Have had this monitor for a while now. I use it at work doing graphic design and such. Not particularly the best monitor for graphic design (not ips) but it gets the job done.24" at the price was a no brainer. BenQ is definitely a reputable brand, albeit a little on the budget side. |

I got this monitor today as a replacement for a 16:10 16inch Acer monitor. It decided to burn out quietly one night on its own accord.Moving from a 19inch to a 24inch makes a big difference, particularly when watching 720/1080p and playing games.It did take a bit of configuring to get it looking right for me though (looks great now however). For starters the factory color options arent that great as previously stated. I used the color settings suggested here in another review though you'll likely want to turn down the contrast and brightness too.If you are using a HDMI cable the picture may not stretch to the sides of the screen for you if you are on a ATI/AMD card. There is an option under the catalyst control center to change the degree of overscan, which you will want to set it to zero to get the picture to take up the full screen.Ive tested out the headphone jack on the side of the monitor but found it to sound fairly flat on its default settings. You can turn the monitor up with the on screen display (which is a good start), and at least for me i could adjust the audio equalizer settings using Realtek's HD Audio Manager without having to adjust the equalizer settings for my default 5.1 device or default headphone port.Initial tweaking has it sounding pretty close to my default audio jack now and im sure with a bit more testing ill have it set perfectly to my liking.Another note is that there is a very slight amount of bleeding across the top of the monitor about 3mm's thick, but i havent found it noticeable in games or movies (just on a pure black background in paint). Compared to my old acer however thats nothing at all.It seems to be a good monitor, particularly for the price, and i would likely get another in the long run. As i have only had it for a day now ill leave this at 4 stars until i get a fuller impression. Just wanted to iterate that you will likely need to make some adjustments of your own, so do some tweaking before giving it a review straight out the box. |

Cons: viewing angle from below 20 degrees or more, is not so good....if rotated by 90 degress for a tall screen for coding, viewing from one side will be hard to see. (this shouldn't be a problem for most as the stand doesn't support rotating the monitor)

I love the details of products. With this screen, I really can't complain because it is one of the 24' inch monitors that won't empty your wallet. I got it on sale to replace my flatron w2052tq for a cheap $150.00. Two of the weaknesses that I've noticed are:The color; I've noticed a very weak orange... almost like a orange colored painting thats been sitting on your wall for 10 years.The base is a cheap plastic; It may just be me, but I prefer to get good quality components with maybe at least a block of plastic rather that the hollow plastic base I have right now.All in all, I would still have to say that I would indeed buy this monitor again. |

Doesn't come with DVI cable, it only comes with the VGA one.Default brightness is too high, reduce it by at least half.Buttons aren't visible enough, when you have to play with the buttons you have to have a thorough look to make sure you're pressing the right button.

So far love this monitor, bright,good color and size. It is replacing a samsung 19in and quality is outstanding. I have a 22in LG on another rig and the difference is very noticeable. I ordered the 24in samsung for a friend last week but never got to see it to be able to compare it. The price on this swayed me to go with benQ. I can't find any bad pixels which is a big plus although I bought the dead pixel warranty. I have it hooked up with a hdmi cable, too bad they don't give you a dvi cable. |

Could not be happier with this beautiful monitor. Have only ever purchased Samsung monitors. Their customer service used to be impeccable. Recently had an issue with a DVD-RW that they refused to resolve and decided I can do better. Hello BenQ!!!This monitor surpassed all my expectations. Bright and flashy out of the box. No dead pixels. An absolute breeze to set up.What a price on this one. Unbelievable how cheap LCD's have gotten in the past two years.Upgraded from a Samasung 20-inch widescreen LCD. Beautiful for the time I had it, but this is night and day. Could not go back if I wanted to.At the current sale price, you'd be a fool not to own one of these. |
