This is the greatest mobo I've ever pwned. Added an i-7 950 which I've been capable to OC to 3.75ghz, have 8 drives (including a couple of SSDs), tossed an EVGA 460 GTX in with anything else, and this board has responded beautifully. OCing was easy with the application that comes with the mobo. I had no concerns with the BIOS or memory speeds as other people have reported ྫྷgb of OCZ ripjaw). My only complaint is lack of USB 2.Ǚ. ports. Certainly worth the income for any person seeking to place together a very good gaming rig.

Visually a nice hunting bored, great for new system builders requiring the USB 3. and all that fancy stuff. Can't SLI my GTX 460 to the PCIe x16 due to not getting able to attain the second slot (gtx 460 is rather massive, as are most new vid cards). Random freezes. Tried anything from a BIOS update to distinct configuration, its the same thing. Not really a bother, because i save my documents and other essential stuff constantly, but bothers me when I'm playing a game and have to restart the computer. Stay away from Gigabyte for a least a couple of years, till they knock out all of the dents in their hardware. Go for a different brand, and make confident you verify out the testimonials of anything prior to you buy a MB.

Worked decently till 6-7 months into obtain. Motherboard began failing at about six months. I had read about failures other folks have been encountering, but the praise seemed overwhelming positive. I took the plunge, and noticed some challenges initially (was not able to OC in the least, in spite of getting the specs to do so).I resigned myself to not overclocking, and I had my computer shut off 1-two occasions the first five months. I wasn't worried because I presumed this was just power related or a mishap. Now, my motherboard fails everyday if not hourly, no matter the tasks getting undertaken (tested all other components, the Mobo it is). All round, this solution is not dependable. I'm outdoors of the NewEgg warranty, but I'll possibly switch to a corporation with far better final results. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your comments. USB threeSATA threeDolby Property Theater2-PCIx16 for SLI & CrossfireBoot from somethingQflash & @BIOS Doable memory compatibility challenge with this rev 1. board (they're employing rev 2. as of this review) and i7-920 & 6GB OCZ Platinum 1333MHZ tri channel memory. Told by Gigabyte's tech assistance that I would not be able to run memory at 1333MHZ due to "conflicts with CPU clock speed" so the first year I was 1066MHZ auto timings with out troubles. Life was great so I bought a 2nd 6GB set.OCZ told me the memory need to run fine at 1333MHZ. Gigabyte also ok'd the second time I asked. Started possessing the errors other persons have been talking about - crashes, BSOD relating to "memory management", and so forth. This was the exact same set that ran excellent at 1066MHZ for a year.RMA'd and the replacement was even worse. This time OCZ is RMA'ing a straight refund. Was the problem with the board or the memory? I don't know for certain. I do know the board is Extremely particular about timing settings. When I used OCZ's own advised timings of 7-7-7-20 I started obtaining memory problems. When I use the additional aggressive 7-7-7-16 settings the BIOS autodetects, the memory runs without having issues, even at 1333MHZ. So now I'm back to 6GB and I appear to be unable to add a lot more.

Board style is great, cmos battery wants to be moved. Recovery Lost Dram Sizeyep.. google this error and see the myriad of individuals experiencing problems with triple channel memory (even memory thats on the approved compatibility list) and this board recognizing it.I requested and received an RMA, had the similar concerns. Theres comments even on this internet site suggesting persons requesting a number of RMA's, only to be met with defect. There also might be an intermittent problem in the onboard networking adapter, as even with the RMA board (after the 3 reboots "Recovering lost DRAM size" and recognizing only two channels of memory, would occasionally flake out in the course of windows update requiring me to replugin the cable.I have in no way had such problems, or seasoned the hoops listening to GB about this board. Returned for refund. This board, on paper, appears fantastic. I don't generally overview items but this one particular I could not resist. Judging by the quantity of troubles folks have, I would undoubtedly get something else. The most ridiculous issue is that I consider quite a few more folks are dealing with memory not becoming recognized, believing that every thing is in suitable function.Excellent manage took a nap on this board, and gigabyte is still pushing it out with the Rev2 which has been going for 90 days now, and nonetheless garbage. Got lots of interfaces, and placed effectively. Common Bios upgrade killed the board. I removed battery, and so attempted a number of things, but some thing is hardcoded to the board, and stuck in reboot loop. It say CMOS checksum error, but I cleared it 100 instances. I never ever saw Mobo just get this problems by straightforward Bios upgrade by thier personal software program (@bios whaever!) If you already purchased this by no means ever upgrade Bios! Amazing board. e-sata, easy overclocking. Did not function completely when I got it (purchased full pc from iBuyPower). For these of you who are getting "Verifying DMI Information Pool" then "Recovering lost DRAM size" and the computer system reboots and goes via this cycle three-four occasions before booting; also have far more installed RAM than shown and only element of it is usable.I had these exact same challenges till I removed all the RAM and booted up with each and every stick (make positive to use the second slot from the left when employing only a single stick). Immediately after I verified that all sticks worked properly, I reinstalled all of them and my challenges had been gone! I now have 12 GB of RAM installed all functioning properly and no longer get the rebooting challenge.I hope this helps someone simply because it saved me a complete lot of trouble with the RMA method.

Wonderful capabilities, good price tag, wonderful history with the organization, but............. All I can say is to search for "recovering lost dram size." Unfortunately, it seems this entire line of GB motherboards is garbage. The above BIOS memory error triggered the board to continuously reboot. Immediately after looking on the net for the error, it became clear this is a wide spread and often encountered issue. I replaced the MB with an Asus (Sabertooth) and no challenges. Ran like a dream. I've been creating systems for over 15 years, and used Asus, Gigabyte, MIS, Biostar. Seriously no complaints with Gigabyte till now. Hey NewEgg - send the lot back and get YOUR money back. Uncomplicated to install. Nice colors. Excellent value. Runs properly. Rapidly. Stable. Solid. Has high high quality Japanese strong state capacitors. Supports 24GB of DDR3 RAM. 5Ǜ tenቦ No four pin Molex headers for fans. Floppy drive cable is as well quick. Not a major deal, though. The cons weren't a major deal. I just have to buy six more fans, two 90mm and four 120mm mainly because my old fans use the Molex headers that I had on my old EVGA 680i motherboard. This motherboard only has the three pin fan headers. Also the floppy drive cable is as well brief which doesn't bother me because I only use it when a year anyways.

Good solution if you wish to make a high end laptop then not be capable to use it for a extended time. I have five comps. i can take them apart and put them together and commonly figure a difficulty out relatively rapidly. I have gone though two rma's for this board already... the 1st time some guy there bent the pins of the board and claimed he fixed the difficulty which was the pins. tested it any every thing. Came back to me with browning about the 24pin atx energy connector. send that back. get new board... i rma'd anything else just in case and got a much better psu. Go to turn it on.... practically nothing. No post at all. unplug all unnecessary products, no post. I am never obtaining another issue from this company ever again. Even complained about them to the BBB and i recommend other folks do the exact same. I ought to not be lied to about a board being tested and approved and i should not have to wait months to be able to use my computer just due to the fact i essentially used to like gigabyte as a organization. Please send me a board that doesnt suck and has nothing at all to do with gigbyte please. If a person would like to send me this board once again as an rma... please send at least five-ten so i can locate the 1 that may well perform. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your comments.
