When opening up the box to this PSU I had a sense that this point was a beast and it is. It weighs a ton, the packaging is extremely nice but not more than the top as I've noticed in other testimonials about the corsair expert series PSU's (the other which I was contemplating an 850w gold). This enermax PSU is packaged well adequate to keep the PSU and all the critical parts protected, comes with a carry bag for extra cables. It also came with a 120mm fan as bonus (I describe additional in other thoughts). Initial thing I noticed was its very large good quality textured finish. This got a bit scratched as I squeezed the unit into an antec 300 case (not PSU's fault). I like the fact that the 24pin and the 8 pin motherboard connectors are are not modular. It appears appropriate that these connectors will need not be modular. There's a handful of other non modular cables as well. Its very quiet but emits a high high quality sounding hum. The PSU stays on for about 30 seconds immediately after the computer is shut down to cool the system. None I seriously like the unit. Maybe someone with far more techi knowledge could discover a thing to nitpick about but I could uncover no flaws. I went with the 920w simply because according to a PSU calculator I utilized, this wattage would be adequate to run all my pc program components and have a crossfire setup with two Radeon HD 6870 turbos. Haven't got two cards but but I'll be prepared to make the jump power wise. I'll have to nix my antec 300 case for crossfire it'll be too tiny, need complete tower. I gotta talk about the fan that came with this unit for a sec simply because its quite neat. The bonus 120mm fan that comes with the PSU is chrome painted or additional likely chrome plated. It has a ring of a number of quite bright white surface mounted leds which are mounted flush about the inner fan housing. The fan makes use of a connector for mounting to motherboard and a little switch to handle the light functions on, off, blinking, and so on. With the leds lit up and shining on the chrome fan in operation, it makes a cool swirl impact. Its a fairly neat bonus truly.

Initial of all, when you very first pick up the box that this PSU comes with and you appear at the top quality and detail they place into the box none the much less and the weight of it, speaks volumes. This PSU screams beast from the moment you appear at it, the finish looks good, goes effectively with my red and black color scheme.Initial boot to now, has run with out a hitch. Enermax continues to make a name for itself as a leading tier PSU brand. None. Was considering the Corsair 850 but...I figured I'd invest the further alter and get some thing I wanted rather of settling with anything else. I'm glad I did, bring about the good quality and overall satisfaction of what I paid for blew me away. I could of paid 躔 for this PSU and still felt it was way worth it.

Don't know since DOA I have generally applied Enermax PSU but this one particular ended up DOA. And Enermax technical assistance was nil. Thanks to Newegg for taking the return. I ended up purchasing Antec 1200W PSU and it is operating effectively

Cons: On board Fan

Pros: Typical Enermax QualityMore cables than you can shake a stick atpriceVery quiet
Comment:
When I first received this the fan started making a lot of noise and causing vibration after about 24 hours use. This is apparently a known issue with these fans caused during shipping. However NCIX RMA turnaround was very quick and the replacement has shown no such issues. This is my 4th Enermax PS and I have always been happy with the quality, lots of cable options including 6 x PCIe 6+2 allowing triple crossfire or SLI with dual power video cards without needing an adaptor. With all the features on this PS and 80+ silver certification and a pricematch of under $170 you'd be hard pressed to find a better power supply, whatever your needs.
