USB & Firewire. Enclosure is sturdy, desirable and quiet. It gets hot. Make sure it's properly ventilated, and it shouldn't be an situation. |

Effortless to install a drive, lightweight, and it just plain functions. The firewire cable is loose (not a tight connection). I read this on other evaluations and didn't know if it was going to be an problem. Its a minor annoyance. Essentially, you don't move the drive while accessing it or you will disconnect the drive. All external circumstances get hot, this 1 is no exception. There is NO FAN and as a result it gets hotter than other individuals but its also SILENT. |

So far it has worked as expected. Great seeking case. I didn't measure throughput but utilizing the eSATA port it appears quite rapidly. It comes with every little thing such as one of each and every kind of information cable, a packet of drive mounting screws, etc. All you require is a tiny Phillips screwdriver and SATA tricky drive. As others have noted, there is no fan and ventilation is restricted to holes in the front. Understanding this I bought a "SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ" (NewEgg # N82E16822152185) to use with this situation. With this mixture the situation is warm but not hot. I deducted a star for poor ventilation but if you purchase a cool drive, you need to be O.K. The drive attaches by bottom screws so no drive shock resistance. I am not too fond of the rounded handles or whatever they are that are aspect of the case. It does come with a mounting base to stand it on its side, but I wouldn't trust it to not be knocked more than and kill the drive. The polished metal situation itself is a bit slippery in spite of its matte look, so take care when handling it not to slip and drop it. Aluminum is a soft metal so I wouldn't recommend it for rough travel. The energy provide for this case is an external dual voltage "brick" but isn't too huge. IIRC it is 12V so you could most likely create a cable to run it off of a desktop Pc energy supply. |

Very good aluminum enclosure. Running it via firewire port and every little thing performs well so far. Lots of connection possibilities with all the cables included. Quite effortless to set up drive, took about 5 min. The energy cord is a 3 amp supply, works effectively with 1TB drive. Front and rear feet have a stick on rubber non-slip pad. Little pricey, front and rear feet are made of plastic. Center assistance fits loose, so it is not being used. Wires inside fit incredibly tight, so be careful when installing drive. Case gets a little warm (but not poor) and would have liked to see cooling vents on the sides. Not a con in my case but the energy button has a bright blue backlight that might impact other people. No USB 3. Installed a Samsung spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB drive and am incredibly pleased with the combo. All aluminum, sleek looking case particularly simple setupno noise do to no fans, thus no dust to clean out the aluminum physique dissapates the heat properly. work excellent with a sata III drive i just installed the jumper to take it town to SATA II.great transfer rates. on all ports none so fara little pricey, but i think the good quality is there and i would definately buy this once again in the future i would definately reccomend this enclosure if you want all of these distinct intarfaces,i use a macbook pro and Computer works great |

Solidly built. Effortless to use/ install. Matches my mac and Apple hardware perfectly. Hope they have new version comes with USB 3. Haven't had any difficulties whatsoever but though. None that I can feel of. I can't afford 10 a lot more? Would certainly suggest this to anybody looking at it. |
Quiet...quiet...quiet. Drive slips in and secures simply. The power button lights up a cool blue colour. The case looks wonderful and the aluminum keeps the drive cool. The dual Firewire 800 connections are excellent for daisy chaining the drives. The cables supplied can at times 'slip' out of the firewire connections on the case if you are moving these drive around a lot. Expense...yes, it costs more. The flexibility is worth it to me (eSata, Firewire 400몸, USB,...). You only buy a case after for a lot of really hard drives...don't obtain cheep, obtain excellent for the case.
