Cons: - Still not fast enough- Not great with Windows 7

Pros: - Battery Life- 10" Screen
Comment:
I've been an EEE fan since the 1st 4G Surf which I had. However the 7" was just way too small. So this became my next EEE. Battery life is awesome on this one, however it does get a bit warm because of the non-SSD. It is an awesome machine to watch tv shows and browse the web though.

Cons: None as far as i know

Pros: The keypad is very comfortable and doesn't feel cheap or small at all. The battery life varies from 7-9 hours which is a considerable length of time compared to other netbooks. A very portable netbook to travel with.
Comment:
Its a great netbook for ppl who r always on the go. I took this netbook on a 3month trip to China and I am very satisfied with it. The SD card slot is very helpful if ur camera uses SD cards. The charger works great even in china where the voltage 220v. Great product overall.

Cons: -Large border around the screen-thicker than other netbooks-Can not do HD playback

Pros: -Battery life-Keyboard size-Multitouch keypad
Comment:
I guess I'll speak about the weaknesses that aren't really weaknesses. The large border around the screen was necessary to make the keyboard so large. The computer itself thicker to facilitate the higher capacity battery. The atom can't churn out HD content.I easily squeeze 6 hours of SD video playback on the machine. All in all for my purposes, taking notes watching SD video and playing 10 year old computer games this is was a great purchase.

Cons: Glossy makes finger prints noticeable

Pros: Battery lifeKeyboard layout
Comment:
A nice compact computer I've been carrying around just about where ever I go. The keyboard is small as expect and requires time getting use to, but I really like the layout for this compared to some others. The fan may be considered to be a little noisy. The aesthetics are not as nice as some others, but it's got enough features for it's price range.

Cons: glossy finish attracts finger prints easily

Pros: light weight, very portable, great battery life
Comment:
I purchased it mainly for "on the go". I am very satisfied with the build quality and features on this little netbook. I even think it could be a substitute for laptop/desktop for people who are not demanding a lot of computing powers. The keyboard is bit small but still offers sufficient typing comfort. 10" screen is way better than an 8.9", believe it or not, that 1" makes a lot of difference. And the most amazing is the battery life. Although it did not last as it claims 9.5hrs, I am averaging 6.5-7hrs of usage in one charge. It handles those daily tasks pretty well like checking emails, internet, watching movies, online chatting etc. All in all, it is an excellent and I hightly recommend it.

Cons: - none

Pros: - Battery Life- Keyboard (size/chiclets/shift keys)
Comment:
- i prefer this over my aspire one 150 and my rent's U100. The keyboard is perfect, size and key positioning. The highlight of this product for me is the battery life, easily hitting 9 hours for me when i disable bluetooth/camaera and dim the screen. With the Wifi on taking notes all day in class works out perfect.

Cons: Touch pad can be finicky (maybe just me)

Pros: Portability, Battery Life, Wireless Card, range of wireless, Keyboard (in this class), Ease of Use
Comment:
We have two other older laptops at home, which can be a pain to lug around. This is great for taking on the road to surf, do word processing, and even some minor picture editing. I took the unit to San Francisco and was able to update the website I do videogame reviews for, all without any issues.I updated the RAM with a 2 gig unit picked up at NCIX. Did it myself and if I can, anyone can. There is no doubt that this is unit is not a processing powerhouse, but man it can do the job adequately, which given the size, price and portability, is great. I kept my expectations to a minimum in this area, as this is a netbook, and I was not disappointed.I found the fan noise very tolerable. I noted when it went on, but I never was annoyed by it, nor do I find the noise intrusive. I rarely recognize it is even on, and when I do it is very quiet. The keyboard really surpised me as I have been able to type quite speedily even though it is not a full size keyboard. I also like the chiclet keyboard too.The wireless realy surprises me. I have taken this netbook the third story of our house, with my router being in the first floor on the other side of the house, and I was able to surf flawlessly and quite quickly. Able to DL movies at a brisk pace and stream video without a hitch.Battery life is self explanatory, long and useful.Overall I am very happy with this unit so far, but the BIG test will be when I hit L.A. for E3 and have lots more portable updating of news.I have recommended this to my friends. Heck, even a passenger on my flight to San Fran this week took a liking to the unit and I let him check it out.WAY TO GO ASUS. Wow impressive!I bought it for our trip to Ireland so we could post photos and keep in touch with friends & family.I added Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007 with GPS and Autoroute Europe, this became the the ultimate portable GPS.On the flight home I edited pictures for almost seven hours and still had over two hours battery left.

Pros: built-in wireless and bluetooth.up to 9 hrs of battery life.ultra portable.ease of use.easy to upgrade the memory.you will fall in love with it.

This is my first laptop. I chose this because i don't need to have all the bells and whistles. Just some thing to have web access and do some minor work on, with portability in mind.I'm very happy with this purchase and you will be too if it fits your criteria like it did mine. Cons: Keyboard flexA bit on the warm sideStiff touchpad buttons

Pros: Keyboard sizeGood battery lifeIncludes a soft case and soft cloth for those greasy fingers
Comment:
Overall I'm very impressed by this product. The standard resolution is 1024x600 but you can change it to 1024x768 compressed to play those games that require this as the minimum resolution. 1024x768 compressed is mainly for games, as it's usable for office work. The keyboard has a very nice size. My fingers were resting in their natural position on the keyboard. Didn't felt uncomfortable at all. Very few typing mistakes made. The keyboard flex was an issue initially, after reading up some forums, people suggested putting extra tape on the bottom of the keyboard and that fixed it for me. I still mark this as a weakness since it should of been solved at the factory. The bottom of the netbook is a bit too warm for me. It's not hot to the touch, even on full load. It is just very warm for my tastes. The bottom seems to be a bit hotter when the power profile is set to Power Saver vs High Performance. Regardless, I prefer to put the netbook on a table vs on my lap.In a very quiet environment I can hear the fan and HD clicking. I'm not in this type of environment normally so it doesn't bother me.

Great for portable non power users. I use this to show clients different mockups and stuff so I don't do anything extensive with it. Works great for traveling, and getting online.

Cons: Keyboard flex, fan hum can be somewhat loud

Pros: Screen, keyboard size, battery life, weight
Comment:
Great little device overall. A quick rundown:- It's extremely portable- The 10" screen and 1024x600 resolution is actually practical for viewing pdfs, word docs, webpages- Fairly snappy (although nothing earth shattering and I did install another gig of ram in it, which was easy)- Above-average (but not amazing) viewing angles- I get 7.25 hours of battery life doing normal tasks, which is superb- Keyboard is easy to type on; hardly any typosThe bad:- Some touchpad lag, especially when scrolling- Horrendous keyboard flex; I worry that I'm going to break the thing one day. Feels very flimsy and wobbly, especially compared to the HP mini.- The fan is louder than I would like, considering I take this into libraries. Still, it's not atrocious, but it might annoy the people around you.I do recommend it, especially at the price, but keep in mind the drawbacks.

Cons: mouse buttons are a little stiff. would be nice if they required a little less effort to push down

Pros: LOOONG battery life, light, small, durable, good looks, asus quality, card reader is flush, keyboard layout is proper, integrated wireless N, webcam, Bluetooth, etc. etc etc etc
Comment:
Got one for my sis to replace her DOA 1000HA. This is essentially the same, but with a longer battery life, a faster and lower power CPU (faster FSB), added bluetooth and and wireless N, LED backlight display, and a better keyboard layout. She couldn't be happier. No need to lug a heavy notebook to school every day, and no need to charge up all the time. Great for watching movies on too. so tempted to get one for myself, now i just need to justify having one lol

Cons: over sensitive touch pad. Kepyboard feels a little flimsy.

Pros: Great battery life
Comment:
Overall I am happy with my purchase. The long battery life is what sold me and continues to make me satisfied with my purchase. I usually get around 8 hours on it. The touchpad is very sensitive and I find that I am accidently enlarging/decreasing the screen size while scrolling. This doesn't bother me too much as I prefer using a mouse anyway. The keyboard also has a cheap feel to it and when I type it rattles. But those would be the only negatives so far, and in my opinion they aren't terrible to live with. I am giving it a 4 star rating mainly because I love the battery life so much.

Cons: No opt Drive or Modem

Pros: Very quite audio card
Comment:
I purchased this for my “on the road” machine. I do not feel like spending a lot of cash to upgrade all my software to Vista so XP was big selling point. What was a big surprise was the realtek audio cards low noise floor. With a new machine the first thing I do is slap an upgrade card or a USB external box but this didn't need it at all.Everything has worked with very little tweaking. No bloat ware! Great hot key set up, Did a power point show the next day, screen options are simple push of Fn keys. Performance is on par with any P4 I've used.

Cons: Flimsy keyboard, dimmer screen with LED backlight

Pros: Longer battery life, good price
Comment:
My 1000HE arrived yesterday. I expected it to be a substantial improvement over the older 1000HD I already have, but it isn't. Battery life is better, 7.5 hours vs. 4.5 on the older one. Not exactly the advertised 9.5 hours, but that number cannot be achieved in realistic conditions of use anyway. Other noticeable difference is a new chiclet keyboard, but other than now properly placed right Shift key, I wouldn't say it's an improvement. When depressed, the key travel is shallower; the whole keyboard feels flimsy under fingers and rattles while typing. Maybe I got a lemon. Another downside: the screen backlight is now LED, not the fluorescent bulb like in the other one. While that helps with extending the battery life due to lower energy consumption, the screen is considerably less bright. Even on the maximum brightness setting, it is dimmer than the old one with fluorescent backlight set on roughly 75% of the maximum. Thanks to a new driver, the touchpad now supports more navigating gestures and some of them are customizable. Although not very noisy, the fan is louder with higher, more annoying pitch. Some of the (potentially useful) software from the old 1000HD is not installed on the new 1000HE: the ECAP, webcam capture utility, as well as MS Works. The biggest upside is considerably longer battery life on the similarly capable netbook and you can get it for less money now. Overall very impressed with this so far.Msconfig'd a few non-essential services and it has 720mb free ram at bootup. Have since upgraded to W7 and 2GB of ram, works very well, better than I had expected. I would still upgrade the RAM to 2GB if only using XP.Drives are partitioned into 2 sections (with a hidden reformat system on the 2nd I believe)C:/ 81.6GB totalD:/ 62.4GB totalComes with XP disc and all drivers but machine will reformat from a hidden partition as well, making as external DVD drive un-necessary for a reformat. After using this extensively for about a year (minus just a few months) I can still recommend a 5 star rating. It's a well built netbook and the different power saving options are a nice addition. Get about 6-7.5 hours on "super performance" and over 9 with the power saving mode. Still recommending this model even after the months that have passed. Haven't seen one that really impressed me since this.
