Very good price tag, very good speeds. Speeds not close to what is listed (topped out at 230mbs롻mbs in AHCI) and they fluctuate significantly at occasions. Maybe it's the Sandforce driver or possibly I got fortunate with a good a single :) It's still a very good drive, just not living up to the critiques or advertised speed. For those who don't understand why more than provisioning is essential it's so that the advertised drive space is the actual space. See, marketing has changed and when these drives are normally 128GB, they are listed as 120GB since that is the space available. I guess some "smart" people never ever comprehend market alterations and why businesses are marketing the actual available space. Oh effectively, hopefully this will clarify the problem for some. Manufacturer Response:.Dear CustomerWhen comparing speeds to our rated specifications, please use the ATTO Disk Benchmark Test as that is what we applied. Diverse programs will have different final results. The speeds you indicated are extremely regular for a program such as HDTune. So if that is what you are employing, every thing is operating correctly. Makes use of Sandforce 1200 controller which is a single of the fastest controller out there (for now). SF1200 appears to be the greatest out there if you need to give up TRIM help to hold your SSD tidy if you want to implement RAID like I did. When working with RAID Win7 didn't require any special drivers to set up on RAID . Also firmware was simple to update and did not destroy my data. Fantastic deal - purchased on sale around turkey day - about 205 bones each. Not newer/faster 6GB SATA three - not a con genuinely but the SATA two 3GB is the bottleneck for SF1200 controllers and most present gen SSDs. RAID provides up TRIM help - once more not a con against the item but a limitation of the existing storage technologies. I'm operating 2x 120GB SSDs in a RAID config with the Intel ICH10R chip set on a Gigabyte P55A-UD3 motherboard and performance is smoking rapid. Utilizing Intel RST 9.six.1.1014 drivers. Upgrading the RST drive from 9.5 to 9.6 produced a measurable distinction in Crystal Diskmark particularly in the random 4KB test so make sure you download the newest RST drives from Intel. Windows sees 2x 114GB drives so 228GB usable storage for my C drive. Moreover I run a 1TB WD black regular drive for storage. Quickly when new. But that only lasted a couple weeks or so. Create overall performance has degraded seriously. ( in all categories). Support is abysmal - relies on forums with a couple of incredibly incomplete posts by moderators and small stick to-up. (And, yes, the drive is aligned correctly.)Have attempted every little thing suggested. Switching ACHI drivers from Intel to MS, regedits for trim assistance, updating bios. Nothing assists! Their bios update tool doesn't work at all! It's most likely that TRIM isn't operating properly...I'm no pro but am quite excellent at following directions cautiously and reading involving the lines. Practically nothing they recommend operates! Promised tools have under no circumstances appeared. Have had this drive six months, use for system only at a fraction of its capacity, and have been patiently waiting for help on this challenge. I have utilized g.talent memory in the previous with great outcomes and long life. Sadly memory and ssd client help specifications are really various factors. Above typical MTBF for SSD'sHigh study/write speeds. You actually won't totally appreciate the overall performance increase until you boot a spindle on another personal computer, it's like going to dial-up from broadband. Idle power usage is substantial if you run on battery.Expense; I got this three months ago for 214$, it's 240$ now... what the hell? The AMD ACHI driver (and the default microsoft driver) is incapable of a queue length above 1, so you may well not get all of the enormous RANDOM I/O performance stated. It's only a problem for random I/O, substantial transfers sill happen at complete speed. In spite of the non-Intel mobo driver difficulty, it's often more rapidly at its worst than a mechanical drive at its ideal. I have not done any firmware updates.Got this drive approx 3 months ago.If the drive disappears from the BIOS boot list, as if it all of a sudden died, swap SATA ports, reset the bios, and/or restart a few instances. <-- Some SATA ports appear to faint at the awesomeness of the devices connected to them.

Quick read and write speeds, got at a great price, very fantastic tech. support. Read and create speed fluctuate madly even on unwritten drive. Only 111gb usable space out of the 120gb. Other brands have 119gb out of 120gb actual space. Got for 赧 on sale, which is a great value but the constant fluctuations in study and create speeds is annoying and I'm disappointed that there is significantly less actual space on the HD compared to other brands of the very same size. I see a large difference in boot up speed. I also see my applications load in most case in less than half the time of my old 7200RPM drive. The benchmarks look to be reduced than what it ought to be rated. For example for the sequential read I get 190MB/s rather than the 275MB/s or so this drive is rated for. I have noticed tweaks to get the complete speed out of this drive, but you sacrifice battery power so I rather not. I would suggest doing a full image of your machine immediately after you have installed anything on your new SSD. It is a known reality that SSD can die anywhere from the initial week to the 3 month of ownership. Now the chances seem to be low, but its greatest to be secure rather than sorry. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ClientThank you for your G.Ability buy and overview. This SSD will make most platter drives appear ancient. The greatest advantage of SSDs is the low constant seek time. Most HDDs have an average seek time of 9ns, whereas a SSD is .1ns. HDDs are also typical times, whereas SSDs are continual, meaning you get consistent functionality no matter what the scenario. With regards to study/write/copy transfer prices, SSDs will also outperform most HDDs. When benchmarking, make confident to use the ATTO Disk Benchmark Test as it is most accurate. Other programs will have slightly varying final results. If you have any further questions or issues, please don't hesitate to make contact with us directly. Good Drive, straightforward installation, quite fast. None - so far. I installed this drive as a second information drive on a Windows 7 Pro I7-860 system. I installed it 11񳏊 and three months later it has worked flawless. I have a Internet Application that is extremely information intensive and was quite sluggish. I decided to experiment with this drive because Passmark had the speed rating incredibly high and it was in my value variety. I ran several benchmarks with Passmark and my personal application. I don't have the exact numbers since that was three months ago but there was no comparison in the speed distinction. Certainly worth the dollars with the performance acquire. The primary drive in the system is operating off of a 9750-4i SATA/SAS Raid Controller with 512MB Cache so not a slow setup. Some of the reviews have me concerned, but hopefully that is the tiny exception. It was good to see the Manufacture respond.

Very good drive, purchased during one of Newegg's great Day-to-day Deals. Works quick, this is sandforce 1200, so onpar w/ the Vertex 2 drives (hardware wise) Is quickly as can get, wonderful size for the cost Quite strange, the drive case is poorly manufactured, at least my copy of it, the actual housing is not straight edged but slightly warped/bent. Placing this into a thinkpad x61s drive sled was just about forcing the metal case straight, extremely very snug match into the case but it eventually match and it works. But deducting two eggs for horrible building excellent, at this expense for their best tier item, every little thing should be appropriate not sure if the drive is at fault but win7 provides me the bsod a couple of times so far. unknown if stress on the shell could have an effect on the drive (?) but it shouldn't but, never know what's causing it. own just about every version of the vertex and other similiar ssd's and this is 1st one that has this peculiar dilemma w/ building and bsod, so i have to rule out i'm at fault :Pthis is my initially Gskill non RAM solution.. perhaps staying w/ their ram only... will have to see. So far so great. Speed rating and IOPS for this product are accurate, with a sager np8662 I get 𞵋MB/s reads and 𞴿MB/s writes, and boot instances are very quickly. The cost/GB and value/speed for this drive were the finest at the time I purchased the drive. I do not regret obtaining this drive as it has saved me considerable wait time already. Wish it was bigger, but there appears to be a massive value jump from 120GB to 160GB or higher.
