I am completely delighted with this unit. I am using two of them as a point-to-point bridge. Though the manual is a bit weak, the units were pretty easy to configure. They connected flawlessly the first time. I am getting great throughput using the Super-G setting.

I needed to create a link from one house to another a few block apart. I purchased the EOC1650, which is similar to this model only less powerful. After a lot of hassel to create the link everything is up and running great. I use the link for all my home wifi needs as well as VOIP phone service and have no issue. Only suggestion, if you have never set this up but are looking to DIY read up on it as the EOC instruction manual sucks big time. Here is a hint, if you want to build a bridge, the antenna at the broadcast end needs to be an acess point not a bridge, make it with BSSID so no one can see it. Then use the proper cascading protocol according to your routers manufacturer as this will also create a problem. 100% recommend it though.

I used these to connect two buildings together that are two miles apart for a local business that is expanding. These are the best way by far I have found. They work great and the company is very helpful if you have any questions.

The title tells it all. These units are reliable - 2 years up and running in cottage country with no problems. I have them 30 feet up on towers and they are both outdoors exposed to the elements. These units are great value for the money. Mfgrs Tech support is also good.

The EOC-2610 is as simple as possible for an external wifi device. Wanted to be able to connect to other networks in the neighborhood, family and friends all live in a 5 block radius. Mounted it on a 10 foot chimney mast, total elevation 28 feet, plugged it in and ran thru the setup program, and minutes later was streaming data to all 5 of the remote wifi networks I wanted. The distance to the furthest network is just under a half mile, and the terrain is very hilly and filled with large old-growth trees. The 2610 is maintaining a rock solid plus22db at 45MBs with a thruput of 80 to 100 megabits. Has worked in 50 to 60mph winds with ice, sleet and rain and has not blinked once since it was set up over a month ago. For the price and ease of installation, this has got to be one of the best wifi goodies on the market.

Used two of these to bridge our networks. They are about 200 meters apart without clear line of site and I am getting a full 54MB link. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I have installed over a dozen of the older units in hotels aound town. I have now installed 5 of the new units (EOC-26100)and they have better coverage and are easier to install. I had problems with the older units when the temp. is over 110 degrees and will be watching these.

Pros: This bridge works great! I am using it in one building to connect to a Linksys 11G access point in another building. Strong enough signal that I mounted the bridge indoors instead of outdoors. There are LEDs on the back of the unit that show signal strength which is a great help during install. Very flexible as well, can be deployed as an AP, WDS bridge, and Client bridge. All for an excellent price. Cons: It isn't compatible with standards-based 802.3af PoE power over ethernet. This isn't a huge problem, however, since this unit comes with a PoE injector and power supply. Overall: I would definitely buy one of these again for similar projects.

I have installed about 10 of these and have only had problems with one. On the one with the problem EnGenius tech support was very helpful and replaced the unit under the warranty with out any problems. I used 2 in a bridge about 500 yards apart and it has worked every day with out issue for 6 months. Great product especially for the price.

I am using them in extreme outdoor conditions and have not had a problem yet. The setup menu is easy to follow and well layed out. The output power is adjustable. With the flick of a switch you can either use the built in panel antenna or connect your own external antenna. Great flexibility and features, all the while still the least expensive access point on the market. Value is 6 out of 5.

I'm deployed to Afghanistan and using a VSAT for internet. I needed to push the signal about 400 yards. This device worked too good and I had to turn it down. The signal was pushing over a mile. I love it.

Cons: Took a month to get it due to stock issues. Can use internal OR external antenna only.

Pros: 600mwRange is good compared to other "equal" AP'sInterface is easy to use if you are familiar with what everything does.External antenna compatible*

This is what I do for a living. I use this and similar equipment all the time. Engenius products are reliable and powerful. This one is no exception. The firmware is easy to use, although you have to click more than other AP's...but for the power and quality these are, its worth it. The only thing I am disappointed in was the fact you cant run multi ssid's like on their other units (or I missed it somewhere). What would be nice is being able to use WDS off the panel and then a separate SSID on an omni. Would be a great cost saver to customers so they don't have to buy a router for the endpoint too!!! You can use their routers in Repeater mode on a good antenna receiving if you need to, although that limits the range these AP's were built for as the strongest router is only 200mw!

We live in a house on the back of our church property - too far from the road for a cable internet connection. I'm using this in client bridge mode accessing a router in our administration building probably 300 plus feet away. I was not too familiar with setting up networking but installation and setup was flawless. I mounted it outside on a short pole mount facing toward the room where the router is and we're getting a 10Mbs plus internet connection speed. We have had no problems with it AT ALL since installation, about two months now. I would recommend this without hesitation.

Love this unit, especially with the openmesh firmware installed... however, a little over priced here and have found an alternative source for 20 percent less cost landed at my door and lots of stock. Otherwise, You can't go wrong with this device.... The BEST Value-Performer you can get IMHO.

I ended up buying two of these to use in WDS mode using the stock firmware out at my farm to link back to the farmhouse where I have DSL. I have had them installed for about a month now and they are working great. They have survived several weeks of rain but I am waiting to see how they handle the snow and ice over the next few months. They have been reliable so far. I did have one of them turn down the Ethernet port when it received a bogus 802.1x request but I saw that in the log and rebooted it and it came back up. I am a Network Engineer by trade and I normally work with big C wireless equipment but I needed something inexpensive for my farm that was outdoor capable. I haven't quite decided whether or not to buy the WRT firmware for these yet so I can't comment on that but the stock firmware has done everything I want on the wireless side so far and I have a WRT router on the DSL side so I get my Internet facing functionality from that.
