Looooow cost. Uncomplicated setup. This is a narrow AND quick board. Limited BIOS choices, Just one PATA controller. Just a single offered PCI slot if you are working with a two-slot video card. This is a narrow and brief board, so they had to cut some thing off! :-) I constructed a personal computer for a friend and we went lowball. When I saw the add for this MB I knew it was what we wanted. Setup was uncomplicated enough and WIndows XP install non-eventful. The only difficulty was the lack of PATA ports. He had an older drive we wanted to connect as a backup drive. Fortunately I had an old Maxtor controller card that worked but if you're installing vista or 7 I don't assume there are drivers for it.I managed to overclock the 2.8ghz CPU to 3.two effortlessly and with no voltage alterations but had to drop the memory multiplier to 667. But with the elevated FSB I am close to the 800 rated speed of the memory.

Cheap G41 board.Only extends 1 row of screws from back of case, generating it much easier to hook up in a smaller case with lots of drives that normally overlap the edge of the mother board. Lack of 1 Gigabit LAN (only 100 Mbps). No 1x lane PCI-e (just three slots)Minimal USB ports Purchased it to go with a low-cost processor (E3400) for use as as a file server. Would work out wonderful, except for the lack of gigabit LAN. Now need to contemplate buying a gigabit NIC which increases the price tag also much.

- Low-cost- Works as advertised- Great for a low cost web pc, file server, or budget client create - Only four SATA ports- Only 1 PATA controller (up to 2 devices)- Included SATA Cables extremely affordable I noticed that the integrated cables are quite inexpensive, when I bent them I could really hear a cracking sound. Right after reading an additional reviewer saying he had intermittent IO problems traced to the cable, I'm not surprised. Do not bend the cables a lot, and if you have IO problems begin with the SATA cable!

low cost There is a cause why BioStar is reviled as the worst corporation in the sector. This is the epitome of that. I am an IT expert and know what I am performing. Very first the USB ports didn't work. They intermittently worked if two. was disabled. The NIC doesn't perform at all. I utilised their web page to get the newest drivers and this board isn't even supported. The incorporated SW doesn't even run. This has been a nightmare, a wasted afternoon, and now I'm farther behind than if I bought one thing from a Actual firm. Remain as far away from this steaming pile as you can. Their top quality is so terrible. And, its not justy the inconvenience, its the return shipping, the WASTED hours, and so on. Manufacturer Response:Sorry to hear of your troubles, Biostar have been about since 1986 and promoting millions of motherboards yearly world wide. No manufacturer is great, but must you have any troubles our help staff will be there to help you and stand by the product and Biostar branding.626-581-1055 menu select two, or email support@biostar-usa.com

It performs and runs fine it fired up on very first attempt.Except for one con Does not run memory at 1066 speed which made me sad due to the fact I purchased this motherboard pondering it would ,but it does not. Nowhere in bios to set above 800 which sucks,no choice for 1066 as advertised. Other reviewer talked about this and I believed maybe I would be lucky and get 1 that does. First biostar motherboard

As a rule we've located that Biostars look to stand up superior than other brands that we've tried. Correct now we nevertheless have 3 units that where put into service in 2003񳏄, now that's what I get in touch with getting your $$$ worth.

Works. Steady. Fantastic client support (but Must Get in touch with 626-581-1055; no response if use site). Has BIOS bug that causes program to fail to go from Standby to Hibernate. I have Windows XP. You can reproduce the issue if you go to Energy Options, modify Method standby to 1 min, and System hibernates to 2 min. Following 1 minute, the program goes into standby. Right after a different minute, the system wakes up, BUT THEN FAILS TO HIBERNATE. I had to contact 626-581-1055 to get a fixed BIOS in 07񳏊. But Biostar still has not put the fixed BIOS on the internet site. Deducting 1 egg for the BIOS bug, and a different bug for nevertheless not releasing the fixed BIOS to absolutely everyone right after figuring out about the problem given that 07񳏊. Manufacturer Response:Sorry to hear of your troubles, our technical help staff has tried to replicate your problem but can\'t, so quite a few be some sort of combination you have or driver version that is not enabling the hibernate to wake correctly. Please email help@biostar-usa.com and incorporate your complete system configuration.

Cost, Very good layout, decent construction, good functionality under Win7 x64 (once properly configured) Had to manually configure Processor/RAM in order to get board functioning correctly. This is a decent starting point if for a price range Pc and it may well even operate for a budget HTPC if you add a Raedon HD5570. That obtaining been said, if you are new to developing PCs, this may not be the motherboard for you, simply because you may well have to dig deep into the BIOS settings to make it work properly. For instance, I had to enable Intel SpeedStep technology in the BIOS before the program would recognize my E6500 processor properly, and set RAM timings manually before my Corsair RAM worked properly. Why is this a concern? This is an entry level board, and these have been anything but entry level settings. If I was a much less skilled Computer builder, I probably would have wondered why the Pc was operating so gradually, tried contacting Biostar via e-mail for aid and may have even RMA'd the motherboard thinking it was broken, all simply because I didn't know what settings to change. So, with that in thoughts, I would propose the G41M7 to knowledgeable technique builders who want a excellent spending budget board.

Excellent board, very happy with the functionality, nice bios layout. great show w/info ahead of OS startup. The cause 2 stars have been docked is simply because this motherboard doesn't come with screws, so make sure you have some on hand or obtain some initial (you will need six). I would have been Truly mad if I didn't currently have like 20 laying about from my last mobo puchase. video card plugin switch (plastic switch) broke just by utilizing it normally... also no plugin gor 1394 maybe they should include screws considering that you definitely want them for this buy. they want to quit becoming low cost, the manual is even folded like a map since they didn't want to invest the cash on staples for a manual (I assume that's why)did I mention this mobo doesn't come with screws? Manufacturer Response:Sorry, Stand Alone motherboard purchases, I don't believe any make come with screws, they typically come with your case. But glad every thing working for you.

As well many to list, I popped in a Intel three.four HT 775 in this MB and I saw tiny wings pop out of my case, because this thing freagin flies. Super uncomplicated setup, BIOS was correct on the money on almost everything, just had to adjust date and time. I of course tweaked it a bit. It's doing far additional then I anticipated for ื. Alternatively of the psǘ mouse and keyboard I'd rather had more USB. But I have 4 the way it is so thats plenty. This is a super board for ื I'm going to acquire one more just to have 1 laying around.

Price tag, I got this board here for ฮ immediately after บ rebate just recently so tough to beat this deal. Operates outstanding and stable (I don't overclock anyway). I have three.06ghz core two duo cpu and 4gb ddr2 800 so it's plenty of power for my needs. Replaced my fried old pc-chips board, I also had to replace power provide for a great one. In addition to vga, HDMI or DVI output would be nice (for someone who makes use of onboard video). No SPDIF out (for HDMI on my nvidia 9600gt card), but I don't seriously use hdmi so it's ok. All round, good bang for the buck.

This board has been wonderful. Haven't had a single hiccup, freeze, crash or anything terrible. Overclocked my E6500 Wolfdale from two.93 to 3.2ghz without any challenge (highest I've tried). Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit & it had all required drivers for the board, no will need to use CD or web page drivers (although I did go to their site beforehand & downloaded them all just in case...not sure why the preceding reviewer couldn't find them). None This is a wonderful board, for what it is. Not bleeding edge at this point, but if you have the slightly older elements that fit this board, there is no purpose to get a much more high priced 1.

Set up simple, worked appropriate out of the box, with the left over components from my upgrade Will not run with any OS older then Win XP 3rd edition, Attempted to set up with both pro and house, and got a blue screen of death with a lot of error codesContacted biostar help, they very first suggested I try unique memory, did that exact same concern, then out of pure fustration I applied my Vista I run on my new system, It set up no issues. Biostar support was rapid to respond, but not that valuable, If you do not run an older OS this is a extremely nice board, In order to use this board I will have to shell out yet another hundred bucks for a new OS.

Performs excellent except for S3 sleep situation. I am also experiencing a problem with S3 sleep as reported by others here and elsewhere on the Web. Motherboard will go into an S3 sleep and awaken just fine. If put back into sleep a second time, program will seem to be going back to sleep but then right away reboot. Have attempted numerous settings in Bios and Windows 7 Power Management. Running Windows 7 32-Bit Home Premium, E3300, 4GB. Not possessing this problem with other Windows 7/Vista machines on distinct motherboards.

Easy overclock with the right ram.Low-cost, solid board. No DVI or HDMI but Biostar has other models that do... I did not acquire this motherboard from newegg.com but I shop on newegg all the time. I got this board as a inexpensive combo with an Intel e3300 processor from a major California retailer. On stock settings the board will volt the cpu to 1.37v below load. So with the e3300 and 2 x 1gb 1066 ram, three.325ghz was orthos prime stable just by altering the fsb to 266, locking pci-e to 100, and picking 667 for ram. 3.5ghz was also stable (set fsb to 280) with the addition of bumping up the mch voltage to the next level. 3.6ghz was not stable under reasonable settings with onboard video. I suspect larger stability may well be in reach for this board and an e3300 with either the 800򗨊 bsel mod or making use of a pci-e graphics card as an alternative on the onboard video but I'm good at three.5ghz for this spending budget process I built.

Cheap, functions wonderful, overclocks nicely, great characteristics, great layout, and looks excellent. Dual slot cooler does not block something. Fired up on the very first try. na Had some components lying close to so I wanted to place a spare box together on the affordable. Biostar is great is you want reliability but don't want to shell out alot of cabbage. I have utilized them in quite a few builds and their brand has often accomplished nicely. With no burn in time, took an E2200 in the low 3 ghz range.
