There was also a challenge with the sound fluctuating up and down when playing mp3's. I attempted for hours to come up with a option for this but gave up on it and chaulked it up to onboard sound on the other hand months later I flashed the bios and updated system drivers and the second sound issue went away. I guess firmware and drivers matured.?. Either way I was content sufficient with the board I was keeping it anyway. Who expects onboard sound to be as good as soundstorm was anyhow? Not really as well much of a con... other people have pointed out the northbridge passive heat sink becoming loose so I checked mine and it was fine but searching at the springs I can see how it may well be an issue.
