Wonderful motherboard, appreciate the layout, there is enough space for my Hyper 212+ with two fans and nonetheless let for all 4 ram slots to match the heatsinks on the g-skill ripjaw ram.Has core unlocking, good if you buy a 555be like i did. Only feasible con is that you can let it automatically unlock your cpus additional cores if applicable, but if a core is flaky, it could unlock it and you won't be in a position to truly run the computer with it, so you will want to choose and select what to disable till you have it proper. Not a con, additional of a limitation of technologies pondering for itself I suppose. Definitely set up your os etc. just before unlocking any cores if you strategy to do so. Then worry about unlocking/overclocking etc.

I was surprised to locate two SATA cables incorporated, the SATA terminals are parallel to the board - anything I haven't observed on my prior MSI and Asus merchandise. The incorporated SATA cables have proper-angle connections which worked effectively in my ATX mid-tower case.Onboard video (ATI Radeon HD 4250) operates effectively (tested with some 1080p video in different formats) and was my principal reason for choosing this board.CPU fan/thermal control seems to work extremely properly. Chipset heat sink not firmly secured, ended up cleaning completely and utilizing Arctic Silver five.Gets through BIOS so speedily it is sometimes challenging to trigger setup.Unlike my prior MSI K8N Neo Platinum in the exact same case, and regardless of possessing connections for technique fans, neither the BIOS or Gigabyte's utilities can differ the technique fan speeds - forcing me to buy a fan speed controller. There were some graphical issues with the BIOS following I produced modifications away from defaults, but they look to have gone away.Gigabyte's utilities would be far more beneficial if it weren't for their poor interface style. Unless Gigabyte improves method fan control, I will not obtain an additional mobo. Each my older MSI K8N Neo Platinum and Asus P5B-E supply greater user manage; a paramount concern in this HTPC build. Now I need to go shop for a decent seeking fan controller for TWO freakin' fans.Even though the SPD settings seem right, the sheer quantity of RAM-related control in the BIOS is unsettling.I have Rev two.2 board with F7 firmware.Thermaltake VA3000 TsunamiPhenom X2 555BEG Talent two x 2GB DDR3 1333 MHzAntec BP550

I bought this July of 2010 and it has verified to be a single of my favorites. Tons of characteristics. Three approaches to flash Bios. @bios is rapid and brilliant. Good OC'ing. CPU 955 OC'ed to 3950 steady on straight setting. Cool n quiet runs 820-3800 mhz. Mushkin ram Redline 1600 stable at 824mhz 7-8-7-24-30-T1. NB set 2060mhz dual channel unganged. On-board 4250 is significantly a lot more strong than I anticipated and took a moderate OC. MSI GTS 250 runs excellent and GTX 465 as well. two pin cmos clr excellent for extended switch mod. 8 cmos presets. Far more bios features to tweak computer than I have ever observed. Computer software that comes with the mb is quite beneficial. Easy Tune was updated by Gigabyte ahead of the update it glitched with the sound but is fine now. This was referenced by a previous reviewer. I have had zero challenges with any of the 12 hdd's i have utilised on this board. Seagate Hitachi Maxtor Western Digital Samsung Quantum...yes i mentioned Quantum. I have been satisfied with previous Gigabytes but this 1 is the Bomb. Sound chip.....At first the sound was terrible. Like i mentioned other people have noted a challenge between ET6 and the sound chip that triggered scratching noises. but they fixed it with a newer ET6. There was also a challenge with the sound fluctuating up and down when playing mp3's. I attempted for hours to come up with a option for this but gave up on it and chaulked it up to onboard sound on the other hand months later I flashed the bios and updated system drivers and the second sound issue went away. I guess firmware and drivers matured.?. Either way I was content sufficient with the board I was keeping it anyway. Who expects onboard sound to be as good as soundstorm was anyhow? Not really as well much of a con... other people have pointed out the northbridge passive heat sink becoming loose so I checked mine and it was fine but searching at the springs I can see how it may well be an issue. But like I say mine is fine. Gigabyte has been updating the software and bios given that release of this MB. Note the web site is straightforward to locate your MB and download section. This is a big deal mainly because not all MB producers have taken the time or care to retain up on this finish of the sale. ga880gsud3h with f4 bios955 BE cpu set to 3950 MHZ straight setting and 820-3800 MHZ CNQ cpu bus set 206 HT hyperlink 2060Dram 824 ratio 1ɈDual PSU settup functions fine on this technique as effectively. On a previos DFI program i had concerns running IDE"S with Sata 1 and two... not on this board .Operating older ide dvd and cd burners with no issues.Appears to recognize every thing I have attached to it with out a difficulty. Hope this assists you....

I did notice that the dvd drive goes dead after plugging into the ata jack. I have in no way had a issue with gigabyte boards and I have built quite a few systems with them. Hopefully this is just a glitch on this board. I was hoping for a smoking rapid system B4 xmas AMD x6 3. gb processor, 16 gb gskill ripjaws memory and this MOBO. The final constructed computer for me has been in 2000, so this has been a significantly anticipated upgrade. Perhaps to final me for another ten years. Upgraded from AM2+ running robust for past 3years; time to get some energy beneath my 6 month old 1055T; wasn't dissapointed, going from 1066 4gb ram ddr2; to 8gb ddr3 1600; with sata III boot drive; items on my new workstation is now flying. Because i've upgraded primaryly for video encoding; bang for buck and energy is usually welcomed. Gigabyte is top rated of the line, and the only boards i use considering that 2006. For the new builders, welcome; use gigabyte can't go wrong, do alot of research, and often extend the warranty if your concerned; newegg never ever fail ya. after some "shaking" begins with two 880 chipset mobos; video slot prob on atx; and cpu fan header doa on matx flavor; this new board, installed and fired up with no any hiccups, i was begining to worry, but not on newegg, always superior on rma; just the tech; on boards. As an seasoned method builder; i In no way, jump on new tech till it proves itself, waiting only allows the "bugs" to get fixed and price to get affordable. certain i have no bragging rights but its all new to me. If you want complete atx board, with easy and direct solutions this one particular will do it. running two year old "brick" video, but not pushing something with WoW, or sims2; HD 4850 btw. new vid? possibly when 58-6800's drops down some. can't justify a single appropriate now. Immediately after video issue with a reduced board; RMA'd a version two.2 board; soon after an unusally lengthy rma process; more than a week later; recieved to my surprise not only new mobo;but version three.1 complete with new 2011 markings.no matter if its bulldozer compatible is and has not been a concern of mine, i'll worry about that in 2013, when am3+ boards are plentiful, and cpu's are widespread spot and low-cost. Massive plus's usb three for future; sata III, transferring dataɚtb> worth at 65mb/s was averaging 45mb/s on sataII drives; massive enhance on encoding, reduce time down in half.

USB three., Socket AM3+, fairly effortless set up and great features for the price tag. Installed all elements and computer worked fine for four hours at residence. Brought to work and encountered a BSOD every five to 6 hours of use. Boots fine with no troubles as lengthy as there is only a stick of RAM in slot 1. Any other configuration causes a blue screen in Win 7. RMA this a single, rev 2.2. Hoping for a new revision, from what the evaluations indicate on this a single. Method is rock solid, so extended as I only have one particular stick of RAM in slot 1 of the board. Video card is a Gigabyte 6950HD, so I am at a 50% achievement with Gigabyte on this sytem. Does what I will need it to, has sata iii, steady. Once all of the drivers are installed it is a excellent board, I have had no difficulties soon after I worked out the initial driver concerns the 1st couple of days I had it. The bios also tends to make it extremely straightforward to overclock if that's your point (not anything I would do, but it is cool to know that I can if I want to). bios requires a even though to load ྱ seconds nearly as lengthy as my OS), which slows my general boot up time. some of the drivers have to be downloaded on-line, which includes the ethernet driver (which if you want the ethernet to go on the web may result in an concern). Overall these are seriously minor troubles, and not truly sufficient to knock off an egg. I have actually enjoyed making use of this motherboard with a critical ssd, now I don't go crazy when the machine reboots for an update, the total boot time (bios startup + os startup=about 40 seconds).

Every thing is clearly marked, installation was a breeze. Great board at a great cost. Not so considerably a con, but the onboard gpu is useless if you're going to obtain a decent video card. You can only use hybrid crossfirex with old 3xxx cards, which is not created clear, even in the manual. Initially board was clearly previously utilized (missing stickers, a bunch of case screws shipped with it for some purpose), and was DOA. RMA process was fast and painless, on the other hand, and the second board fired up without having any difficulties. Good layout. Effortlessly configured BIOS. Versatile implementation. Usually fantastic Gigabyte overclocking capabilities. The mixture PS2 port. Whatever possessed Gigabyte to inexpensive out by placing a single PS2 port half colored purple and half colored green for EITHER a keyboard or mouse alternatively of 1 of every escapes me completely. It's not a problem if you aren't utilizing a KVM switch setup for many computers. I tried two unique PS2 splitters that didn't work. I tied six diverse USB to PS2 adapters ahead of I identified one that would even function with the KVM setup. When I finally got it to operate, I had to forgo center button functions on the mouse. None of those would work. Only the standard left / proper button functions would operate. As considerably as I like the motherboard, I'll under no circumstances make the mistake of purchasing a Gigabyte motherboard with a combo PS2 port once again. To Gigabyte: You have taken a ridiculous deal killing (for me) step to save what has to be a couple of pennies. I don't get it. And no, I don't want to disassemble my entire laptop and return it thereby losing my OEM Windows computer software license and possessing to invest more than a hundred dollars for yet another license.

While not a cutting edge gaming board or anything, I wanted a board for average to slightly-higher demand applications (I do considerable video editing) and I wanted to err on the side of greater efficiency rather than lower. So far I'm quite pleased with my choice. Following some confusion about the eight-pin ATX 12v power connector the set up was quite smooth and with a Phenom II x4 955 I have to ridiculously multitask (PDF's, numerous browser pages, streaming video, many Workplace applications) just before I notice it slowing down a tiny. As talked about above, I had confusion about the eight-pin ATX 12v power socket - my PSU only has 4-pin and a 6-pin connectors. A source online mentioned that it was okay to plug the six-pin into one particular finish of the eight-pin socket. It match, but the board would not energy up. I attempted it with the 4-pin (it match on one end of the connector as well) and it powered up fine. Functions great. Far more or less I have to take away an egg and blame the manual for being like most MB manuals in that it is written in mediocre English and omits an occasional essential detail like that.A person mentioned the sideways-pointing placement of the SATA ports on the board. My case allows me to access the board in various hassle-free strategies such as taking the tray that it's mounted on out of the case - I had no problem attaching the SATA cables, but I can see exactly where this inexplicable style could be an inconvenience. On the back of the case the two USB 3. jacks can be distinguished from the standard USB 2. jacks by their blue colour. On the mainboard there are four USB headers and 3 of them are blue - why? A different detail missed in the manual. A single could assume that, as on the back, the blue ones are three., but the manual says they are all 2.. I believe they are all 2. but I haven't checked and I'm not using them all so I almost certainly won't verify. I have 2 jacks and I hooked them up to the header that's NOT blue, to make certain that I had 2. (for greater compatibility).

This motherboard replaces my 2005 Epox 9NDA3+뭃 4400x2. Old motherboard refused to post after 5 years. So,since 939 parts are commonly history, I necessary to update the motherboard and wanted to reuse as numerous parts as attainable. I constructed a great machine with Gigabyte MA770TUDP3 / AMD955 final year, but I required to reuse additional legacy components for this a single. So, I went for this Gigabyte board instead due to the fact of the maximum of PCI slots and legacy connections, along with PCIe and SATA for future upgrades. Build was effortless, worked the very first time (except for my challenges migrating windows). It has now been running 5 weeks 24ǝ with no important incidents. Only running at stock speeds. Employing the internal video. So far it has acceptable functionality, but no gaming is involved. This board only has one particular IDE connection, I needed a Rosewill controller card for a second PATA port. The SATA plugs are not vertical, so the cable routing is a little tight. Had to bend the cables in advance prior to installing them. Match OK in my ANTEC Sonata case.Other Con, this is not connected to the board, but to the Windows install:I wanted to move the RAID (mirror) challenging drives devoid of reinstalling Windows (and all applications) from scratch. Most places will tell you this is impossible or foolish, so I can't recommend it; but I can say that I was in a position to do it successfully. This meant moving from NVIDIA RAID to an AMD RAID controller. (I was in a position to back up my information to a drive in my other laptop 1st) Windows only lets you install the SATA/RAID DRIVER from an F6 prompt on initial set up. So, you can set up the drives on the new board, set the RAID array, but they won't boot. If you can't boot, you can't update the driver to the proper 1... (see other thoughts) The option to moving the drives was a freeware tool, UBCD4WIN. It creates an emergency boot CD from your windows CD files that permits access to the hard drives with the right RAID driver. It also has a utility that will update the mass storage drivers to the hard drive. Then I located other tips on how to delete the old motherboard devices in secure mode just before booting into windows normally and redetecting hardware. I had to use the AMD RAID manager to resynchronize the drives to make the RAID function properly.New components:G.Talent 4Gb ƒx2Gb) DDR3 F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQAMD X4 965 Black Edition 125WGiGabyte GA-880GA-UD3H AMD AM3Rosewill RC-216 PCI Express eSATA II x two / ATA 133 x1 Controller Card reused:ƒ) Maxtor SATA 250Gb really hard drive (mirror RAID)Seagate PATA 250Gb tough driveNEC DVD Burner ND-3520ASamsung TS-H352a DVDDIAMOND SM56PCILE Modem Netgear PA301 cardSIIG SCSI PCI card Koutech IO-RCM620 USB Card ReaderThermaltake 500W PurepowerWindows XP

Gigabyte tends to make some of the best mobo's accessible - easiest to set up and navigate the bios, core unlocking, overclocking, ease of RAID setup (if you can read the instructions) even if you need tech help on it they inform you exactly how to do it (if you actually do it). ! guy even typed it out right here just as they stated, though he didn't comprehend it. The CONS come in the truth that I study thousands of these evaluations Ɣ the laughs they bring), and 1 thing stands out most of all - The "TECH Know-how" (self)rating! Unless you are in fact designing boards or at minimum hold a Personal computer Science Degree in some field, you shouldn't even assume of checking in at "HIGH" unless u r. Appears these guys have all the difficulties and under no circumstances quit to listen to any1! Half probably don't even verify the clr cmos jumper setting or just reverse it to see if the guide is misprinted? But I should admit without these superstars of the newegg reviews we would have small to laugh at, I also will say that there maybe some guys out there who infact even without a degree have spent the time to acquire the expertise on several elements of computer system hardware by means of the endless hours of investigation and open minded conversation with other educated people here online in other endless forums the internet delivers, but these folks know what it takes to consider themselves as Higher and probably don't even contemplate them as 1. Any1 can get components & plug them together, figure out why its not operating is exactly where the fun is, make it work! don't just cry about it.
