dualhead video; O.C. voltage handle and much more; lots of adjustable RAM timings. As of Feb. 2011, this is a single of the few socket 775 mainboards with dual-head video and overclocking voltage manage. Compared to my older Gigabyte board, this Biostar G41 DVI accomplished a 20% increase in my overclocked Q6600 CPU speed, up from two.40GHz (stock) to 2.86GHz (Gigabyte GA-965GM-S2) and on to 3.10GHz (Biostar G41 GVI). I do coding on this method, not gaming, so the constructed-in video with overclocking assistance is great. With stock cooler and open case Prime95 ran for seven Ɨ) hours with no failures and peak tCase of 77C and peak core0 of 90C. Yes, that exceeds the documented tCase max of 71C, but A) there have been no errors, and B) actual-life applications don't crush like Prime95 does.Overclocked CPU to 3.10GHZ (stock two.40GHz)Overclocked RAM to 430.4MHz (stock 400MHz) only two RAM slots; no 1394 ports; only eight USB ports; cpu multiplier not configurable (e.g. locked at 9X on my Q6600); only 2.96GB offered out of 4GB (not as opposed to many other boards). With stock cooler and open case Prime95 ran for seven Ɨ) hours with no failures and peak tCase of 77C and peak core0 of 90C. Yes, that exceeds the documented tCase max of 71C, but A) there were no errors, and B) actual-life applications don't crush like Prime95 does. As I create this, Speedfan reports tCase is 31C and core0 is 45C. CPUZ reports "core voltage" at 1.31V. Speedfan reports vCore1 at 1.31V and vCore2 at 1.14V. In contrast, the BIOS boot window reports CPU voltage at 1.280V, Chipset at 1.136V,FSB at 1.232V, Memory Voltage at 1.952V. Performs wonderful as in normal functionality with no extra frills stock every little thing would probably be fine. Advocate for passing hardware on to family or close friends, not low cost develop shoppers on a price range wanting some overclocking and aftermarket cooling. Poor fan speed controling program/ Limited overclocking in 5-10-15% for both FSB and Voltage so to considerably or to little voltage per clock speed could be a apparent situation with this board. I did not overclock clients q6600 after seeing this. Would not control tuniq tower 120mm, or fatal1ty 120mm (flat) aftermarket cooler stated (Fan speed out of manage) So had to hook up a manual controller and make a mod in case to make it effortless to get to whilst being not tacky for a consumer.

Solid board, no difficulties on either of the two we bought. Good DVI or VGA output from onboard video. 4 SATA ports. Biostar's web page for driver downloads was uncomplicated to use and decent DL rate (especially compared to ASUS website). RAM max is 8GB. Only two RAM slots, 1 SATA port may well be blocked by large PCIe video card, Only 1 PCIe (x16) slot, has 2 "old" PCI slots, wish it had at least a single much more PCIe (even a x1). Specs: ş XP Pro SP3 32bit, E6400 w/stock fan, 2GB Crucial PC2-6400 CT2KIT12864AA800, WD 320GB IDE HDD, nVidia 8800GTS.Specs: Š Vista Organization 32bit, E6400 w/stock fan, 2GB Critical PC2-6400 CT2KIT12864AA800, Hitachi 40GB SATA HDD, onboard video. PCMark05 score򕵭.

Uncomplicated to install, no surprises in socket areas. G41 video pretty decent, as great or better than dedicated Nvidia cards from five years ago. Set up two employing E6300 Core-2 Duos salvaged from dead Dell mobos and each began up fine initially. Beyond style limitations (only two memory slots, one particular PCI-X slot) which I knew going in, I had one particular dilemma. I wanted to compare onboard (G41) video with recent PCI (Sparkle) card I had. Removed then reinserted card (with typical precautions, care and force) and mobo died. It seemed flimsier than I am accustomed to -- perhaps that's typical of this value range, but a nuisance to replace. Bought an practically identically featured ASUS to replace it, which is no wonderful shakes, but fairly similar. New life to two old CPUs -- saved a few hundred more than purchasing newer machines. Too negative old Dell XPS410s had been built with the now obsolete BTX boards -- could have reused every thing but the dead mobo...

Really uncomplicated and basic motherboard. Drivers can be downloaded on site. CMOS battery was dead. I don't think the BIOS lets you overclock your cpu.

I built a medium grade gaming machine with this board. I am running Windows 7 and have a Pentium 2.4Ghz Dual Core installed. It has the ability to connect front USB ports if needed. Nice little board!

I am using this as an interim board transitioning from an old P4 system to, eventually, a high end core i7. It was an excellent choice for me as I upgrade other components over time. Certainly, this is not the only use for the board and anyone looking for a very high value motherboard with lots of standard features including onboard DVI and-or VGA video will be thrilled with it. I am getting exellent performance with my Q9550, and when I emailed customer support, they responded quickly and clearly. No phone call needed. The ONLY drawback is no RAID because of budget G41 chipset, but most people looking at this won't care. It's a peach!

Used this to build a computer for family on the cheap. Works great, running W7 and kickin'. Has all the features I need for their system and you can't beat the price. Put in a Core 2 Duo and doesn't skip a beat for home use.
