I was running a dual core and my five wow accounts usually had both cpu's pegged at 100% and performance suffered. Now I'm at 60% usage and have power left over when I need it. Found my box's cooling was causing it to overheat but opening up the side fixed that for now.

Replaced an existing Intel Celeron in a Vista 32 bit server platform. Installed and booted, computer worked perfectly on completion of boot up. Performance increase well worth the price. This processor certainly lived up to its reputation. A great value.

i've only had it for 18 hours lol but it replaced a athlon xp3200 system so yeah i'm flabberghasted at the performance. lol this is my first intel system and i was a little nervous about how the processor installed so i ordered a partially built barebones system from somewhere else, how ever i did purchase a video card and dvd burner from tiger and they shipped it really fast and have great customer support to answer any questions you have.

This is wicked FAST!!!.....don't even have it overclocked, and is running incredible....18+ programs running at same time with all media files running....would not slow down....DX48 board by Intel.....and yes you can now overclock intel cpus; in case amd guys are wondering. This uses a 45nm technology, and runs cooler; so you may not need a big honkin cpu fan. I run an all-copper Ultra-Quiet 18db cpu fan from Endpcnoise.com....wow it's awesome and silent...

got in a combo....overclocks really well when cooled properly... dunno if it's worth getting over a 6600 if you plan to overclock but this sucker handles crysis smooth as butter, have the zerotherm butterfly on thsi sucker and unoverclocked the cpus at about 33C during games excellent compatibility with 680i xfx

Wow. A quad chip that runs cool for under $300 and delivers the computational power. I used the Q9300 as the core of a scientific graphics workstation running Fedora 8. It is very satisfying to see the more intensive software apps use all 4 cores to crank out results blindingly fast. (You gotta love seeing 400% CPU utilization when running single, multithreaded app.) Highly recommended.

I love this processor. The quad core seems to run a bit warmer on the board, but I think there is a problem with the temp calculation, because it is cool to the touch. No problems so far, and I've had it for 2 weeks.

I purchased this processor with my 780i XFX Motherboard. I also installed using 8 gigs of XMS2 Corsair Ram, 850 Watt PS, 8800 GTS OC, 2-750 Western Digital SATA HD's, and what a CPU! I do alot of video editing, and with Vista 64 bit, everthing is playing ''VERY NICE'' LOL!! Great CPU, and so happy that Vista, along with other vender's, are finally getting caught up with there compatibility issues!! VERY HAPPY with this CPU, and my recent build!!!

Hey, this is a good processor. I tried e8400 wolfdale, but when downloading tv shows, i couldn't check my email. Wow. But Q9300 yorkie, this cpu installed great, was quiet and nice from the start, and i run it now, from stock 2.5ghz, to oc 2.875ghz (380fsb x 7.5x). It's a joy, and feels like the best processor i've ever had. I tried the Q9450, but it was like a fat horse, and got sent back. This q9300 is a fine item. Highly recommended, A+++. TD rocks (they refunded me on the e8400, just like a Tiger should (Brown Sugar.) TD rocks. W/ this cpu, u, too, could rock (l8ike TD.) Get on it (like a heatsink.) Oh, wow.

Great processor! Running on a EVGA 780i with 2gb of Crucial Ballistics tracers, a 7600gt (soon to be upgraded), and a 800w PSU. It runs flawlessly. I have been trying to get it to use more than 50%, but I am having a hard time. I can fold, run BF2, and listen to iTunes all at once, and the processor only goes up to about 45% load. I am currently running it @ stock, but I will soon overclock it to around 3.0ghz. My OCZ Vendetta is keeping it idling at 40c, 45c at full load (well as full as I can get it). If you can afford it, I would recommend getting the q9450 instead of this, but it really dosn't make that big of a difference.

What can I say? The process is a yorkfield from intel which use to be exclusive to Intel core 2 extremes - costing at around $1000+. It doesn't have all the features of the core 2 extreme yorkfield BUT if you have great memory, it performs just as good, if not better, while presenting four 45nm cores instead of just two. If you have windows Vista, this is the processor to reduce bottlenecking for your Tri-sli/CrossfireX gaming needs.

Yes Finally TG has q9300 . It's awesome 45nm Core Duo Quad. But it's sad that TG don't ship anything to Lithuania , i have all my orders send to friends who lives in U.S.A. , then he sends me to Lithuania. Please TG allow shipping to Lithuania i think you would have more orders than you have now.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! TG finally has a 45nm Core 2 Quad!!!!!! This rocks in performance with the added GHz (2.5 instead of 2.4) Temps are less, so is the TDP wattage! The overclocking ability is outrageous, I wish it was retail so I could test OC'ing on a stock cooler. So far, not done OC'ing, just got this, I am running with P5N-T Deluxe, 8GB RAM, 3 750 GB HD's and a GeForce 8800 Ultra and liquid cooling, too chicken and taking slow with 3.66GHz @1.417 Volts hovering with temps at 60C max!!! Performance is great, get this (as in a few other reviews) instead of the Q6600, but I'm also waiting for the Q9450...

Whether you're creating multimedia, annihilating your gaming enemies, or running compute-intensive applications at one time, new quad-core processing will change the way you do everything. Pioneer the new world of quad-core and unleash the power of multi-threading.

The High End Just Got Higher
Introducing the latest additions to the Core 2 Quad family built using Intel's 45nm technology and hafnium-infused circuitry. These new processors deliver amazing performance and power efficiency. Whether it's encoding, rendering, editing, or streaming, make the most of your professional-grade multimedia applications with a PC powered by the Intel® Core?2 Quad processor. With four processing cores and up to 12MB of shared L2 cache and up to 1333 MHz Front Side Bus, more intensive entertainment and more multitasking can bring a multimedia powerhouse to your home.

Features

  • Quad-Core Processor
Provides four complete execution cores in a single processor with 6MB of L2 cache and up to a 1333 MHz Front Side Bus. Four dedicated, physical threads help operating systems and applications deliver additional performance, so end users can experience better multi-tasking and multi-threaded performance across many types of applications and work loads.
  • Intel® Wide Dynamic Execution
Improves execution speed and efficiency, delivering more instructions per clock cycle. Each of the four cores can complete up to four full instructions simultaneously.
  • Intel® Smart Memory Access
Optimizes the use of the data bandwidth from the memory subsystem to accelerate out-of-order execution. A newly designed prediction mechanism reduces the time in-flight instructions have to wait for data. New pre-fetch algorithms move data from system memory into fast L2 cache in advance of execution. These functions keep the pipeline full, improving instruction throughput and performance. 45nm versions further improve this feature, with more efficient methods of loading and storing data in main memory.
  • Intel® Advanced Smart Cache
Provides shared level 2 cache across each pair of cores that can be dynamically allocated to each processor core, within the pair, based on workload. This efficient implementation increases the probability that each core within the pair can access data from fast L2 cache, significantly reducing latency to frequently used data and improving performance.
  • Intel® Advanced Digital Media Boost
Accelerates the execution of Streaming SIMD Extension (SSE) instructions to significantly improve the performance on a broad range of applications, including video, audio, and image processing, and multimedia, encryption, financial, engineering, and scientific applications. The 128-bit SSE instructions are now issued at a throughput rate of one per clock cycle effectively doubling their speed of execution on a per clock basis over previous generation processors. 45nm versions include a new Super Shuffle Engine, which improves existing SSE instructions while enabling significant gains on the latest SSE4 instruction set. SSE4-optimized applications, such as video editing and encoding in high-definition resolution, will see additional performance improvements.
  • Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT)
Allows one hardware platform to function as multiple ?virtual? platforms. Intel® VT improves manageability, limiting downtime and maintaining worker productivity by isolating computing activities into separate partitions.
  • Digital Thermal Sensor (DTS)
Provides for more efficient processor and platform thermal control improving system acoustics. The DTS continuously measures the temperature at each processing core. The ability to continuously measure and detect variations in processor temperature enables system fans to spin only as fast as needed to cool the system. The combination of these technologies can result in significantly lower noise emissions from the PC.
