Cons: Controls are abysmalStand is not height-adjustable

Pros: PriceNo dead pixels (on mine at least)Reasonable image quality for general useComes with DVI and VGA cables
Comment:
I got this monitor on sale for $140, and it's hard to say bad things about a 22" monitor at that price. However I will do my best.My main problem with this unit is with the controls. The buttons are mounted on the beveled bottom/front edge, and you push them "upward" to actuate them (this is not entirely obvious at first and seems absurd). Worse, the on-screen menus are difficult to navigate and not logically designed. I won't go into the details of it. I'll just say that it wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me because I am not the sort to constantly adjust the display settings. The display is blinding at default settings, but fortunately it is tolerable at minimum brightness. The black level is not spectacular, but it's adequate for normal duty as a PC monitor. Image quality is decent for a TN panel, all things considered. Graphics professionals obviously will be looking elsewhere. For a budget display, this does the job.

Comment:

Cons: At this price range none

Pros: Pretty good picture for a TN panelPriceVery thin and lightweightDoesn't generate as much heat as average 22"
Comment:
I bought this and my friend bought a 22" viewsonic - side by side this monitor was far better. The picture was more uniform, colors more uniform across the display, and less backlight bleeding (still some, but that's expected). For a 22" TN panel this is pretty good, and it doesn't hurt that its priced very reasonably.

Cons: set too bright initially

Pros: 22 inches is plenty of desktop real-estateadjustable brightness
Comment:
Very good screen for 200$. Yeah it's only 5ms as opposed the 2ms in some other models, but I don't kind I can notice a difference personally. 22 inches is a very good size to. Not so big that gaming is just unrealistic without a monstrous gpu, but big enough to be very productive when working on it. I'm very happy with this screen after having had it almost a year. No dead pixels, no problems so far, and hopefully it'll stay that way.

Cons: Brightness settings are difficult to adjust.

Pros: Affordable. Good colour & picture. No ghosting. Clear text.
Comment:
Very nice monitor for the price.Out of the box, the brightness settings are way too bright. In low light conditions, it's blinding. Controls to adjust brightness are a little awkward. For the price, I don't think it can be beat.

Cons: Colours change very slightly depending on your viewing angle.

Pros: Cheap price for 22"No dead pixels
Comment:
Comparing this Acer monitor to the NEC LCD22wv screens we just got at work, the Acer is better in every area. Viewing angles are really bad on the NEC, they only had 1 video input (analog d-sub) and each NEC has 1 dead pixel each. considering the 2 monitors cost about the same, I am quite impressed with the Acer. It looked nice for HD movies, games and webpage/text display. I am giving it 5/5 because for the price paid, I can't really ask for much more.

Good monitor for the price. Not as clear as my samsung but still a great monitor. It does seem bright out of the box but that can be adjusted. I would recommend this to anybody looking for an affordable monitor of this size.

I love this monitor. It's huge and I don't see any dead pixels so I am most definitely a happy camper. The only improvement I can really request is to be able to adjust the brightness better because this monitor is a bit too bright.

Cons: None as of yet, maybe an adjustable height would be nice

Pros: Great picture, Good price for performance ratio
Comment:
So I purchased this LCD for my parents computer build. Was trying to make it on the cheap so when I found this 22inch LCD for 199.99 I thought why not. I was a little worried because I've had a Acer laptop before that was only good as a door stop. But this surprised me. It has a nice sturdy base so it won't be falling over or anything any time soon, and the colors were nice and clear. The viewing angle seemed good, It won't be used for movies, but I tried one out on it and seems to put my LG (About 2 years old now though) to shame a bit on that aspect. All in all a great deal. Makes me want to get one for myself.

This monitor is a very good purchase on-sale at 189.99$. It is good quality made and for that price it's hard to beat. Color and image quality is good, it's not perfect but more than enough for office work and gaming I guess.

Cons: - slight buzz sound when brightness is less than 100%- black level is not great, but seems standard for an LCD of this price- Power button LED is big and bright and may be distracting for some people- menu system could be improved

Pros: - Unbeatable price, very good option for a dual screen setup- Slim, and light weight compared to some other LCDs
Comment:
I bought two of these and I have them set up as dual monitors. Both LCDs have a slight buzz sound if you lower the brightness below 100%, but the contrast can be lowered without a problem. This is a fairly minor problem, since if you keep the brightness at full and lower the contrast the picture will still look excellent and there will be no buzz at all. Watching movies only looks good after a fair amount of tweaking of the picture. The backlighting can really ruin a movie if the the contrast and brightness are too high. This is still an excellent deal. I got mine for $189.99 each (surprise special).

Cons: -No tilt -No angle adjustment

Pros: -Great colors-Affordable-Quick to set up, stable base-All cables you need are included
Comment:
I was looking for a lower cost but quality monitor, this is a great value for the 22" size. Has an excellent picture, works well for the average game player and the backlight bleeding is barely, if at all noticable.Excellent feature was the fact that it included both a VGA & DVI cable, the lengths are good for them as well. I do wish that it would have some tilt/angle adjustments though.

Cons: None that I can see off hand

Pros: Cheap with surprise special priceBrightSharp image via DVI (included) No backlight bleeding or dead pixels on mine
Comment:
I moved from a 19" Acer AL1916B to this monitor, and was glad to see improvements in colour quality and contrast. The image via DVI-D is much sharper than the VGA signal on my old LCD. The included DVI cable is okay, but I switched to a third party DVI-D cable and image quality improved somewhat. Much sharper image than I am accustom to on VGA LCD's, more in line with my older CRT monitor. Overall very nice, and a big step up from a non-widescreen LCD. Although this may not have the same colour quality that one might expect to get from a Samsung or LG monitor, its good enough for someone who does not want to spend an arm and a leg to get a 22" monitor for gaming and watching movies.

No dead pixels for me but i did get 1 stuck pixel about 3 months after i bought it, was easily fixed. I would recommend this if your a budget gamer because it gives u a nice 1680x1050 display with a decent 5ms response time. This review was modfied by poster @ 08-13-08 07:23 PM

Unbeatable 22" montior for the price. Very satisfied, although acer's montiors are no Samsungs - they back their products, which I like. I had my old Acer 24" AL2416W die on me a couple months ago and sent it to the closest Acer repair depot (They have one in Concord, Ontario) and I had my montior back in 2 business days working like new again. yay for Acer warranty!Bought this montior for much the same reason, warranty is very important to me.
