DX 11, 1 GB DDR5 hardware appears fantastic on paper. For me there are too a lot of. Mainly ATI Catalyst software is terrible. I am not a gamer, I use it for video (HD and typical).I had a 9800GT that was operating fine, but wanted to get some thing newer possibly far more strong. ATI`s CCC panel is clunky and stops responding. No digital pass thru HDMI, should use onboard ATI/realtek sound. Video deinterlacing is not very great. No sound out on DVI port, even with ATI adapter. I wasted a week of my life trying to get this card to do what my 9800GT did. I did not see any improvement more than my old card. Following all the aggravation with this card this is most likely the last ATI card I will acquire. I brought this card mainly because I just updated to an AMD board and thought it would perform far better becoming AMD owns ATI. I went with Nvidia more than ATI five years ago when ATI switched to CCC. I believed soon after all this time ATI would get it proper, well I was incorrect. I will just hold my 9800GT for the time becoming.

I have built three systems for clients / buyers this month with multiples of this card in, every system runs like a dream.Beats the pants off of the Asus 2GB DDR5 X2 4870's I was going to use in their systems.Very cool even immediately after heavy benchmark testing & burning in the systems.Non of the driver concerns sween in these comments when making use of the AMD Radeon Drivers from the AMD/ATi Internet site & setting the bios up properly (more on that below in 'other thoughts').Huge savings compared to lesser capable cards, not as power hungry as other cards, standard Asus quality which suggests top rated notch gear in your case with effectively believed out technolgies.I have 3 extremely very pleased consumers / customers operating various crossfire configs of this card ƒ card & three card rigs).Asus forums & Asus help are worth searching at if you stumble with the cards, it is usually a plus to have knowledgable users & staff that read / write in their forums, minor issue resolved in much less than an hour from one particular post. Alas I bought a dozen of these cards from a dif' supply & even at bulk price they cost additional than here at Newegg.com.I really should have waited to see what newegg have been charging for these. It isn't actually a con as far as the cards & so the cards nonetheless get a complete 5 stars. The cards are only 128bit, when X-fired of course you get the very same 128bit per card a lot of of the 2X cards on the industry say 256bit but they are lumping two 128bit cards collectively... does that mean that 3 of these cards in x-fire are 128bit greater than 256bit?A question nevertheless & not a con...Otherwise there have been no cons at all. Initial & foremost, these cards work finest on Asus mobo's with an AMD chipset & Proc'...Even though they are not as power hungry as most cards out there right now, a great energy provide with a lot of spare power doesn't hurt, keeps a nice buffer for future upgrades as well.Generally verify your bios settings espesh' if making an X-fire machine.Had a minor dilemma with a single mobo with what looked like random voltage difficulties, turned out to be the default mobo settings causing the challenge & it wasn't voltage, just looked like it.Didn't find the need to overclock as these cards are pleanty quickly, overc locking isn't "Essential" any longer, there is a place for it but if you want to just play games & not be concerned about heat difficulties, keep at stock settings & you won't be dissapointed. In the 2 card X-fire setups all was fantastic after the bios was setup appropriately & new AMD/ATi drivers have been installed. The three cards technique (was going to be four card) showed a dink in functionality, significantly less pipes applied every single past 2nd card...

This issue is a beast. Even when its not overclocked, I can't get under 90 FPS on any game I've thrown at it no matter how high I turn up the settings. Granted, I haven't tried Crysis.Quite sturdy also. I accidentally dropped it and it slammed up against a wall just before hitting the tile floor, but the sturdy metal arm on the top rated of the card saved it from any damage.Employed all Asus parts for my create and I couldn't be happier. Only one particular GPU... as if that's a con lol. It doesn't do CUDA.

When the card worked, an superb performer. Slow death of the card and then poor RMA service. I've RMA'ed the card twice. The first dilemma was regular GPU recoveries simply when doing fundamental 2D operate like browsing. Immediately after RMA'ing the card - the new card behavior was to crash or hang during Flash video play back. RMA'ing the card got no improvement as the Flash video playback nevertheless causes it to blue screen or hang. ASUS customer service, while prompt, fails on handing the card on the actual return. I'm guessing they go for the manufacturing tests and a fundamental test system. I got the identical serial number card back for the 2nd RMA and there was no improvement in its avoidance of crashing.

An outstanding performer. I've had it for about 4 months, and there haven't been any problems with the card. I use MSI Afterburner to over/under-clock the card Ɠdǘd) to get just a bit a lot more out of it. Overclocked to 899 MHz core and 1353 MHz memory clock. Didnt mess with the core significantly. It's a modest overclock, and the temps are fine (about 75 C one hundred% load on Crysis 2) in a poorly ventilated case. It could run it at max every little thing at 50-ish fps 񡾀-1024). Not negative at all.... Fundamentally just CCC. Not quite stable, or beneficial. I got it on sale for about 120 bills, and it was a steal. For 145, I'd say it's a sturdy contender. I also play Two Worlds II 񢈀-1080) max details with hardly a hitch. Oblivion at similar rez with max particulars is also the identical, with 60+ indoors/dungeons, and about 45 low outdoors when searching quite far into the distance with some action in the foreground.I would recommend that any person seeking for a solid video card strongly contemplate this card. If it's on sale for บ+, I consider you need to obtain yours just before it's gone.

It's pretty quickly devoid of OC. Starcraft II CE sometimes crashes with an "Out of graphics memory" error, so I'm receiving one more a single. This is with each and every setting on MAX AA included; 1920x1200 on a 28" Viewsonic. Runs smoothly from a fresh boot, tears up Borderlands. Visuals are outstanding, despite the fact that it does run very hot, no huge deal. Pondering about receiving an additional mainly because of their great XFire prospective. Great bang for your buck. None so far apart from the slightly high temps.࿜C idle / 80-87C Under complete load for 1hr.) Note that I have a incredibly little eMachines case atm, but three additional fans installed. Excellent card, runs SC2 effortlessly. Effortless set up, what much more could I ask for? ...effectively... Really disappointed that I bought the card when I did. If I had just waited 3 much more days I would have certified for the ฤ rebate. Did I mention how disappointing that was? Asus? I can't totally express my displeasure with this complete rebate thing. Though they negatively influence my choices to obtain, it actually ticks me off when one is presented later on. Waiting for three-four months is also a different dinger.

All the pro's I listed before. It's been operating extremely well.My Vantage scores nearly doubled, as did my framerates in Black Ops and Poor Company 2.The 5770 is a real beast in Crossfire. It scores close to, or occasionally superior, than a 5870! As I later identified out, this cards cooler style leaves something to be desired. It does not vent hot air out of the case, so it will boost you ambient case temps slightly. Also, the factory setting for voltage were far in excess of normal.I also located that ignoring my instances card clip and alternatively making use of regular screws to secure my cards solved the issue posed by the metal support bracket on the ASUS unit. Screws are possibly a lot more secure anyway. I'm not sure if this is a case of ASUS getting a quality manage challenge, or if particular Crossfire configurations outcome in this, but I noticed a couple of days after receiving my card installed that the temps would skyrocket to 90C+ when testing with Furmark, and that gaming temps, even though reduced, have been also really higher.I assumed this was due to the cooler design and style and proceeded to start out an RMA. I then occurred to check the voltage in Afterburner, and found that it was a Incredibly higher 1.25v. The factory spec from AMD for this model is 1.125v. I manually turned down the voltage to factory, and now the card runs at a standard temp, albeit larger than the other card in crossfire that has an IceQ5 cooler. One thing for prospective owners to investigate if their unit runs as hot as mine did.

Quickly uncomplicated set up. Could have employed the DVI drivers but that was an uncomplicated repair. Crossfires nice. Operating 2 of these cards. I did not have a real high graphic game to test it on since the one I have been playing is nevertheless in Beta and the Beta is closed atm. Tried it on LoTRo went from 110 FPS with 1 card to 225 FPS with stock settings. Only complaint I have and this is not just with this card it is with all that have HDMI assistance....It would be good to see an HDMI cable in the box for a modify. I mean we took the time to buy your product, would be good to get a bonus as an alternative of having to commit another 50-60 bucks on a cable.

Good searching custom cooler, inexpensive value (possibly the cheapest Radeon 5770 1GB offered at the time) Custom cooler appears to be insufficient at cooling the gpu beneath load while gaming. I at first believed the difficulty was triggered by a single game by every single game I tried (SC2, GTA4, Wolfenstein, etc) all lead to tough freezes when the card was push also considerably. This occurs each time I attempted to play a game and every time I had to do a challenging reset/shutdown to the method. Tried distinct drivers and tweaks from suggestion on the internet to no avail. I ended up pulling this card and installing my old Sapphire Radeon 4850 512MB (which generally has been stable) and all games are running devoid of freezing again. Asus is fantastic as a motherboard manufacture. no doubt about that. But as a player in the efficiency graphics card space? not so substantially. This was my initial and likely final Asus vga acquire.

This card was affordable and came with a fantastic discount on other things. Adore the copper becoming utilised, I generally have to go aftermarket with heatsinks but this operates out well. Has setting on Ultra with Starcraft two. I have had a couple of blue screens of death, but I am using a new game that is nevertheless getting updates. Cost most and I had a mail in rebate to fill out. Overall I am keeping the card. This is teamed up with an i7 920, 6gbs of ddr3 ram, 875watt ps, and wd black 1tb hd. Plays Starcraft two on Ultra settings with ease and no lag (Starcraft two is based far more on the cpu energy). Study Nvidia 260 was the way to go with the game, but this plays smooth and less expensive.

A have a pair of these crossfired in an Antec 300 case with a AMD 720 x3 overclocked to 3.5ghz. I'm running five case fans in the 300 at medium with the one on the side blowing on the cards. A single card idles at 37c and the other at 34c with 30% stock fan speed. With the fans on each cards set at 48% (which is inaudible more than the case fans) and both cards loaded 95-one hundred% for 20 minutes my readings show 75c for 1 card and 77c for the other max temp which isn't also undesirable for a crossfire setup. Most typical games run the cards in the 60-72c variety. All these temps had been took in a 76F room. High performance DX11 for individuals on a budget for certain. I've had no tearing or microstuttering issues. Games play fantastic general. I can not get the DVI output to function on either card with my Samsung LED LCD 1080p Computer monitor which is extremely annoying. Almost certainly a driver issue, but a difficulty nonetheless. Had to use an HDMI to DVI adapter at the card. Employing HDMI only with my monitor ends up with blurry graphics and scaling troubles. Games crash a little far more than I'm use as well but practically nothing too significant. I'm very delighted with the cards and the performance they bring. My final ATI card was a x1950xtx from many years ago. This crossfire setup replaced a overclocked 260gtx 216sp. Ahead of that a 9600gt sli setup. I can finally play Crysis at Really High settings and BFBC2 Higher Settings at incredibly playable and high frame prices. The games are lastly enjoyable to play and appear wonderful. My motherboard has 1 x16 and a single x4 PCIE two. slot (Asus 770). My benchmarks come out about -3% much less than other benchmarks I've noticed on the net so a slow PCIE express slot shouldn't effect performance seriously. I under no circumstances thought I would jump ship from the green team, but I'm glad I did. ATI image excellent is wonderful. I paid less for two of these on sale than a launch value 465gtx which was just poor news for Nvidia. AMD demands to do a greater job with their drivers, but they are almost on par with the competitor.

Great graphics card. Initially one I received was DOA but, when the second one got right here it worked completely. Absolutely the very best bang for your buck. The fan makes it possible for the card to idle at 35C and when I max it out close to 50C.Absolutely fantastic for overclocking. Only unfavorable factor that occurred to me was that the card drivers would temporarily not respond. The dilemma was switch from something to a flash embeded file. I just got the add-on flash block and I haven't had the dilemma once more. Make confident you use the drivers from the internet rather than the one particular of the disk. I can't tension that sufficient. Get the most existing driver of the web since there appears to be a large hassle of uninstalling drivers just before your card will operate effectively.
