Pros: G.Skill qualityEasily overclockedGreat speedsNice looking heat-sinks
Comment:
I bought these to go with the rest of my new all-black build. No, i didn't buy them JUST on looks, which they do excell at. But because;A) Quaility, G.Skill is currently THE industry leader in RAM, no one can match them and they are pulling away from the rest of the competition.B) The speed is great, and they are easy to overclock.C) Good priceIf you can find the 2133mhz version in stock, buy it. Amazing speed and clock rates for the price.

Pros: Heatspreaders look coolgood price
Comment:
Put two sticks of these into an msi gd-80 motherboard and they worked flawlessly. Currently testing an i5-750 overclocked to 4.01 ghz with the ram running at 1600Mhz and 8-8-8-24 timings respectively.

overclocked these to 1750mhz on 9-9-9-24 pretty easily. haven't noticed any other problem with it. got them for about $110.

I bought this memory kit for my 955. It is very good because I could get it for 90$. I would recommend this memory kit because it has a very good heatsink and good timings for the price. I'm using it with a gigabyte board 790X. Try to get on on special sale because it can be very cheap. I would definately buy again.

Cons: Doesn't run at specs.

Pros: Specs (low voltage, speed and timings) for the AM3 platform.
Comment:
Memory was the only thing that prevented me to buy a new computer based on the AM3 platform sooner. NCIX carries a very poor selection to cater for the AMD enthusiasts nowadays.I finally decided to go for this kit because of the availability, price and specs combination (8-8-8-21 at 1600 MHz and at 1.65V would have been satisfying had it worked). On the MA790XT-UD4P with the original BIOS (F2), it almost passed memtest86+ test #5 (I use this test to take out the memory controller out of the equation). But it failed after a couple of iterations. Loosening tRas to 24 made it go a little further but still, the kit generated errors. Bringing up voltage (from 1.6V to 1.65V) just made the kit crash faster. With the F4G BIOS (unganged options added), 1600 MHz is a no-go no matter what timings are used (9-9-9 timings are close to make the kit stable but it still fails). Maybe the BIOS needs a few fixes but, like I said, even with F2 this kit is on the verge of instability at 1600 MHz.Strangely enough, with BIOS Auto settings, the memory runs at 1333 MHz with 9-9-9 timings and memtest86+ shows a higher bandwidth than when the memory is manually set to 1600 MHz with 8-8-8 timings.I'm giving this kit 3 stars because theoretically and considering other kits available here, it would be one of the nicer kits to get. On the other hand, it doesn't run stable at its specs (at least not for me). It could be because of the motherboard but I have no means to verify that. If NCIX offered more choices, this kit would only have gotten 2 stars. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-10-09 11:12 AM
