Low-cost board that had all of the key requirements I was searching for. Employing this Motherboard I was able to create an inexpensive Pc running Window 7 Pro with no any troubles. The onboard video is fantastic sufficient for the non-gamer needs, and has worked fantastic so far. None However.

it would be a great board if it werent for the annoying tiny items(see cons) i got my e6500 oc'd to three.5Ghz, and its capable to go up to 8gb of 1333 ram, (ive only tested working with 1066 ram even though) - the panel exactly where you plug in the power switch apparently is faulty, it turns on for like 1Ǚ of a sec, then wait two secs, then it start out powering up, posting, os boot, and so on...-theres also a thing wrong with the front panel sound connection, no sound at all when plugged through the front panel, back only, i had to rma the initially a single mainly because other parts of the very first board werent working, like the sata ports(often cuts off the connection from HD or the DVDD) energy button wasnt working properly, problems with processor, second board came with less troubles though(i wouldhv thought much better if no difficulties)seasonic 520we6500 cpukingston ddr3 1066 4gbƒx2gbၔgb samsung 7200rpmevga geforce 9500 gt

OC's quite effortless. Had to reset bios before it posted.Wouldn't let me clock my stock 1333 ram at 1333. Let it reboot a handful of occasions and it will supply to reset bios settings. So far it appears like a great board. Good value. Modest board with a lot of functions. Uncomplicated to set up. Stock video card is fantastic for a basic media center. Haven't found any so far

The board is a decent worth. Works good if you have a spare LGA 775 CPU. It is in a position to run every little thing from a Pentium four to a Core 2 Quad. Supports DDR3. Currently running a Pentium D 940 Ɠ.2 Ghz) with four GB DDR3 1333 and a Geforce G210 as a media center pc. Operating Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Flashing the BIOS was much more difficult than other boards that I have applied. I had to borrow a buddy's Core 2 Duo and a floppy disk drive to flash the board. Seriously, who nevertheless uses floppy disks? The board uses the ICH7 chipset, so ACHI is not supported. If you are going to run anything much less than a Core 2 Duo, make confident to have the latest BIOS (P6) and make confident that CPU is supported. MSI has a complete list of supported CPUs on there web page.

DDR3 helpNewer 775 design for newer 775 chipsnice northbridge cooler My dual channel memory wouldn't post. I get the blue LED light flashing continuously. Get rid of the memory stick closest to the CPU and it posted fine.Had to flash the newest BIOS ahead of the dual channel memory worked. It's a wonderful small board. I bought it as a shell shocker kit. I didn't take any eggs off for the troubles as these are prevalent matters with any board.I bought some Generic 2GBƒx1GB) DDR3 Kingston sticks model # KVR1333D3K2ǘGR. These operate excellent with the board. I also got an E5700 three. GHZ with the kit as effectively ad these need updating for a BIOS as they are made in early 2010. So any BIOS will require updating with any newer chip.I wish I would have purchased a nice CPU cooler so I could overclock this chip to run at the exact same speed as the memory. CPU is only 800MHz while the memory is 1333MHz.

you can read the specs and see the pics -Will not boot with two sticks of Kingston KVR1066D3K2which are the two 1GB sticks that came with the shell shocker combo. Shocker.-The board overhangs the right-side standoffs just far adequate to really feel like it will crack when inserting the ATX connector.-Board feels a wee-bit also thin.-The four-pin 12v connector is in the worst position achievable.-The BIOS update instructions call for some ..translating. HOW TO Repair THIS:**if you have not flashed a BIOS before, don't attempt this.**(note: I applied a USB floppy drive to do this)-Get a Windows Me boot disk-download and unzip the most up-to-date bios update from MSI-make a second floppy disk with these files-open the word doc instructions and print/save/whatever so you can read them-go directly to the "flashing from non-fat BIOS" section-comply with the directions in the word doc EXCEPT: -ignore the C:/test point-its not needed-use C: instead of D: in the examples (ram drive)-make certain to copy the correct file names with the right file extensions (.exe and .p50)-the flash utility execute command has a space ahead of the BIOS update file name-it will not reboot when finished-you reboot it-it will say checksum bad-press F1 set the date and time and turn off the rapidly boot F10 to save-reboot and get pleasure from seeing v25.five! which will operate with most all memory forms!

Not prepared to list the pros but, as well early to tell, as I have run into an issue appropriate away. I am getting an odd problem with memory on this board. I purchased two sticks of this memory (Item#: N82E16820144455) for this board, and when I try to boot with each sticks, it powers up with no video for about five seconds, and then reboots, and continues this behavior. I can boot with either stick by itself, but not both, even if I switch them in the slots. Picked up a combo deal, spending budget develop for a friend. Paired with Pentium E5700 Wolfdale and some Gskill 2gbx2 ram. Realistically it's most likely overkill for what it will be employed for, but it operates. Initially, my CPU was operating hot at idle and load, like Africa hot. Re-seated heat sink with some artic silver with no real transform. I'm not a fan of the push pin style but was nonetheless hesitant to drop the added income for a various heat sink. A single would assume the supplied 1 would at lease be sufficient. In the end I turned off the "auto" setting for my cpu voltage in the BIOS and dropped it a bit manually. Nonetheless runs a little warm but is significantly far more manageable and ran by means of a Prime95 series just fine. Longevity will be the eventual deciding factor for any budget board.

Everything worked nicely on initially boot. It's quicker than older LGA 775 motherboards I've used. Windows 7 64 bit installation was a breeze. Couldn't make the memory operate previous 1066MHZ. I've employed 4GB ƒx2GB) of OCZ Gold Low Voltage DDR3 1333 and did not have any difficulties. I upgraded to 8GB ƒx4GB) of Patriot G Series Sector five DDR3 1600 MHZ and it nevertheless worked fine, though on each memories they only run at 1066MHZ. For these interested in WEI the memory score is 7.2 (same for 4GB and 8GB) and the onboard graphics is four.4 for Aero and three.5 for 3D.

similar as below No AHCI mode. I bought an SSD for this factor and now it won't run correctly as I can't use Intel Rapid Storage Technologies (RST) drivers. Luckily the SSD have Garbage Collection, but it runs randomly and my SSD can get slower than my HDD at occasions. Beware of al new 775 motherboards. They are employing the ICH7 chipset that doesn't assistance AHCI. I have no clue why intel would release such an old south bridge on these boards with SSD becoming so well-known.Make positive the board you buy has AHCI assistance if you assume you will be employing SSD now or in the future. I highly advise SSDs.

Price is very good. Will not boot to BIOS without having graphics card (not included in combo). VGA port onboard is not operative for boot. PS2 ports for mouse and keyboard not dependable - hangs unexpectedly. Installed graphics card and wireless important board and mouse (purchased separately) with Windows XP (chose this more than Vista and 7 for efficiency). Results is great. Lots of installation headaches. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Client,We would like to apologize for the problem you have knowledgeable with this distinct mb. For what this board provides, it's a actual steal. Loaded it up with windows 7 64-bit, 4GB of RAM (which I'm getting to RMA for factors unrelated to this board), and a Celeron Wolfdale E3300. I'm not an overclocker, so I'm running every thing at stock speeds, and it does every thing I want it to.HD content plays back smoothly at full screen on my 40" LCD Television via the VGA output (haven't gotten an HDMI cable to use with it yet). All the devices had been located by Windows and function appropriately on 1st boot. The BIOS-based flash program is a breeze to use--certain beats digging around for a still-working floppy drive and disk. All in all, if you need to have a quickly, much more-than-simple PC, take into account basing it on this board. The on-board graphics leave some thing to be desired, of course, but if you want to, you can constantly purchase a PCIe graphics card of your selection and make this factor fly. There are only two RAM slots, so feel "future-proof" when you obtain RAM, because you'll have to throw out whatever's in there when you upgrade.

low-cost, included in bundle that newegg had for 趚 for a simple desktop DOES NOT POST! identical concern as other users; motherboard will power on, spin fans for 10 seconds and then power off and repeats the challenge. I am an avid desktop builder and have not had a DOA mobo in almost 5 years. I cannot recommend this board at all; pay a little far more for a higher high quality board. a new board must not be DOA, and does not seem to be an isolated concern (see the other reviews) I honestly have not had really great luck w/MSI motherboards lately. My Gigabyte and Asus boards have by no means had post problems, particularly out of the box. I WILL BE RMAING THIS BOARD AND NOT RECOMMENDING IT TO Any person. Works reasonably good when you figure the bios challenge out. I had the same problem as other people here when installing two sticks of memory. System runs fine on one stick. To resolve, I began by flashing the bios to the latest. That in itself didn't fix. I then use the Load Failsafe Bios settings, and that fixed. Its doable that I only necessary to Load Failsafe, but too late now to know.
