I got what I paid for; a DVD Writer and Reader. It has worked great with my Acer Aspire 1810TZ. I've watched movies, burned DVD and CD's and the thing has worked great. |

I purchased a laptop that did not have a disk drive and I needed to backup Windows 7. I purchased the Slim External DVD Writer and I was able to backup my operating system very quickly. Very easy to use. |

DVD drive installs easily with included nero SW and is a slim as I hoped for my daughter to use at college. Be aware that you may need 2 USB ports to power this drive, depending on your PC or laptop USB power setup. My new laptop USB port did supply enough power from one USB port, but some will require two USB ports. |

bought this for my netbook. it does everything and fast! yes the cord is short but plugging in only one plug works for me so i just use another usb cable |

As one reviewer already stated, the cabling is too short. I used a USB extension cable to connect to my machine. Lightscribe does work. They should drop the price a bit more and eliminate the Nero bloatware. |

After multiple attempts of trying to return the item for being a failure. It doesn't do lightscribe as advertised. All type of cd don't work. |

I use this with my Acer Netbook and it works great! I would recommend it if you need an external drive.
