Wonderful style. Love the USB cable constructed in and the potability. I can see how a short can happen where the usb cable comes out of the case. The case is slightly larger than an iphone. I was using a hitachi 320gb 7200rpm drive and it was seriously quickly by way of esata. Was extremely quiet also. As well negative it died. I'm receiving a western digital now. New egg quite helpful in obtaining rma. I would have given 5 starts if my drive didn't die. Look at my pros

Works just like it's supposed to. The screw on the side where the cable goes into the case is a little challenging to get to. It doesn't use a normal SATA cable. It is a strong feeling tiny drive. Incredibly thin.

1. Powered by means of 1 usb port! But comes with a dual usb head cable if you have low powered ports.two. eSATA includedthree. Quite slim but still feels pretty substantial.four. Despite the stated compatibility it DOES work with my 750GB drive. 1. Blue light is a bit more than-vibrant.2. No external power-provide(wall wart) for running on eSATA without having tying up a USB port. Honestly the best external two.five enclosure I've utilized.

Nothing at all It only functions when it wants to. I've attempted working with it in several computer systems and it only performs from time to time. The computers that I have used it in has problems reading it. My other sata challenging drive enclosures work fine...this item is just terrible. Don't waist your money on this one.

Little, aluminum, E-Sata. I place my old Laptop Drive in, plugged in the E-Sata Cable then the attached USB cable (for energy), windows Vista 64 Premium identified it instantly. I've under no circumstances noticed it get very hot at all. I've employed it off and on for about three months now and it still operates perfectly. Amazing enclosure. mmm.... Uhhhh..... It didn't come with an AC power adapter?!?!? 1 could be hassle-free to totally free up the USB port utilised to energy it up. I just bought a USB hub for all the additional "toys" I wanted to plug in. Just a extremely nice Drive Enclosure.

Each USB and eSATA. No external USB cable expected. USB connection stopped working on two units. No aid from Eagle tech assistance. I actually liked the first unit I bought, so I got one particular additional. Now each have the exact same challenge. When connected to a USB port the drive is initially recognized, then the red light goes on and stays on, and the drive can no longer be read. This occurs about 80% of the time, on multiple computers. The eSATA works just fine on each. I tried to get aid from Eagle Tech Support, but got no reply.

-Works with my 500GB WD Scorpio Blue drive employing the eSATA interface connected to a ECESATA1 card.-Extremely compact enclosure-Super handy constructed in USB cable-Holds drive incredibly well, even without having screws on the endcap-Came with almost everything that was needed: eSATA cable, USB-> energy cable, and a USB splitter-A little bag of further screws is taped inside the box in case you lose some -USB didn't function-Utilizes ultra-vibrant LEDs. The activity light is okay, but the energy light is on all the time and is an eye-searing blue. Cover it with tape or replace them (LEDs are SMD not by way of-hole)-Microscopic screws are employed all through. This is almost certainly a design selection, but with one thing like this function really should be prioritized over kind Good quality handle is a bit iffy. Don't be surprised if USB or eSATA interfaces don't function.I strategy on replacing this enclosure in order to get a single with a operating USB. If that worked from the start, it would've gotten five eggs.

This enclosure is amazing! All the hdds I've utilised with it (including 7200 rpm ones) worked just with the attached USB cable, no need to have for extra USB. Also, it's great that it is attached, rather than acquiring a separate connector. Another good issue is that when altering the hdd, you dont require work on any screws. But it does have two optional screws, if you feel the will need to tighten the cap up. And nevertheless an additional good factor is when using esata you can power it with the built in usb cable, no need to have for added power cable, like on most other enclosures.Excellent top quality construct as well! A lot far better than other enclosures, and I've also seen additional high-priced ones. Can't assume of any!

Straightforward to install, built-in USB cable, USB *and* eSATA ports, consists of eSATA and USB cables. Other enclosures I've bought didn't incorporate an eSATA cable, but this 1 includes anything you will need to use its functionality. Supports my 500GB drive though specs say only (up to) 320GB supported. Design not as sleek as I'm utilised to but still decent, I guess. I would've liked a carrying pouch to store it in when traveling. Did NOT support my 640GB WD notebook drive, but I can't blame the enclosure due to the fact the specs state it would not. Though the specs on this drive say it only functions with (up to) 320GB drives, I took a possibility and purchased a 640GB WD Scorpio Blue drive in the hopes that it would function. The 640GB drive performs fine when working with eSATA, but only functions with USB if I have the enclosure connected to the pc when I power the computer on. If I subsequently disconnect it, I can't get it to reconnect again with no powering the pc off. I then installed a 500GB drive I have (WD S Blue once more) and it works fine all the way around - both eSATA and USB, connect and disconnect with the computer on, specifically as one particular would count on. So I'm making use of it with my 500GB drive and I'm going to uncover a different eSATA/USB enclosure for my 640GB drive. General, this is a fantastic tiny enclosure and when making use of eSATA it is extremely rapidly. I strategy to shop Tv shows on the drive in it: copy them to the device through eSATA then play them on my DVD player via the USB port. The external cable, while very short, is excellent for that. Suggested.

Its been recognized by every single computer its been plugged into. eSata performs extremely vast. Only needing one usb plug to power the drive is brilliant. To my understanding some computers usb ports might not have the juice for one particular plug so they give you an extra. I haven't run into that issue. none The hard drive had plenty of space to fit in the enclosure.

Looks nice, USB data transfer worked as it must E-SATA would not work at all and ahead of I get flamed for not plugging it in ideal I had the USB energy adapter plugged in and even tried the USB splitter in case it wasn't obtaining sufficient power. I had to wiggle the cable in order for the computer to recognize it and then it would freeze the Pc as soon as I started to transfer any data more than E-SATA. I am incredibly unhappy with this and will be going for an additional mfg all collectively. I took a opportunity with an unknown mfg and got burnt. Most of the critiques were fantastic and there were a handful of with my problem. Guess it was my turn to get a dud.

eSATA - quickly when it performs, usb to 5v cable, USB functions fine. Lastly, I can boot Vista from an "external" drive. Great buyer service from newegg, but I suggested they look at dropping this item. I could update when I get the replacement. Price tag. Following three days of head scratching, it turns out I got one with a flaky eSATA connector (at the case). Have to jiggle it to get eSATA working. The board gets HOT in betwen the eSATA and 5v input. I don't uncover attached USB cable extremely helpful/useful. I don't like the design - substantially favor my Transcend USB case. This was my initially defective item I got from Newegg, and consumer service is Excellent! This unit was not the ideal decision for my 1st eSATA knowledge... With the flaky connector fighting me all the way, I spent 3 days attempting diff factors such as how to get AHCI enabled (I wanted "hotswap") on mobo BIOS and have Vista boot with no BSOD. Check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb for AHCI registry crucial "fix". To get just power via USB and data thorugh eSATA, just connect the "power only connector" on the USB Y cable to the Computer - this is the USB connector attached with the thinner cable.

Rather possibly the greatest enclosure I've ever owned. Lightweight, aluminum physique with plastic finish caps, a LANYARD HOLE on the back corner, attached USB cable which is not distracting from the general design at all. Mine came with a single of the screw lugs missing from the endcap, not a Actually massive deal as you don't will need to secure the endcap with the supplied screws unless you intend to deal with it roughly. Crucial SSD works good in this enclosure. I thought the connector inside was backwards, it appears the SSD is upside down, once again no biggie. haha Vital need to install their sticker on the prime, not the bottom of their drive. My intent for this enclosure is to host a larger drive for media and other storage, ESATA will come in handy moving around files.

I just got this enclose these days and I will say that it’s great, compact and portable. The built in cable tends to make it a great grab and go storage unit. When I plugged in the eSata cable my laptop was reading it just fine but it was hanging up in the middle of big files. Soon after hours of hunting for a resolution to this situation I discovered that this is a really common point. The dilemma is that there is an concern with the speed of date transfer of 3Gbps so after hours of roaming the internet I located that you have to set the challenging drive’s jumpers to run on 1.5Gbps. I did it and it Works!!!! What a discomfort. It could not run at 3Gbps like it states but 1.5Gbps is far better than USB two. any day. If you want it as an USB drive then this is the way to go. As for eSata II 3.Gbps no way but for eSata I at 1.5Gbps then its ight...

This item worked good out of the box. It has the convenience of USB and the speed with the eSATA connection. The built in USB cable is wonderful and reduces clutter. There is no require to use numerous USB ports (as long as you use USB 2.). I would have liked if it came with a good travel case. Personally I use multiple external drives and have a big case for all of them... but nonetheless. If your searching for an enclosure with each the speed and comfort of USB and eSATA this item is good.

Works with Linux :)My BIOS sees the drive and Boots from it. (HP elitebook 8530w)I boot OpenBSD and OpenSolaris off of this through eSATA :)Linux sets the drive to "/dev/sdb"Looks very good:) 3.0GB/s eSATA :) none.I like that the aluminum doesn't touch the HHD. That way if it gets a hit the impact is taken out on the case and not direct hit to the HHD inside. The situation will nevertheless absorb and release all the radiating heat form the HHD. It doesn't get hot at all. I could not get it to work when I first got it.Could have been "me=dumb"<<probably, or now I have a new HHD in there 160GB Fuji just before I had a 250GB Hitachi. I have a new Laptop before I had a Lenovo Ideapad Y510. I am now working with eSATA just before I was utilizing USB.Note, I have to have this plugged in when before I boot. If I boot and then plug in the drive Linux will not see it at all.Note: Even on the box it has..."Windows, bla bla, Mac OS bla, or Higher Linux"The instructions manual didn't have the Linux tacked on the end but the Box dose.

Good device, looks great, very effortless to use and deal with and gets the job performed. Quite secure as well. Contains eSATA cable, and USB mounted as wrap to unit, quite organized. eSATA drives can be down fall. USB power to this type of drive, when heavily utilized outcomes in the drive not keeping up, causing a memory dump if the eSATA drive is the main windows drive. Don't actually blame the product, just the technology built utilized to produce it. Having a separate power choice other than USB would be nice. May possibly support decrease the cons.

Little, light, sophisticated styling, anodized finish, looks qualified, permanently-attached USB cable stows away perfectly properly and its twelve inches is extended sufficient for nearly all my work. All cords I could possibly want are supplied. Powers very nicely from a single USB port. Somewhat affordable. I have examined it closely and can\'t discover any cons. I've owned this only a couple of days; but, I have currently utilised it on 3 desktop computer systems without having matters. I don't use ESATA and don't have something with which to test it so I can't write something on that topic. The screws are tiny so I'll offer this: Don't overtighten them; it isn't necessary to go beyond lightly snug. There appears to be too considerably fascination in too quite a few technical fields with black--almost every little thing is black. Obtaining black objects in a black bag or case full of other black objects is difficult from time to time even in daylight.

InexpensiveHolds up to a 320gb tough driveBuilt-in USB cableComes with eSATA, usb splitter, external USB power cables No carrying case, that's about it I was worried about shopping for something that by no means had any evaluations, but I'm glad I did. Immediately after buying four diverse enclosures at a distinct shop, nothing seemed to operate - neither a 160gb sata drive nore a 320gb drive. Bought this one particular, slapped it in and it fired correct up. The USB cable is built in and wraps securely about the unit. And the cable has a braided outer shell, which is a good touch to see. Comes with an eSATA, USB splitter and USB power cables, and a CD of computer software such as a totally free copy of Avast AV. It's a speedy drive too - no official benchmarks but by way of esata it feels like any other hdd in my system. I'm very content I purchased this and would acquire an additional 1 in a heartbeat!

Remarkable. As usual Newegg pulls by means of. My 1st drive was merely a manufacturing fluke, they're bound to happen. I was on the telephone with NewEgg for a total of five minutes and they had been already overnighting me a new one. The enclosure is remarkable. Absolutely best for what I required. None that I can locate. I have not but had a chance to try eSata, but if it works as well as the rest of the enclosure, then you have absolutely nothing to be concerned about. Please see my prior post (the 1 suitable ahead of this) for more facts on the drive. This is merely a repost, as promised, reviewing the enclosure I received immediately after I requested an RMA.
