Lots of device selections Was either defective or doesn't work with any of my hardware. Manual/Instructions are pathetic. Buyer assistance website for eagle STINKS. I'm not positive if my device was defective or what, but I couldn't make this thing work reliably at all.The eSata capability flat out wouldn't work. No matter how a lot of instances I verified all my settings, Windows disk manager would see the disk device, I would attempt to initialize/format it, and five seconds later I'd get an error saying "device not connected". I would have to reboot the personal computer for it to even detect the device once again, but the similar thing would take place. Tried numerous cables, no alter. Tried numerous disks... similar deal. With USB it wasn't substantially better. Sometimes it would see a disk device, often it would even let me write to it, but inside about five minutes it would often get hung, freeze Windows Explorer, or just merely "disappear", no matter what disk I applied and no matter which USB port I plugged into.Possibly it was defective... but whatever. I'm returning it.

Virtually every thing operates - USB hub, memory readers and SATA drives. Would not read my SSD Drives! It looks like a direct copy of my Thermaltake unit in shape and size.

Comment:
Smaller footprint, hot swap sata drives, eSata connection is rapidly, extremely stable construction ( not a lightweight peice of plastic ) I only wish there had been two bays for tricky drives on this model. I've had this model for about 5 months now and it is invaluable to me. I'm regularly possessing to adjust out user's computer's and laptops. Getting able to set this on their desk with their old difficult drive in it for them to copy over all their files is so convenient. It operates fantastic for me personally for doing backup to disk operations. I can image my whole computer more than to this external challenging drive, then store it in situation my machine ever goes down. The eSata is really quick, I can ghost over a 160GB image in about 15 minutes. Card readers and usb ports are a bonus, really removed a lot of clutter from my desk.

Cons: Cheap construction.

Pros: Inexpensive, also a card reader and comes with extra USB ports.
Comment:
I own two Thermaltake SATA drive docking stations and needed another one so I decided to take a chance on this Eagle Tech because it was cheap. Well you get what you pay for because the material is indeed very cheap and the hard drive doesn't slide in smoothly like it should; the slots are a little too tight. The product works as it should, but if I had to purchase another docking station, I would go back with Thermaltakefor for a better construction.

Cons: Driver CD was scratched, did not work

Pros: It seemed to be powering up
Comment:
Product did not give power to the HDD. They did not even spin up. Everything was hooked up properly. The card reader fucntioned, but only ONE of them.

Comment:
ESATA SpeedNo cage required to connect internal SATA drives externally Would be good to be able to connect the USB and ESATA cables at the similar time so you could use ESATA for the drive while utilizing USB for the card reader and USB hub. I saw a few individuals comment that the hot plug function doesn't function... it really works just fine but you have to have your SATA controller running in AHCI mode (not IDE emulation). The no hot plug limitation when operating in IDE emulation mode on your controller has nothing to do with this dock. It is a property of the SATA controller you are connecting the ESATA cable to.

Cons: Blue back up button stays lit even when powered off.

Pros: Extra USB ports...price
Comment:
Purchased with mail in rebate in effect. The rebate has been verified and am waiting for it to arrive from Canada Post. The dock itself has a durable build. Transfer speeds are fast using the esata port. Love the extra USB ports. My only pet peeve is the blue glow from a button used to activate back up software. It stays on even when the dock is not powered or switched off.

Cons: - may have some compatibility issue with some hardware- too short SATA cable- power button can be easily missed on first use

Pros: - cheap- card readers- can be used as USB hub - compatible with 2.5 drives
Comment:
I bought this with a SATA 2gb hard drive. It a great tool for people like me who don't like having large HD in their drive to contribute in heating and only for backup purpose. Install was a breeze it detected it right away on Windows 7 64bits. Breeze? I might tone it done a bit, because when I tried to make the hard drive working, it couldn't see the drive at all, and I tried both USB and SATA. After some research I found out that the drives has some compatibility problems with some hardware, but later I found out that I missed the power button on the rear. When I pushed that button, everything worked as it should. So it was just a human error on my part and the fact that Windows detected the hub without being powered was a contributor to the confusion.

Cons: Blue light and Green power lights are on even if the drive isn't powered on

Pros: Slim, perfect for 3.5 and 2.5 drives, eSATA, card reader, On and Off button so when you don't need to use the drive - doesn't need to be powered on
Comment:
Great for what was bought for. Makes interchanging drives fast and very easy instead of an enclosure

Cons: AHCI doit être activé pour port e-sata (AHCI must be activated to work with e-sata's port)

Pros: câble e-sata inclu, bien fait, prise usb, lecteur cartes mémoires (e-sata cable included, well designed, usb port, memory card reader)
Comment:
Bien fait, j'aime beaucoup cette station d'accueil pour disque dur qui fait encore plus avec son port USB et son lecteur de cartes mémoires intégré. Le câble e-sata est inclu dans la boîte.Well designed, i like this hdd dockstation which is much more with his USB port and his memory cards reader. The e-sata cable is included in the package.

Cons: 3.5" drives don't connect via eSATA

Pros: 2.5" drives connect via eSATA or USB
Comment:
It actually only gets 2 stars (works, but would not buy again) but NCIX won't post my 2-star review. It gets 2 stars because 3.5" drives won't connect via eSATA, only USB 2. Card reader works well.

This device is great the ability to read a SATA hard drive instead of installing it in an enclosure is very handy. I purchased this at the lowest price possible, with a rebate that is, so you can't go wrong.

Works like a charm. Have used it with all my old SATA hard drives. Was impressed with the speed when hooking up an external hard drive to the USB hub and transferring to the installed old SATA drive.

Cons: Too many lights.

Pros: Small size so doesn't take up much room, works every hdd I have.
Comment:
Works great, two different hdd's no problems and even tried out an SD and Sony Card no problems. My only thing is 3 lights on all the time, I'm sure they don't use much power but still it does. Would of been nice when the power button is off so are the lights. But other then that minor gripe great product.

Cons: eSATA hard to detect on some computers

Pros: Support multiple formats of Flash memory
Comment:
I tried it for now with a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 320GB 2.5IN SATA 7200RPM 16MB Hard Drive OEM. Work real fine. All your flash based device plugged in shows at same time in Computer. Also works in a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH. External Power Supply assure you a 3.5" hd without problem. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-13-10 05:35 AM
