Works quite properly if you are not employing RAID. I set up RAID 1 on three of these boards. The setup is effortless and Window7 recognizes the onboard RAID, and no manual driver loading is necessary. The RAID functions great for a month or two and then reports that 1 of the hard drives had failed. This has happened on all three computers numerous occasions. Each and every time diagnostic testing revealed that the drives have been sound and functional. I switched to WD Enterprise drives, which are certified for RAID and got the similar result. I finally have reconfigured two of the computers to traditional a single drive systems. Probably Gigabyte has come up with a fix on an updated Bios. Probably Gigabyte will let me know. I have an additional Gigabyte board of a small older vintage with the similar onboard Intel RAID and it has perform flawlessly for more than a year. A short-term fix is to set the "failed" drive to non-RAID and then do a rebuild, but you have to face the same challenge again in a month or two. Help is poor as you have to e mail someone in China and they make you go by way of all the fundamentals initial, even though you informed initally what you have performed and checked. |

I have had this board hitched to my Q9650 for around 2 years or so. It has so considerably worth for the $$$, that it is impossible to praise it too extremely. My personal computer runs quite a lot 24ǝ뤅. I cannot kill it...it will reside forever.Just purchase it! Yeah, you get the occasional DOA, but that happens with any electronics. This is a good board. Only 4 SATA slots. I have OCd insanely on this board. I have it maxed out at each and every slot. I has an X1 for more internal storage. It runs with an HT Omega sound card and an EVGA 275GTX. Unless you are a full klutz, you cannot kill this issue. I want to go six-core, but I can not justify the new setup till I kill this board...but, it will by no means die! |

Nice modest size, affordable, supports wide range of CPU's, Very good documentation. Best upgrade for aging WinXP system, none Wonderful to give the kids a Pc that doesn't take forever to boot and load like the old P4 it replaced that maxed at 512 Ram |

The simplicity and mildly dynamic capabilities of this board (to a specific extent) are wonderful, specifically for the price.In this case, I'd say you're getting even a lot more than what you pay for.I have upgraded my personal computer 3 times, with two DVD Drives, much better RAM and 512MB Graphics (Biostar Radeon HD4670), and they work incredibly effectively with my Core 2 Duo. I've by no means overclocked so I don't know the extent you can push it, but I hear it's decent. N/A If you want a great starter Computer for a newbie, and so forth., this is 1 of the greatest Motherboards you could opt for for it. Purchased this board for a media Pc that had a dead Dell board in it - works completely. Almost everything is clearly labeled, and is of strong building. Lots of SATA inputs and it also delivers PCI-E! Only two RAM slots and the system energy fan isn't in an best place. |

It functions! Mounted with a three ghz Pentium D processor and 2 G's of RAM I have plenty of options for upgrading in the future. Installation went nicely for hardware and software. None, as of now.... I was looking for a board that would not break my bank and make a solid foundation for a technique I planned to construct. I did my study. Onboard video. LPT and Serial ports. Lots of USB. Outstanding overall performance with E8400. One IDE and FDD every single. 4 SATA. No RAID Southbridge. Northbridge runs quite hot. Will not energy up with numerous Corsair Dominator, XMS installed. Likes low-cost 512mb sticks and G.Talent 1.8v 4-4-four-12 memory just fine. KZG electrolytic caps. Atheros LAN hardware. Gigabyte is apparently creating a chronic memory issue across its product lines with memory, specifically DDR3.This board is valuable for enterprise class workstations. This is the 2nd board I've placed with a consumer.Memory errors beep working with corrupted BIOS codes. Odd. |

-Economical-Win 7 supported-Dual Channel RAM-Properly Labeled -Manual is as well short-Manual explains absolutely nothing about drivers except to set up them I bought this motherboard to replace a board by another manufacturer which had been discontinued. In Windows 7 this is supposed to be a seemless method. In some circumstances it is. For me, I only got BSOD errors saying the difficult drive could not be accessed soon after about ten seconds into the boot course of action. I study up on this and identified out the old controller drivers could bring about the problem. I spent about five hours doing Windows Repair console procedures and offline Registry edits to no avail. I even put the HD into yet another computer and low and behold it just booted appropriate up and found the driver (like it ought to). I almost gave up but we tried one particular final factor. Acronis imaging with dissimilar hardware restore. Basically this wipes out all the non-typical drivers and forces windows to consider its a new method install. LGA 775, affordable and effortless construct, not the best of the line but had almost everything necessary for my wife's parents! I had an E6600 still in the box (not opened). I'm a Gigabyte fanboy, let's just get that out of the way.With that stated, this is a wonderful board. Had an further dualcore Celeron laying around and needed a affordable board for it. Slapped it in, put in a handful of TB hdds, half a gig of ram and an old PSU and it fired up suitable away. It's wonderful for a household server. Low power, speedy, and low heat. 2 RAM slots. But then once again, if I'm gonna throw a lot more than 4 gigs of ram in a program, it could as well be my ATX build(also Gigabit/Intel).My box didn't have a powered by Gigabyte sticker in it. :(Yes, I actually am disappointed in it. No the other 3 boards I have that did come with stickers won't make up for it. Ha. It's a excellent Micro ATX. As far as overclocking goes, I just for exciting booted Win7 on it and overclocked the E1500 in it to 3.0Ghz. Steady, Quick, Cold.Hells Yes.
