Cons: - Weighty, not unmanageable but still not as convenient to lug around as a normal laptop

Pros: Amazing machine, outperforms my gaming desktop for skyrim and Battlefield 3.- Keeps nice and cool, haven't had it even feel warm to the touch since using even after playing skyrim for 4 or 5 hours straight.- Back-lit keyboard is nice when using it in low light conditions.- Fans are super quiet
Comment:
This laptop is awesome, I've owned it a month now and it hasn't disappointed yet. It's easily able to handle Battlefield 3 and Skyrim on the highest settings and keep cool while doing it. The fans are virtually silent and do their job well. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-15-11 09:33 AM

Cons: HEAVY: It weighs alot, it really does, but it should with all the awesome built in, but I definitely wont be putting it in a backpack and taking it to school, anyway I got a netbook for that.AUDIO: It`s hit and miss, the speakers are at the rear, so on a hard surface you get fantastic audio filling the room, but on a bed, or other soft surface, it gets very easily muffled.EXTRAS: No DVI, trackpad software scrolling sucks, only 1 USB 3.0 and 3 USB 2.0 (needs more)

Pros: FAST: I'm coming from an Intel dual gore 3ghz, so take this for what it's worth, but this computer is blazingly fast, 3 months in and my startup time hasn't changed, I turn it on, and in 45 seconds and I'm surfing the internet, working on homework, fragging some newbs :)GRAPHICS: HOLY S**T, once again, I'm coming from a Nvidia GT220, with this beast of a machine I'm flying through Crysis, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, all never dropping below 25 fps, in fact fraps tells me I average 40, all at the highest settings (minus Antialiasing since, at 1080p, I personally can barely see the difference).UPGRADABLE: very easy to upgarde the HDD as there is a second bay that can accept up to 750gb for a 1.5 tb total, and the 4 ram slots are also very easy to get to for upgrading up to a max of 16 gbEXTRAS: USB 3.0, 3D BD player, HDMI out, great keyboard, amazing quality mouse keys, gorgeous screen, backlit keys, bluetooth (dont know what it can be used for on a laptop but still, awesome), great build quality.

I love it, I honestly feel like it will last me forever, barring technological advances, this could serve as the last computer anyone would ever need. Perfect for all uses. Check out my list of pros and cons though for more details.

Cons: None seen so far.

Pros: Stunning Display!Very Quiet.Awesome look and feel.Price! For the component combination including Screen size/resolution CPU and Video Card you simply cannot beat the price. ( I got it last week when the weekly sale price was $1250) Audio! (make sure you change the THX trustudio application to use external speakers instead of Internal) Sweet, loud and clear.POWER! A little beast of a machine. With the combination of the quad core CPU and 3gb Video card this baby cooks.
Comment:
I could not be happier with this purchase. This machine never heats up or makes any noise. I had Dead Space 2 with ALL settings maxxed at 1920x1080 for about 8 hours Never an FPS below 30, no heat no noise.Dragon Age 2 with ALL settings maxxed at 1920x1080 for about 8 hours no heat no noise 25+fps (on High settings 30-50 fps)Metro 2033 with ALL settings maxxed (on DirectX 10 25+fps) (DirectX 11 FPS were around 13)Change to 'High' from 'Very high' and you get 35+ fps no heat no noise. The solid build of the chassis is excellent. It may be near 10 lbs but when you pick it up it has NO flexIt looks mean! I love this laptop. When you fire up a game in the Dark, the clarity and quality of the 17.3 screen really comes home. I find myself admiring it continually.Keyboard is solid, large and the keys have a very nice feel. They feel like quality. No looseness and quiet. The audio quality is great! Again make sure that you change the THX trustudio app to use "External Speakers"! (search for the THX application in the search bar above the start button)I had the lights off and the audio cranked during a session of Dead Space 2 and nearly destroyed my underwear a couple of times.Again, if you are a serious gamer, you know what to look for. Video card, then CPU, then RAM to get the most out of your games for your money. The combination in this laptop, coupled with a killer screen and the price make this the best buy that you can find. I looked like a mad fool for weeks and this one is the best deal.NCIX I love you guys. I bought my last laprop from you (Also Asus) and both have been fantastic. Thank you for your agressive pricing!I will be buying the next from you as well.Shipping was great as well. I ordered on Wednesday night at 4:33 pm (an hour before the sale closed) and got my laptop Friday morning at 10am. Purolator express shipping from you in Vancouver to me in Toronto) Thank you!!!

Cons: Huge machine (no good to travel though), quite a few keyboard/track pad problems going on with these models, huge charger pack.

Pros: Good looking machine, Great performance (7.2-7.6 Windows experience index, other than 5.9 Hard drive speed), silk finish, big 17.3" screen, no-flex keyboard, never runs hot, nice slanted keyboard position (wrist rests), full size keyboard with numpad (calculator type),awesome graphics, huge machine (nice if always used around the same place). Mostly a great machine at a competitive price.
Comment:
The computer is absolutely great if you are wanting to replace a desktop computer. If you think you'll be wanting to transport this unit around, I think you're wanted to save fees from subscribing at your local gym, for it is quite a big and chunky machine. Again, this is a matter of opinion as for if it's a pro or a con; in my case, I do not need to carry it around, but I still do not need a whole desk, with screen and keyboard, while having the same type of performance. They keyboard feels really strong; the key have no flex, and are Chiclets, surrounded by aluminum like surroundings. The F-keys are used as functions, so you do not mistakenly hit one of those "feather touch keys" while going loco on your keyboard.Talking about keyboard - there are a lot of complaints online about issues related to it, and the track-pad. For some reason, when I unboxed the laptop, I had no control over both devices. I tried many things, read on forums, updated drivers, uninstalled others - installed X or Y software, flashed bios, made peanut butter toasts, plugged in a USB mouse - and still nothing would work. A lot of people have been having similar problems, even with the last model replaced by this one, the G73 series. For some reason, I managed to get the keyboard/track-pad to work, most likely due to magic, or Jesus - but I no longer have any problems with it. It did a little crazy last evening, and died on me again, but I think it's fixed now... for some strange reason.Other than the keyboard/track-pad issue, I am quite satisfied with this purchase, as long as it doesn't free-game on me again. If it does, then it'll certainly be the most expensive shelf-holder I have ever purchased - up to date.

Cons: - Weight- Battery life

Pros: - Rally fast- Lot of RAM and possibility to add more- Decent video card for gaming- Keyboard layout
Comment:
Aside from a little issue with the keyboard I got with the first one NCIX shipped me, I can honestly say that I'm very happy with my purchase. It's really fast, got a lot of ram, the video card can run games at high settings with almost no issues or lag. The design of the laptop is really sleek, the cooling system is a god send. Blu-ray movies are stunning to look at. The screen is beautiful. The keyboard design is really good too. People who have big fingers like me will especially like the keyboard layout. The keyboard backlightning is a nice feature too. This laptop will serve me as a desktop replacement for everything business/entertainment when I'm away from home. I say desktop replacement because that damn thing is really heavy and power hungry. In my case, the battery lasts for more than 2 hours but I'm sure it would be far less if I'd decided to play a game or watch a movie. If you're just looking for a laptop that surfs the web, I'd recommend you to look elsewhere or for something smaller. But if you're like me and you need heavy computer power on the go, you're always in your suitcase and can't afford to take your tower with you anywhere you go, this may fit your need especially if you need the kind of specs this laptop have.
