Cons: -No complaints

Pros: -Good placement of sata ports-Effective heatpipe design-Sufficient PCI-e and PCI ports-Stable-Easy overclocking-SB750 for unlocking cores
Comment:
This board will run both PCI-e slots in a crossfire configuration at 8x each which still has sufficient bandwidth for two 5870. 790FX chipset will offer 16x/16x but this 790X chipset is much cheaper at 8x/8x for crossfire. The components used on this board is of good quality. I was able to overclock 200mhz out of my unlocked Phenom II 550 more at the same voltage compared to my Asrock matx 790GX board. Gigabyte makes the best motherboards imo

Amazing motherboard. Lots of usb ports ensure you will always have room. On board sound card is great. If you are building a new gaming pc this mobo is great since you will not have to buy a sound card and DDR2 ram is much cheaper (There is little to no benefit of using DDR3 anyways).

Cons: None that i can think of.

Pros: Very reliable. Sturdy board. Everything is positioned in the right spot. The location of the sata ports doesn't really cause much of a problem since Gigabyte gives you alot of sata cables with straight ends on them. I haven't tried overclocking with this board yet though im tempted to now that i have liquid cooling.
Comment:
This board has everything you will ever need. It's a really good price for something that gives you so much for your money. The dual bios on the board is pretty nifty and handy if the main one fails, then the pc will use the secondary bios and won't leave you stranded. This is definately a great buy. I will definately buy another board from this manufacturer.

Cons: The only thing is the board is a little shorter than a regular ATX form factor board. There is a strange hole pattern but if you look at the board carefully you will find enough holes close to the far edge to make a sound install.

Pros: Excellent layout. All the USB/SATA ports you could ever want. BIOS is loaded with features to tweak to your liking. Audio is quite good for onboard. Documentation is above average. Accepts practically every AMD chip under the sun manufactured in the last 4 years. Once you get everything set correctly and make the BIOS happy, things run great.
Comment:
This board is not a full ATX board. I knew this going into the purchase and have no problems with it, but I do think it would be better if Gigabyte manufactured this board in a true full ATX size. Also, I thought I would hate the way the 6 main SATA connectors were positioned, but I found them to be positioned quite nicely for cable management. This is a rock solid board that should provide lots of great service with some nice options to expand in the future with the ability to support up to 16GB of RAM and the newest AM3 processors. I would not hesitate to recommend this board to anyone. It is a great board at a great price.

Great motherboard, for the price there is lots of little feature and goodies. Definitely worth the money for your system while keeping DDR2 alive.

works perfectly with an amd 955, only problem with it is that not all the screw holes align with an antec 902 case.

Cons: 2 RAM slots blocked by OCZ Vendetta IIWould have liked more fan headers

Pros: Lots of SATA and USB portseSATA slotsFirewireSupport AM3Nice build qualityGood overclockabilitySupports Crossfire (even if its at x8)
Comment:
This is a great board, it works very well. The fact that it was shorter bothered me a little bit, but its just because I would have preferred better support for the mobo, but either way it works very well.Unfortunatly 2 RAM slots are blocked by my OCZ Vendetta II, that’s not so bad since I don’t plan on removing those except if I want to add more RAM. There is all I needed in the box, including all the cables. There is plenty of ports which makes this board very versatile. I managed to overclock this board without any problems even if I had never done this before. There is enough slots to connect many cards including 2 GPUs even if adding a second one means both of them are limited to be at x8.

Cons: only support DDR2, and uses 8 pin atx plug for cpu

Pros: Gigabyte type, heavy board, great design, support AM3, BIOS is able to unlock cpu cores...many many..
Comment:
It is the best AMD motherboard I ever have. Great features, solid quality, best over-clocking ability...But little bit expensive and without onboard video chip (which is useless).if you have enough budget, buy the XT with am3 cpu with DDR3 mem that will be perfect.

Very good quality board. Threw together a system for a client, Phenom II 940, 8Gb of RAM, and a GTX 260. Very smooth build, no problems with install at all. Only quirk was the placement of the front audio connectors. Not an overly pleasant area.

Comment:

Pros: 8 sataGreat price Great overclocker
Comment:
It a little bit smaller so it doesn't fit in the right side of the motherboard tray. The motherboard have a lot of feature and it's much cheaper than high end board. It has great layout so even when crossfire, I will still have place for a sound card.

Cons: -Not many fan headers-Board is a little short

Pros: -Inexpensive-Dualbios feature-Lots of sata ports-Board is a little short
Comment:
This board is a great bang for your buck. The DualBios feature actually saved me when I lost power updating the bios. It doesn't have as many fan headers as I would like(and nothing for a fan in the rear), but comes with many sata ports which will make RAID a little easier. The board is a little shorter than most; both a blessing and a curse as it didn't match up with some standard holes on one end of the case, but made cable management a little easier with the extra space to tuck them away.

Cons: 790FX has a heat pipe to the SB heat sink, but the 790X doesn't. Oh well.No Convenient rear system fan header on board.

Pros: PriceFeaturesIt's Blue?
Comment:
Great board. Has some good overclocking tools in the BIOS. It has been able to run my Phenom II X3 720 at 3588 MHz (2800 MHz stock) stable. The chipset stays relatively cool as well (around 40C), but the southbridge tends to get fairly toasty (up to 53C).I did notice that there was no system fan header close to the I/O ports for installation of a rear exhaust fan. I had to use a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter so that I could run my rear fan. The board has two system fan headers close to the bottom right where the F_Panel connectors go, probably for a front and side fan install. One thing to note with my setup is that when using a Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer 4, it blocks the first two DDR2 slots so you can only install 2 DDR2 sticks, which is OK for my situation as I only use two.For the price, I would buy this board again.

Cons: can't support ddr3 (so ddr2 fine and cheap now)board a bit short (no problem just put in extra spacers into case)

Pros: low costcan support newest cpusnice heat pipingall the sata, ide, firewire that most people would need
Comment:
The only little thing that may be a problem for people is the board being a little short. Simple for me I just added 1 case spacer and voila all solved. Otherwise, this mobo has been awesome, no problems what so ever. Why did I go gigabyte? Because my first computer used gigabyte board and then I went asus cause i heard good things about asus boards and my board I bought that everyone was raving about was a fail. Had so many problems with asus mobos. So I came back to gigabyte and AWESOME, not one problem at all. Everything was packaged very well. And I got a ton of sata cables. Which is good for replacing old sata cables. Everything is spaced nice so that the ram doesn't block the video card or vice versa. I'm using this video card: Gigabyte Radeon HD 4890 1GB 850MHZ. Big plus that they are both gigabyte. my review is on the video card page. I did notice that this mobo gets hotter than my older one but it makes sense because its pushing faster speeds and everything. But with some good fans going it stays cool and works very well. There is some nice heat piping which helps cool the chips. It has enough pcie slots and 2 pcie x16 slots for crossfire. I think they only both work at 8x when you have 2 cards in but not sure how much different it is to other boards. I do know with the one video card i have I can play any game on max settings and it runs smooth. I suggest this board if you are not looking to spend lots of money but want something that works great.

Cons: Nothing Really...

Pros: Looks GreatHeavy and RobustAll solid capacitors out of the way of the CPU fan air stream.VERY EASY RAID SETUPSame features as more expensive ASUS boards and same Chipset.
Comment:
The ONLY bad thing I have to say about this board "My board" is the O/B LAN failed day 2. For the cost of shipping it back RMA and the hassle of taking it apart, I'm picking up a 10/100/1000 Ethernet card for it.Running a Athlon II X2 7850 Black EditionMSI 4890 OC Edition and two WD 640GB HD's in RAID 0 I'm loving it.Offers the same features as the ASUS boards 20-30 dollars more expensive.Update: flashed to new bios (very easy) and updaged to a 720 X3 Phenon II with the new bios, the advanced clock control feater is available (Control + F1) to unlock once in the bios screen. I unlocked the 4th core in my 720 and OC all cores to 3.2GHz. OK I am set for the 2010 PC games. I will be building a Gamer PC for my friend in the new year, I'm using THIS board. Cons: Annoying optimized voltage warning in bios, if u use auto voltage optimizer overclock crashes. Collar around the case led pins block some of the plug ins from getting in ie no hdd or reset switch for me

Pros: Mostly everthing u'll need is there. Bios is full of settings.
Comment:
Generally it's a fair board for the money that only has a few quirks ie, pci e slots aren't sharing with onboard vid(cause there is none) so why do they drop  to x8 when u use 2. I'de prob buy it again but this is a budget board.Ps, It runs 2 nvidia pci e cards 1 primary and 1 as dedicated PHysX only (don't confuse this with sli it is a xfire board and will only run 2 nvidia when using physx) This review was modfied by poster @ 05-16-09 05:41 PM

Cons: Sure the FSB is SLIGHTLY slower but this will not make a difference in performance!

Pros: BEST AM2+/AM3 board available!!!
Comment:
This board has got to be the best AM2+ generation board that will ever be released. It's a fantastic board in almost every metric. Only complaint would be the board is shorter than most thus requires some sold school Teflon spacers with nub cut off. Other than that it really is the best board of the DDR2 generation AMD processors. Fantastic overclocks and even more important... DECENT FIRMWARE/BIOS!!! This is a must for any board as it doesn't matter if it's decent hardware if the BIOS is poor... (Asus take heed with your crap BIOSs the last few years) This is why I've switched to Gigabytes over Asus as it seems no one in the Asus enterprise seems to be able to write BIOS code anymore...

Cons: Smaller than a regular ATX board with a few non-standard holes.RAM slots too close to CPU (aftermarket CPU heatsinks [e.g OCZ Vanquisher] can block first 1 or 2 slots)

Pros: Quality motherboardExcellent overclocking support in BIOSInexpensiveAM3/DDR2 comboQuality componentsUSB,Firewire,eSATA slots (great expandability)
Comment:
This is an AM2+/AM3 motherboard, not strictly AM3, as the description seems to indicate. I think this means a slower FSB than AM3 boards are supposed to handle (correct me if I'm wrong). The motherboard is about 2 cm narrower than a regular MB, so I mounted with a few less screws as the holes on the right side of the board (front side of comp case) didn't reach standard holes. If you make your own mounting holes, at least one of the non-standard hole on the board is much too close to the circuitry (top right of board, if I recall). Having said that, all complaints are minor and this board is major bang-for-the-buck!
