installed effortlessly, connected to the switch at 1gig tried installing this on two various dell dimension desktops but neither would cooperate at all. fortunately a dell vostro desktop happily accepted. i attribute this to dell, not this card as i'd previously tested it on a number of other name brand motherboards just fine. none

NIC was picked up and recognized by W2k3 w/out the want to set up extra drivers. Nowhere near the efficiency of an Intel NIC, also no where near the cost.

Price tag Negotiates to 1000Mbps/Full but doesn't really perform anywhere near the advertised speed. All of the other NICs on my network have a throughput of about 800 to 850 Mbps. This card only performs at about 250 Mbps. Intel cards are far superior. If you only will need to do about 250 Mbps and only have Ů to commit, this is the card for you. If Gig speeds are truly significant on your network, spend the further ฤ and buy an Intel card.

Price tag. I bought two of these cards. Right after I installed the first card into a Dell Inspiron 530, the machine would not boot, generating a strange clicking noises. I removed the 1st card and installed the second one particular. This time the Dell successfully booted into Windows 7 and installed it's drivers. Soon after 12 unique attempted network transfers every single transfer dropped, saying connection was lost. I sent each back to newegg. I don't suggest these NICs at all. The challenge did not appear to be driver connected. The initially card crashed the method, nonetheless, the second card, at first, appeared to intall appropriately, but would continually shed it's connection. In addition, optaining a IP address was slow. Horrible NIC!

Functions good with Knoppix Linux six.2, really quickly connects and runs well. Could not get it to function with win XP sp3, flakey XP drivers and blown out XP partition are suspected. Took off an egg given that XP hated it, otherwise a good bargin!

Functions at 1000 in a mixed atmosphere just fine. I have it hooked up to my D-Hyperlink 2208 10럼񲿘 Switch. It performs great connected and transfering files to my Mac which has 1000Mbps. It is actually more rapidly than my USB 2. external drive. Installed it on a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 machine and it worked correct away. I did update the drivers from on the internet, but I don't know if that did any issue beneficial. None

Totally none! This card is awful! Kudos to Newegg for the handling of the RMA. They do not work - attempted 24 cards in ten different models Ɣ diverse brands) - failure immediately after failure. Purchased 24 of these cards to set up in clients computers. 20 of them either would not operate at all or stopped the computer from booting. The ones that actually did perform, failed after 1-two weeks. We have had to return these cards. Newegg handled this really professionally. We attempted updating the bios, altering slots, etc. The computers would not even post with the card installed. You name it, Dell, Compaq, HP, Gateway, White box - the cards failed in each 1 of them. We did replace them with the Rosewell cards and almost everything worked out fine in the finish. I can\'t state strongly sufficient how undesirable these cards had been. I realize a failure or two but this was 100% failure.

operates, easy set up none so far installed on old dell dimension running xp pro 32 bit. completely decent for its application--8 hours/day of light use. dont know how it compares to other gig-e cards, but it's a clear improvement more than quickly-e. also unsure on how it would execute on server platform 24ǝ

Works properly under Linux, recognized w/o drivers below XP. Strong NIC in spite of what other people have mentioned of the Realtek chipset. If you're interested in significant functionality (enterprise or server, etc) then this isn't for you, but for every person else - it's fantastic.

Simple to set up in the slot? Slowest card I've ever owend. I don't know what's going on with this card but it tranfers at 1ǘMbps. It's horrifically slow. I've attempted it in Linux with the constructed in realtek kernel drivers and in XP with the newest drivers from the Realtek web-site. I'm going to have to exchange this card for something else. Wow it's undesirable.

Functions (and with Vista 64). Affordable. Incorporated driver is the wrong one particular. Vista's native driver worked and it was effortless to get the most existing driver from Realtek (don't get the Encore driver - their website is just as wrong as the driver on the integrated CD). Haven't been in a position to test the speed yet. But at least it operates, which is much more than I can say for onboard Intel Gig NIC (it doesn't work because Intel couldn't create a driver that worked for Vista 64).

Non at all but the cost. They drop connections, drop packets, and create horrible lag spikes! I have been a tech for ten years, I manage a computer system shop and have employed these nics beneath Windows XP SP2 and three, Vista SP2, Windows 7 and Dos running Ghost. These nics are horrible if it didn't cost more to ship them all back, I wouldn't have them, as an alternative they leave with the recycling subsequent week!

E-fail sellers want the similar value for a 200mbs transfer rate vrs. 1000mbs... cant beat the egg!!!Cards as expected appear to operate fine, even though unable however to get everything sorted. Purchased to set up a LAN, the driver disk worked fine on the XP house 32-bit but my XP Pro 64-bit don't want disk driver.Possessing an amazingly hard time receiving 2 pc LAN w/ internet access on these. Unsure what is going on and five hours working on it.OH well this n00b will study anything right here... Wish the "smart" part of this "smart card" could offer a freaking LAN wizard given that its advertised for this.I don't assume anyone has a wizard for LAN lol not anyones fault but my personal.Egg was quickly and wonderful as often... I stand by the egg you cant go incorrect ever. five stars.

- Good Value- Wonderful Price - Fantastic ValueI have gone locally to places like CompuZone and Computer Corner and they had the exact same card for โ... I was like are you kidding me! Newegg ROCKS!!! I am acquiring a Gig Full with no troubles on WinXP Pro SP3. However, windows did not recognize the card quickly when I logged in. Which is not a major deal simply because it came with the drivers disk... - I want you could get a cost-free order of McDonald's Fries with this card. ;) - Even even though Newegg got my the card to me in a handful of days. I really do not like there new shipping approaches of sending it very first via DHL then drop shipping via USPS. I guess I am old college... I liked the two - three day Fedex savers

Installs effortlessly in Linux and XP. Gets quicker speeds than one hundred Mbps cards (but only 2X quicker for my setup). Missing good capabilities of more expense cards that off load some of the function from the CPU (i.e. speed isn't as fantastic as a lot more costly cards).Would not function with my ATI Tv Wonder 650 installed. Some thing is incompatible when I have both cards on the same PCI bus. For what ever cause when I have each installed the technique will not let me energy-on the computer. I bought these cards for my Linux file server (using Samba) and XP function station. The transfer speeds I'm finding are no were close to 1 Gbps, but I think the limiting aspect is the CPU of the Linux system. It only has a two.eight GHz AMD Sempron. With these cards I get 150 Mbps for file transfers and if I'm just moving bits from a single card to the next I max out at 277 MbpsWith the previous 100 Mbps cards I was acquiring 70 Mbps for file transfers.

Cheap, Newegg usually ships fast, uncomplicated RMA I purchased two of these cards at 2 different times to set up in 2 distinct computers. Neither card would perform in either personal computer soon after attempting anything: BIOS update, drivers from disc, Realtek, Encore, unique slots, and so forth. Windows XP would report cable disconnect every ten-30 seconds, and never ever would remain connected. Possibly a conflict with the motherboard's onboard 100Mbps NIC (turned off in BIOS). However, both motherboards were from unique producers with different chipsets.
