Much more stability. They brought back several of the pro's of XP, and all in all it feels additional polished. It's XP compatibility is unreliable, and the virtual XP is a CPU hog that can only run in 16bit color. All in all: greater than Vista. I in no way regret the adjust, but my major motivation was becoming in a position to run far more programs on 7 that didn't function on Vista. A lot of them did, thoughts you, but some of the crucial ones don't, and as I stated, the Virtual XP is a joke. If you're sick of Vista, 7 is the way, just don't anticipate to get all of your old XP apps to perform suitable off the bat. They might take some operate.

I've been a Mac user for a long time and had to switch back. I was pleasantly surprised with some aspects of Windows 7. It appears cleaner and a lot more snappy than Windows XP. It's a discomfort to launch applications! Digging by means of the Start out menu is a hassle and it's aesthetically unappealing to have a ton of icons in the taskbar, primarily due to the huge amount of horizontal spacing involving the icons.I want there was a viable 64bit compatible dock-like launcher offered.

there is a lot to appreciate about Windows 7, but what truly sold me was my expertise with it nowadays. soon after replacing my motherboard, psu, cpu and ram, i booted up the machine fearing the worst. but to my amazement, the machine booted appropriate up, installed the new chipset drivers and worked with no a hitch. and this was not a replacement - it was an upgrade from a core two duo to a core i5 sandybridge. all i had to do was reboot, set up the network drivers (from the mobo DVD - for some reason windows did not set up them automatically), and reactivate windows (online activation worked, no phone get in touch with was required). it was just 2 hours from unboxing my new components to getting the machine boot to desktop. wow. the windows DVD does not morph into a masseuse and rub your shoulders when you use your computer it's the ideal version of windows so far

- Seriously delighted with this upgrade. I employed Win 7 Pro 64 in my new create, obtaining been an XP Pro user up to this point. - Everything seems extremely logical, and smooth in Win 7. I also like the tidier taskbar.- Fair price tag, also. No Cons truly?

Installation more than an current XP system took less than 30 minutes. Automatically finds GT240 driver AND audio driver for a > five-year old Mad Dog five.1 sound card. If it does not help upgrade, it must not be asking in the course of the installation. Beware, this is not an "upgrade". You need to have to boot the Computer with the DVD. It does ask no matter whether you want to upgrade during the installation -- this solution does not work for this pack. You lose pretty a lot anything from the old OS. The older system files are moved to a directory. You can salvage user data folders but that was fairly significantly it. All programs require to be resintalled.

YEAH!!!!! This is what Vista really should have been!! Not the resource gobbling crash beast that it was! I had Vista 64 Bit for a handful of years and possibly ended up recovering from about three-five crashes, net freezing and so fourth. As the updates came, it got worse. Win 7 even so was like a present from heaven!! Not one crash, freeze or lockup! It boots good and quick, finds drivers for you, and won't consume your resources like a hog! GO FOR IT!!! None so far... Just had to get applied to the new job bar which took about 1 hour.... Get rid of Vista and go with this, you won't be dissapointed. Any individual who says they get blue screened or it won't run, probably is carrying out a thing incorrect or has an ancient technique.

Over all Better than vista.Utilizes significantly less ram than vista.I like some of the cosmetics. Once installed and activated the OS is locked to the motherboard through Microsoft's database, warning just before acquire!!!Still primarily based on NTFS(New Technologies File Program) Yeah New like 12 years ago!Nevertheless Uses alot of ram! If your preparing on acquiring this be confident your not going to upgrade your motherboard any time quickly.

Like the new OS and was able to get a majority of my old computer software to function utilizing compatability mode. Seems pretty fast on the system I have. Media center is wonderful and works nicely with my Hauppauge Tv tuner card. Hate that there isn't an e-mail client like Outlook Express. Hate the Windows Live Mail. Seems pretty difficult for the typical computer user. If you like XP stick with it till they cease supporting it. My reasoning for this comment is primarily due to the fact of the quantity of programs that are not supported in Windows 7.

I have administered, 3.1, 3.11workgroup, NT, 98, 98SE, ME, Server 2000, 2000, XP Server 2003, Server 2007. 64 and 32bit.ME is the worst followed by Vista.Win7 is the greatest followed by XP, IMHO.

I like it, straightforward to use interface and attributes, not to considerably various from windows. *not too significantly unique from previous windows* If you like to play certain games, like HM Blood Cash, you may well need to have to download particular .dll files for them to run. Not actually a large deal.
