Cons: price premium for the metal case or guarantee of overclocking capacity ?

Pros: Good CPU, good overall system price
Comment:
I do some development and this beast is good for me.FYI, timed linux kernel compilation (my cfg): 2min vs. 17 min for my previous (temporary) CPU (Athlon II X2 245).A nice thing is that it gets very quiet when idle (1.4GHz).When busy+overclocked (currently very stable at 4.062GHz), my Antec Earthwatts 650W PSU is making new noises. So you can know when the computer has finished its work !I took this one over the 8120, because I'm stupid and I don't want AMD to die.

Very good processor for the price. This is a processor that is designed for overclocking it does get up to some pretty high speeds.

Cons: -tons of heat-does not perform as well as a i5 2500k in gaming

Pros: -faster than my old CPU-packaging saved the CPU
Comment:
Good processor overall if you are to upgrade from a older chip but id get ivy bridge or piledriver if they are not much more

Cons: runs a little warm stock heat sink woefully inadeaquate

Pros: nice and fastno hassle 8 cores of power
Comment:
all in all a nice upgarde from the quad core althoough the heatsink issue causes concen for all out performance. my upgrade to a hyper212+ coolermaster cooler cured that. this with a 7850 ati 2 gb card put my futurebenachmark 11 scores to 5900.(also the 2 hotfixes from microsoft for the fx were a big help) prices have come down for this cpu and i would recommend for any multimedia system

Cons: Horrible stock fan

Pros: Great price and performance
Comment:
A lot of people have some bad things to say about this cpu's performance. It's true that it does not perform as good as others for single threaded applications (but is still fast), but for multi-threaded apps it is amazingly fast. I use this cpu for 3d rendering and if I wanted just a little more performance, I would have to spend almost double. The stock fan that comes with this cpu is horrible and should be replaced. I will definitely buy this processor again.

Cons: Extremely poor heatsink and fan.

Pros: Powerful right out of the box, only gets better.
Comment:
This processor is awesome. Out of the box you get wicked performance, and it only gets better. However the heatsink and fan included are extremely poor quality, I would highly recommend getting a bitter heatsink if you are going to overclock this.

Cons: -A little costy for the $/mhz ratio.-Heatsink is utter crap.

Pros: -No more heat than a quad-core or a 6-core.-Works perfectly.
Comment:
Awesome benchmarks, easy overclock, ultra fast processor. If you have the budget to buy this, then you will not regret it, but make sure you buy a heatsink because the stock heatsink is crap.

Cons: it could be faster but the only way to get a better deal from intel is to steal it. more cores than anything knows what do do with and isnt much better than the 100 dollar cheaper ones atleast via windows score

Pros: price per preformance runs pcsx2 nicely though its meant for a diffrent architecture, the turbo core fills the gap. cooling it runs a few degrees hotter than some previous models but purchace or modify a case with a 200+ mm fan and problem solved
Comment:
all and all i dont regret buying this model it works well i look forward to my next years using this replacement for my i3 laptop. and the upgrade was well worth it runnen 60 fps on crysis 2 no problem maxed with dx 11 and high rez texure patches. when used with a radeon 6950 and the olde amd preformance atleast

Cons: heat

Pros: great performance in key functions such as office/Internet Apps, and Photoshop filters, low price, vast motherboard selections
Comment:
I got this CPU clocked to 4.2GHz stably on liquid cooling, stock voltage and under full load for a few days straight. There's probably more headroom if I was willing to tolerate the loudest radiator fan setting or if I spent the time, but that wasn't the purpose of this build. For $209 + difference in mainboard costs, it's hard to find a competitive i5 that can keep up in Adobe Photoshop and other benchmarks.

Cons: heat output, price-performanceneeds a new goddamn motherboard for it.

Pros: great overclocker8 coreshigh clock
Comment:
It's a high performer, people just bash on it because there was so much hype, yes it does perform worse than the i5 2500k, but can be better at extremely heavily threaded applications. Good gaming CPU, not the best obviously, not the worse, a good and fast performance CPU.

this cpu screams and at a very fair price. if you can't afford intel or just love amd i highly recommend this cpu. one draw back is that you'll want to make sure your bios are as up to date as possible because this cpu is so new some software/games have issues with it

I love this cpu runs fast and cool. I am using an H100 liquid cooler with push pull config and idles at 7c at times. Have it ocd to 4.4ghz and never goes over 35c.Maybe it will not bench like some of the intel chips but who cares I play bf3 on ultra in 3d with my gtx570 what more do you need. I plan to try to reach 5ghz but for now i'm happy with 4.4 lol. My last chip was a phenom 1100t which I loved does seem to be improvement and excpect more when windows 8 comes out.

Cons: Really can't think of any. Maybe that Windows 7 supposedly can't use all the cores??

Pros: Great price performance ratio. Great overclocker. Feels good to support some Intel competition.
Comment:
I have mine overclocked to 4.4 Gz now and I just got my H80 cooler. I just set it at 4.4 and didn't do anything else yesterday and its been running perfectly since. Windows now gives an experience level of 7.8 for cpu and 7.8 for memory. Ya Baby Ya! Running Tracktion-3 recording software perfectly with nary a hiccup and super low cpu load levels.

This CPU is a great choice if you're looking to build a fairly power machine on a budget. I put it into an ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX and I couldn't be happier with it. Runs fast enough at stock speeds for my needs (Never really got into over-clocking - maybe down the road)
