USB Energy Charge featureAffordableAM3 and DDR3 assistanceIve had very good luck with Gigabyte goods in the past and rely on their reliability in most of the computers I create for my clients. The pc that I built about this board ran steady and silent with no hiccups except for the challenge noted below. Following delivering the personal computer constructed with this board to my buyer, I got a get in touch with a week later stating that the personal computer would not turn on. I was in a position to duplicate the situation. And replaced the power supply initial and it worked once more for one more week, then the very same problem occurred once again. I tried changing each energy setting in the bios and in win7 but nevertheless have the very same situation. I have currently bought a replacement and have submitted an RMA to Gigabyte. Hopefully the new board will not have the exact same problem.

Onboard video, simple to build, lots of connectors, runs Adobie Premiere CS5 with ondboard radeon! Precise explanation why i bought this. -want it had 2 far more ddr3 slots, but oh wells. My very first complete make of a Pc. Generally upgraded components but this time wanted to try the entire factor. Was soo effortless with this mobo. Was up and running inside an hour, but now that I know what to do, most likely be even faster.Got this mobo bring about of onboard video. Operates flawlessly for HD movies, netflix, youtube, divx, anything i've thrown at it. Haven't gamed at all, but most complicated was was premiere CS5.Videos ran smooth, editing was a breeze. Was editing full 1080p 30fps files from my T2i, and under no circumstances ran a hiccup. Conversion was swift and smooth.

Uncomplicated set up. 1333 RAM recognized correct away, great BIOS and O/C capability and tools. (Not making use of on board video, but it comes w/ HDMI connection.) Running fine on Win 7 Ultimate x64. None. It's a MicroATX board, so count on 2 RAM slots, 2 PCI, a PCIe x1, and a PCIe two. x16 slot all close to each other. My 3rd celebration video card ends up covering a PCI slot and SATA ports 2 & 3, so I'm only in a position to use 1 PCI and SATA and 1. Not a 'Con', just a consideration. (Bigger boards usally have the same quantity of stuff blocked by large video cards, there's just far more stuff you can end up working with.)

Worked correct away with ESXi 4.1. I like the layout of the board. Took me all of 1ǘ hour from unboxing to boot up. Built with the components listed in "Other thoughts". Operating many VM's nicely Could not boot ESXi from usb drive, but that was not crucial. I believe there are workarounds for this. I've got my eight gigs of ddr3, AMD Phenom iix4 965be, Radeon 6850 GPU simple installed and operating excellent. Good instruction manual incredibly comprehensive and concise none Wish it had greater RAM capabilities. The ram i bought can run 1600, but this mobo only supports 1333. And when i installed my GPU it covered up access to one particular of my SATA ports but i expected that as this is a micro ATX

Moving up from an AM2 board, from DDR2 to DDR3. The speed raise was noticeable and unbelievable, even although I only moved from an Athlon 64 X2 2.9 GHz to an Athlon II X3 three.two GHz. Granted, upgrading the motherboard normally entails upgrading CPU and RAM also, so it isn't just the motherboard that's improving the speed of the technique. Strange arrangement of SATA ports. Two are covered up by my GTX 275, but I'm upgrading to a 550 Ti soon, and it's a shorter card, so that problem ought to be solved. I have 1600 MHz RAM installed, and I can't get the system to clock it past 1333 MHz. Most likely my CPU FSB holding it back; I'll need to have to examine my clock settings or acquire a various CPU. Not disappointed by any means. A excellent budget board for a very good spending budget gaming technique. Add a video card so you don't have to share memory, and you can have a beast.

My second gigabyte mb develop and I don't consider I am going to use something else. Top quality board, wonderful bios. Unlocked the 4th core on my AMD triple core processor. Good onboard graphics.Alot of bang for you buck with this board.Got it with rebate. We'll see if I get it. The only issue I didn't like about this board is that it has digital audio but no optical or coax out built in. You have to get an adapter that is like 15 bucks (and it is challenging to locate, even from gigabyte). My other gigabyte board had an optical out. Not a massive deal though. I knew it going in, just wish they could've place it on the board to save me the hassle/cost. Excellent board, very satisfied. Like I mentioned earlier, very easily unlocked the 4th core on my AMD proc. For the price you actually get alot in this board.

Effortless to setup as an upgrade. Solid program for an everyday workhorse computer EasyTune 6 does not work with win7, can't o/c chips quite easily. Doesn't like to be o/c. Tried to o/c amd B55; bios and computer software can't release added processors (I got quad core on msi mobo accelerated to 4GHz). Will not assistance simple o/c from three.2 -ɯ.6GHz. On the plus side, after the blue screen, mobo did reset to fundamental settings with out a hitch. Solid mobo for a standard setup, not going to win any races, but excellent for modernizing an older program.

Anything installed just as it must, every little thing functions. My first assessment just beneath stated the pc2 connector did not recognize my keyboard. That was incorrect as it turned out my backup keyboard is defective. Got new keyboard and all is working as it really should. Like too numerous/all? motherboard manuals--there is a wonderful warning to install front panel connectors "correctly" but they give no clue at all as to the color coding on the wires so that you CAN connect properly. On this board, I discovered all the labels on the connectors faced the bottom of the board, or that a little triangle on the connector ID'd the power/positive line, or that black/white was the negative lead. My complaint about the non typical Micro ATX dimensions is valid. I'm thinking this is possibly not a major deal for most folks who can support the board when they install their peripherals and seldom go into the case following that. Thats not my history though BUT it would have been so effortless to Style a few holes close to the right edge into this board and give a few plastic poke thru stand offs. I will also fault case builders that don't present sufficient space in the leading to mount regular fans. What does a quarter inch of sheet metal price?STANDARDS are supposed to be STANDARDS!

Excellent board for a spending budget construct! Oustanding efficiency from the on board ATI Radeon HD 4250. Easily overclockable. none. Wish it came with mounting hardware and washers, but no biggie, just reused my old screws. 1st time making use of the rear I/O shield and didn't know you weren't supposed to bend the tabs in. Just set it into the rear and the tabs will present help for the board with a little work aligning the mounting holes.

Rapidly install, excellent layout, decent price, good cpu support, excellent overclocking possibilities Chipset heatsinks a little dinky, few sata ports, only two ram slots, pci express 1x slot is poorly placed This board was truly easy to install. The board is quite well laid out, for the most portion, and doesn't result in the usual cable mess. It took about five min to get it all connected and in the case, which includes cpu installation.

Offers adequate platform for a mid-level gaming machine. I paired this with an AMD Athlon II X4 640, and 8G of DDR3 4G 1333MHz Corsair RAM. The onboard video is sufficient at operating World of Warcraft at lower graphic standards with a solid frame rate of 41fps. On the other hand,I plan to upgrade the GPU as soon as I have the cash to do so. In that case, the PCI 2X will provide all the expansion requirements I will have. This is a basic board and you will be working with it for a precise purpose. That stated, when I installed my Radeon X1900 GPU into the PCI 2X all other PCI slots were not accessible. If you are running a lot of addons, then you will want to take into account a larger board. This board replaced a far superior board that I bought in ག. Nevertheless, I only utilised 45% of that boards capabilities. The plan was to grow with that board. four years later, that board is obsolete and is no longer in production. This time, I purchased the fundamentals that exceeds my game's fundamental specifications and spent far much less. I purchased Gigabyte because of the outstanding critiques here on Newegg.

Directions on assembly and installation are excellent. Be positive and put the processor on *before* you put the mobo in location simply because otherwise it may be challenging to connect the heatsink. That's not genuinely in the directions. Dead on arrival, somewhat. The rear sound port (standard) doesn't create any sound. :( Hopefully the subsequent 1 will be greater. I couldn't uncover in the manual clear instructions on how to enable the other cores. Also, the BIOS defaults to IDE mode for the SATA and wants to be changed to ASDI (I believe that's the correct letters LOL) *before* you boot up to install on a bare new drive. Lastly, the easy bios config utility doesn't perform on Windows 7.Gave it 1 egg for being DOA. But I genuinely hope the replacement works out. DOA takes place yes, but when it does it requirements to bring down the product rating a bit. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,Thank you for your comments. Gigabyte good quality. The on board video is fantastic for regular web surfing, work, watching videos, light online games, etc. I didn't attempt it with something additional taxing as I just don't. I had it hooked up to my 42" Sharp LED WS HDTV by way of a ū HDMI cable. With You tube full screened on 1080P it looked wonderful and streamed it with no problem whatsoever looked just as good if not greater than the HDTV service from AT&T Uverse. It rated a 4.1 on the Windows 7 rating scale which is appropriate about mid range.I tested it successfully with Windows XP 64 bit & 7 64 bit, runs nicely on each immediately after loading the motherboard drivers from the disk soon after the initial installation. I didn't try any overclocking. It also ran nicely with Linux Mint 10.10 64 bit & Linux Ubuntu 10.10 64 Bit. RAM auto posted at 1066 Mhz had to manually set it for 1333 Mhz in the bios but it was fast, simple and painless.I tested it with Linux Mint Debian 201012 64 bit and couldn't even get it to boot to the live DVD never ever mind install so its possibly not compatible. The same DVD worked fine with my laptop and other desktop so absolutely nothing wrong there. Bought this for a budget build for my mom, just needing fundamental video, e-mail, facebook, and so on. nothing stressful. The Brand B board that I originally ordered failed miserably arriving DOA so I spent the additional ฤ and went with this.I paired it up with an AMD Athlon II x 2 240 2.8 Ghz processor, 1 x four Gig Gskill Ripjaws @ 1333, Diablotek 400w PS, Samsung 320Gig, SATA II 7200 HD, ASUS DVD Burner, XClio Godspeed 2 Advanced Case.I tested it with numerous OS' before finally leaving it with Linux Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit as my mom is a malware/virus/trojan magnet when she is running Windows. Every thing runs fine, its smooth and rapidly and set it up to go to sleep if she leaves it on, wakes up nicely with a fast push on the power switch. It does what I want it to do.

I bought this for a family pc/htpc budget pc build and that HDMI port adds a nice touch. So far running great with an AMD dual core 250 cpu. The manual should have more clear instructions though for beginners.

Although this lacks USB-3 ports I'm pleased with this build for a customer. I built a ton of systems using the Gigabye-S2H DDR2 Series boards and this board is perfectly the same...just DDR3. I suppose this will be my new budget-mid level gamer build board for customers in the DDR3-AMD builds.
