layout, setup 2nd board same as 1st bad ram slots......slots 1 and 3 post fine...two and four do not! Extremely Disappointed.....now gotta spend much more dollars sending it back for refund! not chancing a 3rd rma!!!!!! Its gotta be something with 880GM series mobos. Great feature set for the price tag point, assistance for X6. It didn't function. Bought this as portion of a combo deal from a local retailer so the price was fantastic, but when I assembled the method it would not post. Following trying a couple instances, it posted but the video output was garbled. Green lines, messed up text, and so forth. It would not stay on for more than about 30sec ahead of shutting off. After poking about, I discovered the northbridge heatsink to be very loose. Took it off, removed the stock thermal paste, added new thermal paste, shimmed the plastic pegs with paper washers to add additional pressure, but to no avail. Nonetheless the very same symptoms. When I took it back to swap out for yet another board, I was informed they only had two far more in stock and each had currently been returned at least once ahead of. Surely not a good sign. In my opinion, there is a thing wrong with the speak to between the northbridge/IGP and its heatsink. It might be poor casting of the heatsink or improper spring tension on the retention pegs, but anything is absolutely wrong. If you obtain 1 of these when you first take it out of the box, I'd advocate seeing if the heatsink is loose prior to powering it on. Definitely a disappointment due to the fact the co-worker I was constructing the method for had to settle for an i3 rather then the PII X4 this board was paired with. Purchased it mainly because my Asus deep6'd itself (may have gone a little too overboard on the OC).Thankfully my Phenom II X3 720BE survived. Got that up to 3.4GHz with no challenges. So simple, I most likely could've accomplished it sleeping. Not for those seeking to ultimately get into CrossfireX setups (obviously)Does not have SATA6 or USB3, but neither do I, so I don't care. The way I see it, this will hold me more than a different generation or two. By then, SATA6 and USB3 devices will actually be drastically closer to speed and be inexpensive sufficient to make the switch justifiable. But hey, at least I can throw in three a lot more cores till then :) |

Great small motherboard. Searched for hours and hours to attempt and come across the best mATX board for my HTPC and settled on this one. Setup was a breeze, layout is great. I'm not working with a video card, just the onboard 4250. None. Fanless style, initially Gigabyte in about 7 years and I'm not disappointed. I've been a fan of ASUS forever, but this point just beats the snot out of any mATX they provide. Could be a con, but I had to manually set my memory timing. Defaulted to 9-9-9-24. Solidly built, Nice layout, four memory slots. Not genuinely a con, but the on-board video, whilst very good enough for dvds and blu ray, isn't very excellent enough for streaming motion pictures with no stutter. This is the 2nd Gigabyte motherboard I have used and have not had a dilemma. I used Corsair XMS3 DDR 3 1333 2X4GB on this board with no issues. The board has a good layout. I utilised this for my HTPC make. It was in a position to unlock the other two cores on my processor. I thought the on board video HD 4250 would be fine for streaming movies, but in my case it wasn't. I went ahead and installed a HD 5570 graphics card and it solved all my concerns. All in all, a good motherboard for the dollars. |

All the attributes you actually will need for a motherboard supporting Athlon II processors, a decent quantity of ram and a decent number of On-Board characteristics... The Chipset Heat Sink in the center of the board was incredibly weak. barely touched it and it came loose. After pressing back down on it and running the method for about an hour and a half the heat sink seemed to have reattached itself. I really hope that Gigabyte isn't headed down that path of making low-cost boards once more, and hopefully it was just do to accident in the course of the assembly procedure. General this is a great motherboard. I would undoubtedly propose it, just be careful with that heat sink... |

Great, solid board. create was as smooth as i could ever hope for. dropped in a x6 1090t and it recognized it promptly. yes, ii realize this is a micro atx board. even so, the layout is such that the sata connectors are appropriate in line with the video card slot. with my 6870, i only have one available sata port - and even that one is touching the video card. just for reference, i have the XFX HD-687A-ZNFC Radeon HD 6870. this would be a great board for a htpc...AM3, 4 ram slots, on-board video. |

it's gigabyte and performs. has the capabilities i require. the set up was effortless both as hardware and then the computer software. none finding a m/b with the characteristics i wanted was a bit frustrating. "A" had some "B" had some, and so on but this m/b came closest to my best. i have applied nothing but gigabyte now for several years and 6 or a lot more builds and constantly been satisfied with them. |

When I initial installed Win7 pro 64 bit on it, it wouldn't boot into Windows. I checked the boot order and it was attempting to boot on the USB. I don't know if it's mainly because I had a USB stick in it but it was an effortless repair so I won't take an egg off. This was my first AMD make ever and it was easy. Final time I constructed a computer system, it was LGA 775 and that socket was horrendous with the plastic pins. The AM3 socket was so straightforward to set up, I had to double check just simply because I thought it was also easy!!Final couple motherboards I've gone with had been Foxconn and they lasted about a year every. I'm hoping given that I went with Gigabyte, it will final longer.Employed to like Intel but immediately after this create, it's AMD all the way! |

It's a snap to set up. Easily unlocked my 550BE. Pain free of charge bios updating in windows via their @bios program. Bios is user friendly and packed with advanced functions. USB three., 6Gb SATA, eSATA, HDMI, and 1394 connections. Rock solid Realtek audio and NIC. Decent placement of onboard slots and ports. NONE This is a wonderful board for the price. Nicely worth the additional income over the standard โ-์ boards. Excellent and capabilities that you'll appreciate now and in the future. |

Great layout, effortless to install. Unlock my Phenom II x2 560 to 4 cores. Keep in mind to set the EC Firmware in M.I.T to Hybrid, otherwise it won't unlock additional cores. Solid material. The width of the board is 9.six" which is kind of big for a mATX. Beware!! Easy to adjust clock and voltage. Runs well with two diverse brand of ram installed on it. Two Avexir and two Patriot. Make sure that the power supply is 450W or above, otherwise it won't turn on. |

four ram slots Bios has a prompt that makes it possible for you to set SATA devices to run at SATA speed rather than IDE speed. Not confident what this is known as, but when I activated it, I could not boot or install windows. I had to turn this off in order for my program to run.I could probably repair this myself but I don't care adequate to place in the time Had to manually modify the timing for my ram. No big deal. |

- Rev 1.three seems fine soon after 3 weeks - Rev 1. doesn't work- Very unstable- Consumer service is a joke, totally useless Purchased this board as a combo from a nearby retailer, then got the rest of the parts from NewEgg. Wouldn't post, then would start off but freeze randomly, run for a few days and crash yet again, won't power up, and on and on.Return period had run out, so I went back prime the store and bought same model (but Rev 1.three) and with all the very same parts it performs perfectly. Sent the original back to Gigabyte and they have informed me their "engineers" have tested it and absolutely nothing is wrong.What a joke, I will never get Gigabyte yet again and recommend you verify for Rev 1.three before accepting shipment or operating out of return period. Can't appear to correct my earlier assessment of the board on twoቦ. So this is a correction (to be fair to Gigabyte) and some additional comments to the prior review. Low value, decent HDMI output, BIOS seems to offer you complete CPU and RAM O/C choices (I have F8 version but haven't tried to overclock myself). Two on-board situation fan controls are great. 5 SATA ports are a lot. Got as a CPU/Mobo combo for ุ! No angle plugs could be applied for SATA ports, two IDE headers are overkill (who still use IDE devices?), RAM compatibility list from web page is useless (most model on the list are obsolete, I took the risk on the Kingston HyperX RAMs), ATI 4250 HDMI is beneficial but weak (scored 4.three on my Win Exp. Index), could not produce a complete screen on a 40" HDTV. No USB 3., effectively it's a compromise for the low $$$ so won't expense any egg. I often like Gigabyte board but this bug annoys me. The board is working fine but won't boot from USb flash drive. I wanted to run VMware ESXi on USB then use an onboard SATA drive for storage. won' boot from USB stick. Gigabyre assistance ? forget about it. They are conscious of the issues for positive but no fix so far. It appears Gigabyte dont care about this difficulty I guess simply because few end users boot from USB stick I am thinking about replacing this gigabyte board with an Asus board. |

Incredibly fantastic motherboard. It absolutely does what its job. Having complications finding front panel audio to perform. Will not deduct an egg for that. Can't fully grasp why people are obtaining complications with this motherboard. Are people finding bad boards or what. But for me, so far, so very good. |
Received as advertised. Most current version BIOS (F8), and board Rev. 1.four. Good layout. Every thing clearly labeled. Northbridge heat sink loose. Show goes out following from five minutes to 30 minutes. Attempted cleaning/re-Arctic'ing the heatsink - similar problem. Extremely poor design.
