Looks quite. Will not post, fans energy on for a couple of seconds then energy down, repeats. No response from tech support but. Appears to be a typical problem with this motherboard. I purchased this as a shell shocker deal ten months ago, and finally got about to ordering a core i3 and memory for it. Very disappointed with Gigabyte, very first time I employed their solutions and probably the last. For that matter, 1st time creating a intel platform, and also in all probability my last. Feature-rich; straightforward to set up important drivers from disc or net site; easy to flash BIOS by way of Windows...manufacturer leads me to think board is of significantly higher excellent than most (with 2oz copper PCB, Japanese solid caps, dual BIOS, etc.- see Gigabyte's internet website for board-certain details). I, like A lot of other individuals, got stuck in a perpetual energy-cycle mode; just about any time I'd attempt to wake the laptop from sleep (S3), it would go into quick ƕ seconds?) energy cycling loops, but I could cleanly boot the OS right after powering down through the PSU switch (sometimes I had to cut power many times). I disconnected USB peripherals, updated to latest BIOS (v. F9), checked/updated drivers, etc. Soon after hours of troubleshooting, it turned out that the board had a distaste for my trusty ol' wireless PCI card, the EDIMAX EW-7128G. I employed the drivers from Edimax's web internet site and the ones encouraged by Windows (these have been "RT61 turbo" drivers in both situations, if I recall). I did not, nevertheless, try the drivers supplied straight by RaLink ["PCI/mPCI/CB (RT256x/RT266x)" from http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php]...I might give these a try later. I slapped in my Encore ENUWI-G2 wireless USB adapter, and my power-cycling/wake-from-sleep challenges are GONE! [Encore uses Realtek RTL8187B, per Win7] It would seem the BIOS ACPI is unique about wireless chips, but I may well be mistaken...soon after 20 years of in depth IT practical experience, up to and such as 100+ computer builds, I've only discovered that I'll never ever know it all, and that every encounter like this just adds to my private knowledgebase. In any event, by changing wireless cards I eliminated my energy-cycling/wake-from-sleep problems. I certain hope this helps somebody out there!Out of habit (distrust?), I installed the drivers only without having any other Gigabyte-offered applications (except "@BIOS" for uncomplicated BIOS flashing via Windows).I'm not interested in taking the time to get correct specs/model numbers collectively, but if it somehow assists anyone, this make is formulated with:Cooler Master Elite 341620W Antec NEO ECOIntel Core i3 540 500GB WD Caviar Blue SATA 3. hdd 4GB ƒ x 2GB) A-Information DDR3 PC3 16000 PNY GeForce GT 240, 512MB DDR5 Rocketfish card reader (ű on well-liked on the internet auction website)Sony Optiarc 24x SAT

Nicely created, great set of outputs, wonderful BIOS. Only _one particular_ additional fan header in addition to the CPU fan header. It also nevertheless has IDE connectors. I would have gladly taken more fan headers more than legacy help for stuff hardly any person makes use of any longer.

Good product. great delivery. Working nicely Purchased this as aspect of a Newegg bundle with processor. Should have been significantly clearer that the processor bundled with the motherboard would not allow me to access the graphics ports on the motherboard unless I bought a different processor with GPU. I have to admit, simply because this was a bundle, I did not spec this with my typical diligence (mea culpa) but, come on, there's a lot of folks on here either short of time, or creating a Computer for the first time that type of assume that Newegg has performed some operate for you when they bundle. Buyer Beware: Always approach a bundle deal like you do person components and assume the bundle has been assembled by a sales intern with a sociology degree. :-)

Fired up first time, no issues. I had to go into bios settings to allow 1600 for my DDR3 memory ƒx2GB on channels 1ſ), but as soon as that was carried out almost everything is operating as described. Lots of ports. Would be good to have USB three.. Ugly splash screen but that can be disabled. No case sticker :P Paired this with an i3 550 and easily oc'd to 3.8ghz. I'm working with the onboard video on the i3 and it plays everything perfectly. I mainly use the machine for converting video, browsing the web, and streaming to my Apple Television. No games or anything like that.

Smooth performance so far. Employed with an i3 processor to do my 1st Win 7 create. Couldn't be happier at this point. Onboard video works fine. One HD audio function will not start (yellow exclamation point), don't know what it is. Sound in common operates fine. If you want to dip your toes into Win 7 just to get familiar with it, it's been a excellent board for that.

It's a mini-ATX type-aspect, which could be a pro or a con depending on your requirements. I bought this board on a Shell Shocker deal for ๖ and got one more บ off with an i3-530 bundle. It worked "right out of the box" with 2GB of the least expensive OCZ ram readily available. I wasn't capable to cease the BIOS quick adequate and decided to let it boot to Ubuntu on the hdd I utilized and it booted the very first time with no troubles. Straightforward, clean, effortless to use and almost everything works natively and devoid of effort in Ubuntu 9.ten. The Front Panel Audio jack is appropriate behind the rear IO panel. My FP Audio cable was barely lengthy enough to reach it; forutnately I don't have anything in the PCIe slot. This is a "full" size mATX board but doesn't have any screw holes in the complete size spaces. I had to find some old stick on rubber standoff's to place on either side of the energy connector. No genuinely con's, but some minor improvements would make this an even better board - side facing power and SATA. This is a good board. Seriously only 4 stars for the minor factors I pointed out above, but it deserves a far greater rating than it currently has simply because some people truly don't recognize technology (and claim that they are experts). This board calls for two things to get the most out of it - an Intel PROCESSOR that has on board video (Clarkdale or Arrandale), and plugging in the CPU four pin power.

No troubles out of the box worked excellent with all my elements. Immediately after watching WMC content via HDMI it began to have troubles. The audio and video would reduce out then come back; it will get in this loop and I have to restart it to stop. Other times it would just cease all collectively but the computer was still working. Does this by way of an Onkyo 606 receiver and straight to the Television. Place all fans to max speed turned off every single attainable service, changed manual scaling back to 100 (since it also doesn't have a Television setting for overscan). Next going to try older drivers from intel (was utilizing the most current), bios update and feasible a reload of Win7. Ordered elsewhere, which gave me Rev.1 mobo.

What a fantastic motherboard! I bought it with the DIY and works nicely with the Intel i3, i5, and i7. The computer software integrated installed all the software program and drivers rapid and with out problem. The software incorporated permits you to over clock suitable from the OS. It is presently operating at 3.20GHz and is lightning rapid… Also consists of quite a few GREEN attributes for the earth friendly tech out there. Individuals claiming a Higher Tech Knowledge but then not realizing the CPU was a quad core with no video on the motherboard... lead to the i5 750 doesn’t do that. Also if you had a negative sales practical experience or do not have the expertise please don't take it out on Gigabyte. This is a excellent DIY Package and a truly good board. If you are searching to make your personal system please do your analysis then when you get Study All of the guidelines.

Excellent layout. Supposedly has dual digital video out. This factor does not want to take windows XP. Like the prior reviewer, I have spent many hours attempting to get XP loaded on this board. Lots of BSOD, rebooting. I ultimately did get it loaded by installing XP off of a USB stick. But it's not extremely steady, programs crash all the time. I can only get 1 monitor to operate. I purchased this to run XP with dual monitors. I may well have to attempt windows 7 to see if I can get it operating. Or perhaps RMA it. Good board with a ton of capabilities for this price. Overclocks well. This board is incredibly steady and rapidly. I have employed this board in about 20 various computer builds this year, and all of the boards have been flawless. I have applied this in anything from gaming systems, workstations, and I even have it operating a couple of servers. NONE At times the evaluations on Newegg are a joke, and individuals ought to look at that numerous individuals have no concept what they are doing even if they mark there know-how as higher understanding. Certain I have had a DOA motherboard. I have under no circumstances had 1 from Gigabyte. As for a person having 2 DOA at once, you would have to be super unlucky, or one thing else is not suitable. I thought I when had 2 DOA boards but it tuns out my processor was negative. The processor worked in an older machine but the new motherboard refused to post with it installed. Intel replaced it and all worked after that. What I am actually saying is that I seriously doubt that there is this a lot of DOA boards from Gigabyte. I would wager one thing like undesirable CPU, RAM, Video card, and a lot of user error.

Fast, low-cost (especially when on sale). Overclocks my i3 530 very easily to 3.6, haven't tried larger but, but there is a lot of space left for O/C didn't operate with my OCZ ram I borrowed from a different personal computer initially, but not genuinely a con just would have been nice, it wasn't on the QVL. there are two revisions of this board on Gigabytes internet site, I have rev 1.GSkill Ripjaws kit 2x2GB operates fantastic, sold right here on NE.exact model is F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL. Was a gift from Wife to replace a failed five yr old ASUS board. Came as Combo with Intel i3 540. Had wonderful potential with included computer software and tweaking abilities. Won't accept 8 gigs of RAM. Doesn't like G-Talent Ripjaw DDR3 1600 (a NewEgg recommendation) two ƒx2GB kit) or the A-Data DDR3 1600 two ƒx2GB kit). Won't boot with RAM in slots 1ſ per guidelines or all four slots populated. Will only boot with 2 sticks in slots 1ž which is contrary to all documentations. Gigabyte Tech help (via web) can't seem to read difficulty tickets to aid resolve challenge. Several on the web tech forums also puzzled why RAM won't function in slots 1ſ, only 1ž.Yes, two RAM vendors with identical issues, we all suspect the Mobo.Just keep away from this vendor if you expect any kind of TechSupport. Would like to RMA this; but Mobo was applied to replace a failed Mobo in an on the internet system, so RMA process puts method offline for just about a month, coupled with the Win7 O&M procedure. Will not use any Gigabyte board in any future builds (average 1-3 a quarter for friends & family).

lots of functions. Board won't post. Working with board with essential 2x1GB DDR3 1333 memory and an intel core i3-530 processor. Motherboard energy is installed properly (both connectors), memory is installed in the right places, working with onboard video so no further expansion cards. Attempted to set up initially for testing with an old PATA DVD drive and 120gb PATA-133 tough drive. Using 400W verified very good energy provide as well. Board reboots every single 3-five seconds. Going to attempt an RMA on this board and see if I can get 1 that works. If I get a different DOA, I don't think I will be obtaining one more gigabyte board in the near future. I purchased this motherboard as aspect of a combo kit. Just got it up and operating with Vista 64bit OS, and wow I am fully satisfied with this board. Running the i5 Quad Core Processor w/ 4g of RAM. Perhaps I am one particular of the lucky ones right after reading some of the reviews of this board, but no problems of yet! Micro ATX is compact and might have concerns with releasing bottom RAM lever if making use of the prime PCI Express slot. Holes on tower case do not seem to mesh with the motherboard, so use the rubber standoffs that come with the motherboard to help it if necessary. I'm not complaining one particular bit (ha,ha) about the board just letting all know what I have encountered. To all who have had bad experiences, sorry also you! Gigagbyte responded back in a timely manner when I asked them why my old OS did not operate. You require to have the most current service packs on your OS disk or a newer OS for the technique to boot up and set up. See ya!
