low voltage... when not defective Following installing the memory and setting the voltage and cas timings in the bios to the advertised settings, each of the memory modules are failing memtest with a number of errors, even even though 1 of the sticks is functional, if it is in the mb alone, at lower speeds and latency. I would try to rma them, but gskill demands you to send the defective memory sticks to them (on your dime, no less) just before they will ship you a replacement. These are the only two sticks of ddr3 that I have, so I would fundamentally be out a computer system program for a couple weeks even though waiting for the replacement to arrive thanks to that policy. I have encountered other retailers and makers that will not treat you like a thief and essentially ship the replacement item to you initially, and then after you get that, you can then ship the defective solution back utilizing a shipping label that they give to you for cost-free. Maybe I am just spoiled, but I am disappointed that I will have to devote dollars to ship this back and have to obtain replacement ram to use in the meantime since of the shipping wait time, and all of this because g.ability apparently doesn't want to pretest their ram before selling it to buyers. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ConsumerWe apologize for the incovenience. Inside 30 days of purchase, you can basically contact NewEgg for an exchange. However we do not provide sophisticated RMA replacements as 9 out of 10 men and women will not full their finish. In truth, several folks will take advantage purposely to attain extra memory. We have tried this as we want to do what's most convenient for you, but we simply can't do it if 90% under no circumstances make it back. All G.Ability memory packages are pre-tested to comprehensive a matched set, and tested once again before being placed in inventory. This memory functions specifically as advertised, at 1.35v, with xmp timings on an amd setup. It's pretty flexible too so no issues configuring it even for an individual with small experience tweaking memory! Really feel absolutely free to play around with this kit, it's over clockable and cool! The spd speeds are low and timings are loose, and considering that amd boards don't support xmp, you could have to set the timings oneself. Some boards depending on the bios revision do not assistance 1.35v memory. I'm a major fan of something that saves on power and heat and performs also. Don't hesitate to grab these up. It's great stuff as is the majority of g. skill memory i've employed!

I had to ramp the voltage from 1.35 to 1.four to get it to come down 1 and run a full clean pass through memtest86. I picked these due to the fact they match under my Sunbeam CCF 120 cpu cooler with about 3 mm to spare. No way the ripjaws would do that. I ordered this RAM along with a new EVGA P55 SLI 132-LF-E655-KR and an Intel i5 cpu and have been extremely pleased with my buy. Low wattage and wonderful timings. Price tag and overall performance from this RAM has been excellent, really can't go incorrect! No rebate. At the time when I ordered these there was free of charge shipping and the value was ๯ so the price has gone down because I purchased mine which was about 2 months ago. I will be ordering a different set of these soon after the holidays although because I am so please with the current set!

I purchased two sets of these and not one would operate at the advertised speed & timings without having a .1v increase. O/C'd easily to 1800 with the enhance and didn't get too warm, but only with loose timings of 9-9-9-28. At which point the speed is type of pointless on an AMD system. WEI 7.five. Similar as my three yr old DDR2 800mhz on an identical technique, with the exception of the motherboard (DDR3 board Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3. DDR2 Board Asus M3A78.) DDR3 is performance sham. About the ONLY benefit is less voltage, but is it worth spending practically 赨 for 8gbs? Only you can answer that query. For me, its NO.Noticed practically difference in games and each day applications.Charged restocking fee for ram that does not function at advertised specs. I wouldn't bother unless you're developing a new technique. I'll stick to my DDR2 and "obsolete" motherboard, it seems to nevertheless match or exceed "latest" technology. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ClientWe are sorry to hear you had slight problems with your memory. The memory really should easily operate to spec, the motherboard may well merely be undersupplying voltage. Although the motherboard states 1.35V set in BIOS, that is not the actual voltage. AMD platforms have restricted memory bandwidth, so when comparing DDR2 to DDR3, the all round distinction will be minimal unless you overclock your method. There is no question that DDR3 is faster than DDR2, it just depends no matter whether your technique can totally make use of the bandwidth. To test this concept, attempt the memory on a AMD hex core CPU or Intel CPU and the all round speed/bandwidth will be a lot higher than DDR2. They are slick searching. Low voltage - might not save you a bunch of $ in the long run, but they do run cooler. They DO operate with the AMD 890 chipset. The picture on Newegg looked green, but they are a silver in color like some of the other version of the gskill eco sticks. In the finish you can't genuinely see em so massive whoop. I researched many distinct ram modules, but these caught my eye from the starting. They work wonderful in my AMD MSI 890GXM-G65 Mobo. Initially it set itself to ddr3-1333 timings of 9-9-9-24 at 1.67V. Adjusted them manually to ddr3-1333 7-7-7-21 1.351V. Ran stable on memtest all night. <They will only run the spec. speeds ddr3-1600 7-eight-7-24 if you overclock your AMD technique.> So if you plan on overclocking stick with these, otherwise the ddr3-1333 versions will perform fine.

Attractive gunmetal color, very good cost, low voltage, fast timings, and low profile/small heat spreaders for substantial CPU coolers. Couldn't set timing to advertised 7-eight-7-24 @ 1.35v on my AMD mobo (GA-790XTA-UD4). But it nevertheless runs quickly with decent voltage at 8-eight-8-24 1600MHz @ 1.42v with the present Gigabyte F3 BIOS. Hopefully a future BIOS update will repair this or a person will come across settings that work. I believed I had nothing to be concerned about when I saw these on the supported memory list for the Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 mobo, but I was slightly disappointed when I found out it is unable to run at advertised timings. If it was achievable, I would have docked only half an egg as I should have carried out a lot more analysis ahead of I purchased. Still.. this is quality RAM for the value. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ConsumerThank you for your G.Skill purchase and evaluation. Regrettably not all AMD CPU/motherboards will be capable of DDR3-1600 CL7. Awesome ram. Runs as advertised. Seriously quickly ram with low latency and low voltage. what far more could you want?! Didn't work out of the box, you had to set the timings manually. In my case there was an extreme profile setting which i selected and it automatically filled in the correct timings. Haven't tried overclocking as I have totally no need to have for the personal computer it is in, nevertheless, i believe this set would hit 2000Mhz with ease if you unwind timings and up the voltage to a NOMINAL worth for ddr3.

Tends to make me want to get a second set even if when monitoring my useage on memory I can clearly see I don't will need far more RAM To get the 7-8-7-24 timings you want to set it in the BIOS, otherwise you get the default 9-9-9-24 timings. This alter gave me an extra .3 on the WEI scale for the memory (if that says anything), but haven't done other testing to see how noticeable this change is for some demanding applications.

Rapidly, decent timings, overclocks nicely, and rock strong steady. If you do your study they operate great in some AMD boards as well. And now they're inexpensive too! Gskill's consumer service is wonderful too (didn't want them for this RAM but my prior encounter with them was excellent). no cons at all - I love this RAM! Why are so a lot of individuals crying about utilizing .1v far more than spec on an AMD board? Certainly insane - particularly if you mention "energy savings" like this is going to cut your energy consumption. If you're making use of an AMD board you'll in all probability have to set the timings and voltage manually, but this RAM is for tweaking and OC'ing so that's to be anticipated. If you can't set your own timings you shouldn't be exceeding 1333MHz anyway.Using with 890GX, 1.45v, 7-8-7-24, 1669 MHz and it runs 24ǝ stable for weeks. SiSoft Sandra benchmarked the bandwidth at 12.five GB/s with a dual core AMD @ four.01 GHz.

Excellent luck with yours!I started with the “Load Optimized Defaults” in the BIOS with the following Important alterations. Be positive to monitor temps in any overclocking setups (I utilised the supplied EasyTune6… the rest of the integrated Giga MB software is worthless as the MB and Microsoft manage all that is needed automatically)GA-H55-USB3 ATX motherboard, G.Skill ECO Series 4GB ƒ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D, and Intel Core i3-530 Clarkdale offer next year’s computer system accessible nowadays from NewEgg. With the novice’s ability to overclock this, paying additional is a waste of your funds. Right here is how:The memory spec is critical to max overclock with stability, but the Intel proc I3 530 is just as powerful as I5. “Throttling” feature of more high-priced procs are promoting hy Caution! The voltage supplied by the G-Skill XMP settings could be as well high Ƒ.41V CPUVcore under the X.M.P.is much more than I was comfortable with) and could shorten proc life. Upon discovery, I turned it down to setting of 1.25625 for safety of my CPU and for less heating. My technique tests stable employing Intel burn test and Prime95 (free downloads on the web- just search). This is why I am not comfy with the EasyTune6 for overclocking and I am cautious to think about all factory settings such as XMP. I do use the EasyTune6 to manage the fan speeds and monitory temps on setting this up but do not want them accessible to customers… only the higher temp beep is explained to caution users.I also set the internal graphics clock in advanced frequency settings in Gigabyte MIT Bios Screen to 788 (from stock 733) and upped the BLCK slightly to 164 (from the 160 XMP setting provided) to get 3.60 Ghz on the stock Intel cooler supplied with the I3 proc. By working with larger blk settings (above 160, my MB mem mult is ten) and loosening memory timings in BIOS, larger overclocks are incredibly feasible with this setup ྶ is the max multiplier for the I3 on this board). All are restricted by the CPU cooler and case conditions and an aftermarket cooler is then advisable to address the thermal limitations.

This is fantastic excellent, rapid RAM operating at low power Ƒ.35 volts compared to 1.65 for most DDR3 modules). They're also from a brand with a good reputation. Admittedly, your RAM is not most likely to be the most significant power hog in your system, but if you're going for cool and quiet, every single little bit assists. It's also competitively priced - you're not paying a big premium for the reduce operating voltage or the great brand name. At the time of obtain, this was essentially one particular of the *least* expensive DDR3-1600 CAS 7 kits. The heat-spreaders are low-profile which indicates they won't interfere with substantial CPU coolers that overhang the DIMM slots on microATX boards.I'm very cautious about undesirable RAM from experiences in the past, so I've given these a great and correct pressure-test out of the box, and to my delight, they are rock-strong steady. According to some reviews, they have somewhat much less overclocking overhead compared to other (generally much more costly) RAM kits. I'm not overclocking, so I can't say very first-hand. Regardless, there is really minimal advantage to overclocking RAM at this point in time. There is also a little cost premium over "regular" G.Skill modules (e.g. Ripjaws). I have the eight gig Ɣx2GB) kit, but all the above applies to either kit.My motherboard did not use the XMP profile by default, even though it detected it just fine. That's the fault of my motherboard, not the RAM, and after I changed the setting, it utilised the correct speed/timings/voltage without any fuss. Just be sure to check your BIOS when installing the RAM to make certain it's set appropriately.

I spent a important quantity of time researching memory ahead of I decided to make a leap of faith and obtain this memory. What finalized my selection was the quantity of costumer assistance G. Talent provides to its customers when it comes to the good quality of their solutions. This is evident by the multitude of responses that G. Skill has made in regard to any problems with their memory (check any comment with a rating of two or reduce). This is basically outstanding on their portion and has earned them my lifelong support in terms of RAM. Aside from that, the memory shipped and worked at the exact settings described. I have chosen not to overclock these modules, so I cannot give any input in that respect. To get them to their correct timing and voltages, I merely turned on the XMP profile with the BIOS on my Gigabyte P67a-UD7-B3. No problems what so ever. N/A The images of these on Newegg's web page indicate that the PCB is green when in fact the models I had been sent (manufactured in Jan of 2011) have been in reality black.Even though some individuals could not care about this, I was extremely delighted with G. Skill's selection to switch to a black PCB. Nearly every little thing catered to the enthusiast marketplace uses a black PCB, and these modules now match completely with my present setup.
