cons: blurry text on modes other than standard

Pros: rich colorsfast response time (didnt experience any kind of lag)games and movies look nicer than other TN LCDslots of input: dvi, hdmi, vga
Comment:
This LCD is really focused on media entertainment than regular usage such as games/movies vs text reading. This LCD really shines when gaming and watching movies.

Cons: Tinny speakers, spends a long time in standby mode before powering off

Pros: Clear picture, no ghosting or dead pixels.
Comment:
Just before Canada Day I had been shopping around for a 24" 1080p monitor. This monitor had been on my short list at the time and when it went on sale I decided it was worth the price.I hadn't been expecting the speakers on it since I didn't need them, however I've been using them almost exclusively for any non-headset gaming and show watching and they provide decent sound, even though it has a tinny tone to it.The earphone connector in the screen is useful, since I end up with much less risk of catching the wire on something.I can't judge if the colour quality could be better or worse compared to other sets because I haven't bought any others, however it is a very clear picture and for gaming it works quite well.I would definitely recommend this one to someone looking for a new monitor.

Cons: 1 dead pixel, but buying the no dead pixel policy PLUS having to pay for shipping it back to ncix does not justify the cost for one pixel so I did not get this.

Pros: Not sure yet
Comment:
Ok monitor with good bright colors, however, there is a glow around the edges of the screen, but it is not that big a deal since so far I've only noticed it when watching a movie and the screen goes black in a dark room, which may cause issues with horror movies that have a lot of dark scenes. I would have gotten the no dead pixel policy if I wouldn't have to pay for shipping back to ncix, but its mostly only noticable on a black screen/area. Blacks are not as great as my old Samsung 226BW, but it'll do. Mostly gonna use this for gaming and general use so there shouldn't be any big issues with this monitor's performance.

Cons: Vertical viewing angle isn't really that great. If you do graphics work, don't buy this monitor. If you open a picture on the monitor, and have one copy at the top half of the monitor and the other copy on the bottom, the colors will look slightly different for each. This is problematic when photo editing! When watching TV shows, I have to tilt the monitor downward past its design limit by angling the monitor on a book. You can't really watch videos on this monitor with best quality looking from "below".Blacks could be blacker. There is a slighy reflection of light off the plastic sides of the screen, even when monitor is black. You get used to it, though.

Pros: Cheap, great size, sharp image. Base is solid, not flimsy.
Comment:
As long as you're not a photo editor or other graphics professional, this monitor is just fine. Vertical viewing angle could be better but it's fine for browsing and gaming.I compared it to other monitors in the store, and the viewing angles on the LG w2242pa-bf and Asus vw246h are far, far worse. I watch TV shows on this monitor and it's ok. I tilt the monitor down to get a better picture but it's not totally necessary. Compared to other monitors in its price range of the same size, this one is the best, I think. Even though the brightness levels across screen are not consistent and the blacks could be blacker, this monitor is good compared to the competition. No dead pixels (I got insurance anyway tho, since I read some people did). Sharp, quite satisfactory picture. You cannot pivot the monitor sideways or raise/lower it. Not a huge deal, though. This review was modfied by poster @ 11-01-09 12:07 PM

Cons: 16:9 messes up things set to the standard 16:10 ratio - no config mode to switch (other than 4:3)Stand is lack-luster.

Pros: Excellent PriceVery good qualityLittle to no GlareExcellent responce time in games
Comment:
I'm very impressed with this monitor, I purchased the 0 dead pixel warranty with it, and glad to say I didn't need to use it.I've run many games on Vista x64 with no issues with blurring or anything. (I even installed a few games that used to do it on previous monitors to test it out)This went on a weekly sale, and was impressed with the price and the end result - definitely recommend this monitor for anyone who wants larger than 22"

Cons: Would like a greater range on the height of the screen (from the base).

Pros: Very good picture and quick response time.
Comment:
Bought one of these for work and for a friend. One of the best LCD purchases I've done so far and I will recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a larger LCD screen. Do not shop for a screen because it has speakers, you will almost never get the quality of good headphones or a good speaker system.

Cons: Nothing so far; almost freaked out when I thought there was a scratch on the screen, but some LCD cleaner (or glass lense cleaner) took it off (it was more than just a smudge.

Pros: Great Screen; strong; durable; good build quality; great monitor; not a single dead or bright pixel out of the box and having the 12.50 30 day zero dead pixel guarantee really put my mind at rest
Comment:
Received it very quickly. It was shipped monday, got it by wednesday with Purolator, slight scratch somewhere on the back of the base but first its barely noticeable and second it's in the back so I only saw it once when unboxing.Love the screen. Can't wait for my new computer to run it on. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-23-09 12:34 PM

Cons: Screen quality is visibly poorer when compared to more expensive competitor models.

Pros: Quality per price. Monitor performs well for what you pay for--great if you can get it around $300 on a sale. Currently using it for my PC and PS3 without an issue.Menu is easy to navigate.
Comment:
Got it at $300 after tax during sale. Extremely satisfied.Obviously not for high-end graphical editing/processing, but perfectly suitable for day-to-day PC and gaming uses.

Cons: Comes with VGA cable. Come on.Menu options for picture adjustment appear to be disabledWhen I first set it up the picture didn't fill the screen (could be video card default problem)

Pros: Looks greatNice pictureNo dead pixels
Comment:
Note: I am using a DVI to HDMI cable. I am using the HDMI in port on the monitor. If I read the manual I would probably find information regarding the display adjustment control being disabled using HDMI, but I haven't. The brightness and contrast are still available. I imagine if I had a DVI cable or wanted to use my VGA cable the H/V positioning options would be accessible.Regarding the initial border on the picture: I have an ATi 4850. All I had to do was download the Catalyst Control Center and change the Scaling. It was likely an issue with the video settings as opposed to the monitor, but hopefully that helps someone else. This was also an issue because text looked very bad while the image was scaled. When I fixed the scaling the text looked much better.Otherwise the menus are decent and no dead/stuck pixels. I look forward to buying a new stand so I can have rotate and height adjustment options. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-21-09 12:13 PM

Cons: Terrible blacks. White glow around edge of screen.

Pros: Cheap. Good menu. Not bad looking housing.
Comment:
This monitor is OK as a cheap TV, but is useless for any video editing or photo editing. The brightness variation across the screen is horrible. When the screen is black, a clearly distinguishable white glow can be see around the edge of the screen. It is not a high quality monitor by any stretch. Samsung is much better. Dell, at 2x the price, blows this away. I own all 3.

Cons: came with 1 stuck pixel

Pros: Looks very good, not bad colors for a TN
Comment:
This is a great looking and great performing Monitor. Of course like any other monitor, you have a high chance of getting one with a dead or stuck pixel which just happened to me but it might go away(stuck pixel). It really looks good, slim design, shiny and the mat screen prevents from sun glare. The 16/9 is great for watching movies and playing games and the monitor have plenty of connectivity.I highly recommend this monitor but strongly suggest you get the ZERO dead pixel insurance when you buy any monitors.

Cons: Makes me spend more time on the ps3 or computer, squeezing the life out of me.

Pros: Great quality especially for the money, 1920x1080 is the future.
Comment:
1920x1080 makes watching video content WAY better than a 1920x1200 because most blu-ray and dvd ect. were designed for a 1080 screen, so nothing is cropped. Setting up is easy, contrast is excellent, sense-eye is amazing. Blu-rays on ps3 are unmatched with the 1:1 pixel. No ghosting seen, data transfer for hdmi is great, seems like there are more fps while playing fast paced games. Looks sweet, I LOVE this monitor, It's the best monitor I have owned so far. Also, came out of the box with no dead and/or stuck pixels. Would recommend to anyone who likes to use their computer monitor for more than checking e-mail, oh, and reading e-mail IS sharper and more comfortable to read. two thumbs up :)

Great lcd, nice to finally have 16:9Really great to finally have a proper 16:9 lcd. I didn't know much about Benq quality wise but bought it because I really wanted a new 16:9 lcd. I was surprised it actually has great picture quality, even better then my old samsung 226bw.I have it hooked up to my pc with DVI and PS3 with HDMI. It works great and is easy to switch between them with a side button. Also sports a sound output tho i didn't test that.Unfortunately doesn't include hdmi or dvi cables, so I had to buy them seperately here at ncix, i bought basicly the cheapest open box ones here and they worked fine.Overall a nice lcd.. Tho I won't be keeping this one since it has 1 dead pixel so I will rma it (buy the express coverage)

Cons: weakass speakers, but better than on my MSI Wind :)

Pros: bright, crisp, clearnice casing
Comment:
I was trying to decide between this and the Samsung 2443BW-HAS 24IN (reg.$429, sale$329), and lucky for me both were on display at the vancouver store. They were hooked up to the same computer as extended displays, which was perfect for comparison purposes, since that rules out video card differences. At first the Samsung looked brighter and more colorful, but on closer exmamination, the text on the Samsung looked a little strange, whereas they were crisp and clear on the Benq. Also, after a few glances back and forth, the Samsung's color seemed overly saturated, whereas it's more refined on the Benq. Finally, there is noticeably graying on the edges of the Samsung if you look from an angle, but not with the Benq. The Samsung has a rotating, adjustable stand, but then I thought to myself 'how often have I felt the need to spin a monitor around, or move it up and down?'. Also, there's higher res on the Samsung, but I'll take the clarity over the pixel count. Aesthetically, the casing on the Benq is more elegant - glossy black acrylic vs. boring dark gray/black silicone or whatever they use on the Samsung.I've got it hooked up to my Wind with a bluetooth keyboard, which makes for a perfect productivity/portability solution. I haven't tried games or movies on it, since I have a larger LCD TV for that. It's used only for "doing stuff", both work-related and personal. That might seem like a bit of a waste, but at $345, it's an affordable luxury (I've been waiting a long time for 24 inchers to drop  below $350).
