Cons: The memory layout is poor. The memory slot location make it difficult to place a CPU and heatsink where the fan is perpendicular to the board. I used this in conjuction with a HAF-932 case and the mounting holes for the CPU heatsink doesn't alight with the hole that is cut out in the PC case, if you want to install support from the back. As of this writing the gigabyte download center doesn't support this board yet.

Pros: High build quality. Has great features for the price

This is the first Gigabyte motherboard I have bought. The last 7 or 8 builds have always been Asus. So far, this is one of the easiest to get up and running with no glitches. T This review was modfied by poster @ 11-21-09 01:14 PM

Cons: Utilities

Pros: Price,Durabillaty, Features
Comment:
The motherboard installed and set up was fine. But when you try to use the SMART 6 or the onboard BIOS utility to overclock everything starts to crash (Windows 7)

Cons: Those vertical SATA ports can be a pain to install cables into

Pros: Core i7, dual-gigabit LAN that can be teamed, dual E-SATA, lots of USB ports
Comment:
I've been a long time ASUS user. In fact, all three of my systems at home and countless systems I've built at work have used ASUS motherboards. I tried one Gigabyte board in the past and wasn't too happy with its performance, but comparing their boards to ASUS, Gigabyte always seems to come out ahead with things like the number of ports, and overall features. The initial board I got was DOA so after an RMA, and a RAM change, we were off to the races. Working on Gigabyte boards is just like working on any other board, although their decision (along with other manufacturers) to mount their SATA ports vertically instead of flat on the PCB itself is a real pain. At least the case I was using had an opening right next to these ports so routing the cables was relatively painless, but with the cover on, trying to install the SATA connectors can be a problem for some.Overall, board stability seems to be good in initial tests. I haven't gotten into over-clocking the processor yet but I'm sure it's relatively straight forward. I'm still on the fence about using Gigabyte boards all the time but so far, I'm impressed.

Cons: SATA cables are a pain to get to

Pros: Good value, lots of options, just works
Comment:
The Gigabyte P55-UD4P represents a truly good value, thanks to the flexibility provided by its dual glan, sli/crossfire support and pcie slots. Most importantly the thing just works without any problems. The BIOS allows for a granular level of tweaking, but also makes it easy to do some basic stuff - for example, I got my i7 860 up to 3.5ghz by only changing 2 settings. It also supports backing up the bios to the HDD, and havng 2 BIOS' incase you need something to fallback too - nice little features (which might be common now, but weren't last time I bought a computer).

Cons: I hate the SATA connectors! It is very hard to install SATA cables with my too tight Antec 900.The chipset heat sync renders the first pci slot useless.

Pros: Plenty of features for the price : SLI, Crossfire, etc.Good inboard sound
Comment:
I'm a Gigagyte user for a long time. This Mobo was business as usual. No surprise. It as plenty of features for the price when on sale. Apart of the SATA connector and the chipset heat sync this mobo is awesome. Seems to OC well too. I really like Gigabyte support : 2 new BIOS updates in 1 week.

Cons: -SATA connections CAN be hard to get at. Most likely just my case though.

Pros: -2OZ copper PCB-Lots of space for aftermarket cooling-Bios is cleanly laid out, options are extensive-Board is well laid out, mostly.-Looks really good
Comment:
When you pull this out of the box, the first thing you notice is how heavy it is, likely due to the 2OZ copper PCB. Everything went together easily enough. Its hard to tell from the picture on here but this board looks awesome. The PCB is very blue, and anything metal is shiny blue with white stripes a Gigabyte branding. The software supplied will provide an OC of 3.2 GHz on an i5 750, if your not comfortable entering the bios. I currently have the i5 up to 4.0GHz. Highly recommended.
