Cons: HeatStylePower BrickSome hardware and software issuesNo USB3

Pros: PowerQuietStyleCost
Comment:
An incredible amount of power packed into a relatively small package. Does get hot though, exhaust when loaded is very hot and shoots far out the back. No problem with the heat and the hardware though.Power brick is very large and gets very hot. Also due to the 150W nature of it, it is hard to find any sort of replacement.

Cons: Initial defects which have subsequently been fixedLove it or Hate it lookTouchpad buttons are stiff

Pros: Excellent gaming performance and qualityExtremely good valueLarge touchpadNumpad

Note: I bought the A2 version, not the A1. The ONLY difference is blu-ray vs dvd drive. This laptop is excellent in all categories. The design is probably a love/hate thing, but I really like it. The slightly rubberized palm rest is really nice and the chiclet keyboard is great. I really like the matte finish. Only issue so far is the touchpad buttons are a little stiff (but I use a mouse so they'll never get "worn in").The machine runs pretty cool considering the hardware inside. The fans are far from loud and usually stay at what I would consider quiet. So far, I've had great gaming experiences. Games look pretty and perform very well which was the main reason for purchasing this computer. Certainly for the price, I could not find anything comparable. There were some issues initially. As of now, the problems have been fixed but its important to note. The problems are well documented on other forums so I wont go into detail too much. The two main issues I had were missing keystrokes and the GSOD (Grey screen of death). Both problems have been fixed with BIOS updates and a very recent (Sept 3) vBIOS update. Using then newest firmware and drivers, this computer rocks.

Cons: Suspect component reliability

Pros: Fast, great screen, backlit keyboard
Comment:
OK, when I say I've owned this laptop for 3 months, I've only had it for 2 and ASUS has been holding onto it for 1. My computer experienced the "psychedelic screen of death" 2 months in, and it's been sitting in an ASUS repair facility since that time. I've been unable to get any date estimates from their tech support. They've assured me that this turnaround time is "unacceptable", and that's nice, but it's not really helpful. I'm guessing that they're having trouble sourcing the screens since the PSOD doesn't seem to be entirely uncommon. In addition to this problem, I was having some stability problems with the video card. The stock drivers would crash under Photoshop with video acceleration turned on. Updating the video card drivers would get Photoshop working, but cause weird desktop problems (video artifacts) after playing a game. The 3D stuff, however, seemed rock solid. Before the long repair wait, I was really enjoying using it. It's a solid-feeling machine, the fans seem to keep it running nice and cool, and it's *fast*. The backlit keyboard is a really nice feature when using it in the dim/dark. The trackpad is huge and with an easy tweak you can enable multi-touch gestures on it (strange that these aren't on by default). Minor annoyance with the otherwise awesome screen, though: it doesn't tilt back very far at all.Oh, and the battery life is terrible, but when buying a gaming laptop that's par for the course. So, in summary: nice machine, but keep your fingers crossed that you get a good unit.

Cons: Cant upgrade drivers over ASUS GPU drivers or laptop crashes (GSOD), kind of sad realy most say this can be fix by taking it appart and reaplying the thermal paste on the GPU but how many would want to risk it, no updated drivers means no DX11 fix for Battlefeild: bad company 2.

Pros: Awesome laptop, fast, blu ray, 2 hard drives, top of the line GPU, plays anything on high.
Comment:
Pretty much all A1 useres have the driver issue, if you get this I strongly recommend reaplying the thermal paste PROPERLY here is a link to help thoses who might have this issue http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/498015-g73-gsod-fixes-resources.html

Cons: rubber stability pads come off too easypower cable too short

Pros: Big touchpadnice displaycomes with backpack and mouse

Had to replace my old lappy and wanted one that would suit business and entertainment needs. This thing does a great job for any application. Handles every game i own at the highest settings ( HL, MW2, WoW, TF2, etc ) Love this new laptop, in fact I cant remember when i was on my home pc last lol. Highly recommend this laptop for anyone to purchase. My only gripe is maybe an HDMI cord instead of the mouse as an accessory. Not that big of a deal though. Oh yeah, the power cord is way too short, I would've liked for that to be longer.Great laptop!!!

Cons: The battery life isn't really great. Its is pretty heavy.

Pros: This computer is crazy in all of its gaming, can play every game at maximum graphics. Four memory slots, already upgraded to 16GB.

This is great, my friend got a G51J with Nvidia GTS 360 and I can say mines better! His display isn't that good, and his sometimes lags upon some games, the G73 is an awesome computer compared to any laptop on the market!

Cons: -Touchpad can be a bit sensitive.-Some bloatware, easily removed.

Pros: +Price+Performance+Display+Note taking battery life+Temperatures
Comment:
This machine absolutely flies. There is no other machine that can give you better performance at a similar price. The CPU and GPU are top notch, maxing out most games with some AA at native resolution (1920x1080). The cooling system is also amazing. Running Furmark and OCCT at the same time only brought the CPU up to 80C and the GPU up to 85C (I plan to re-paste both and possibly do some modifications to help cool the VRAM [which only got up to 90C in Furmark]). The display is gorgeous compared to what you normally get in a laptop, beautiful colours with good brightness. Lastly, the battery life is also very good considering the intended use of the machine. Under maximum battery conditions (lowest brightness, no wifi, etc.), I'm able to get 2:30 hours for note taking. Upping the brightness and adding wifi should bring you down to somewhere near 1:30-1:45. If you're looking for a portable gaming machine, you will not find something better at this price.

Cons: Battery Life, Rubber Feet Fall Off

Pros: Processor, Memory, Video Card, Speakers, 1080p Screen, HDMI, 4xUSB, Blu-Ray, Wireless-N, Back-Lit Keyboard
Comment:
Ok so i have edited my review to go over the past 3 months of living with my ASUS G73JH-A1 laptop.I have now had my G73JH-A1 for 3 months and I do not regret my purchase one bit.You get a Core i7 quad core processor, 8GB of DDR3 memory, 2x500GB HDD's that can be swapped with SSD's. ATI 5870m graphics card with DirectX 11, Blu-Ray, 4 USB ports, HDMI, Wireless N and a 1920x1080 17.3" Display that is beautiful to look at!The first thing i did when i received my laptop was burn the factory recovery disc's using the software provided after you finish setting up Windows. I than proceeded to format the hard drive and do a clean install using a OEM Windows 7 CD, I than installed just the drivers using the ASUS Utility disc a select  few other applications so that the computer would be as clean as possible with no bloatware. The computer has been running strong for the past 3 months with only two issues that i have encountered. The first issue was the rubber feet on the bottom of the laptop have started to fall off after just 3 months, this is not a fatal or huge issue to me but I want to put that out there so everybody knows before hand. The second issue i have encountered is I own a Steel Series XAI gaming mouse and for whatever reason the laptop refuses to load into Windows if the mouse is plugged in before the laptop is turned on, I have tried many other USB mice (Logitech, Razer, Microsoft) and the laptop will boot/post/login to Windows just fine. So if you're buying this laptop and have a Steel Series XAI mouse, remembered to unplug your XAI from the USB port otherwise the laptop will just hang at the Windows Logo. I have attended quite a few lan party's in the last 3 months and I haven't had an issue running any of the games that we play (Team Fortress 2, Starcraft 2 Beta, Call of Duty MW2, Dirt2, Half-Life 2, Just Cause 2 and quite a few more.) I have run all my games at highest settings and average 60fps or higher. The rubberized finish on the laptop makes it feel and look like a gamer/rugged laptop and it is very comfortable to type on and rest your hands/palms on even after long gaming sessions. The back-lit keyboard is great for when your at a lan party or just playing in the dark! The laptop ventilates itself so well that you never even notice how hot it actually gets, Just warn anybody who sits across from you at a lan party because the heat goes pretty far and will keep the person sitting across from you pretty warm! This laptop is incredible value for money and you cannot go wrong with one 5/5 stars from me, I hope this review helps anybody sitting on the fence or trying to decide if its worth it! Cons: its big, and heavy... but you know that the mouse feels weird at first, compared to my razer copperhead, but i've got used to it.

Pros: almost everything! really sturdy, very crisp screen, nice feeling keyboard. it keeps cool, especially for whats under the hood, so the design is excellent!

if you don't buy this and you buy another name brand computer that costs upwards of $1500 or more, kick yourself. from first power on, to writing this, i have been amazed by this laptop. it is fast, and it has blazed through bad company 2 maxed out 1080p res, and hasn't bogged down. i've thrown my whole collection of games on here and everything runs maxed out. I didn't get the blu-ray, but i have watched blu-ray movies on here and they are sharp. the best part is it looks like a stealth bomber, and ppl are always commenting on it! this is a gaming laptop, 100%!!
