Cons: Clunky UEFI Boot Options

Pros: Easy to install, great looking board
Comment:
Unlike other boards I've used, this one is a little annoying when it comes to booting from GPT/UEFI-enabled OSes.For example, a USB stick with a UEFI-compatible Linux LiveCD image doesn't show up in the boot menu right away. Instead, you have to enter the UEFI setup, exit, then go to the boot menu again immediately - then it shows up.Also, it lacks a built-in UEFI shell, which limits what .efi executables you can load without using something like rEFInd.

Cons: None so far

Pros: Loads of features included at a good price
Comment:
Bought this to pair with a 3770 & 16gb of G.Skill ram, completely impressed with how stable it is out of the box. I have done absolutely 0 tweaking aside from boot options and enabling the XMP profile for the RAM and the system just hums along without issue.I read lots of reviews and threads about this board while shopping around, and had the "fixes" for the "common" issues reported with it ready to go. Absolutely nothing was required. I don't know if the bootloop/standyby audio drop  out/usb3 issues some people seem to get really are rare, or if everything was ironed out with Rev1.1 of the board, but mine is rock solid stable. An excellent board for anyone looking for lots of features for a good price with great stability.

Cons: Many of the earlier BIOS editions had widely reported teething problems. Am cautiously optimistic, despite an initial hiccup trying to install W7 to 256gb mSATA (see below).

Pros: industry leading in features/price ratio
Comment:
W7 (64) doesn't want to install on the mSATA, saying the drive or SATA connection (I forget the message) doesn't support WIndows installation and to consult the manufacturer. Googled for hours but cannot find anything re: UD5H and using its mSATA as a boot drive. Yes I realize it will run at SATA2 speeds, but I want to give it a try anyway. Before installing OS on something else and checking if this mSATA drive is borked (the bios sees it fine), has anyone here been able to install W7 on an mSATA on the UD5H? Is there a setting in the bios I need to change to allow OS install on the mSATA? There is nothing in the UD5H manual.

Cons: Some of the ugly orange lights inside don't turn off..Didn't detect memory timings correctly. Had to set them manually

Pros: Tons of USB3 and SATA3 portsmSATA portEasy to overclock withExcellent onboard audio
Comment:
I've had no problem whatsoever overclocking with this motherboard. Took a few tries to get the voltage just right, but it's been stable ever since. I actually enjoy using the front audio ports on my case now. I couldn't stand to use these on my old motherboard due to excessive buzzing.3570k o 4.4 GHz, 1.160V

Excellent Build QualityPlenty of SATA, USB portsStable overclockI've owned this for about 2 weeks. It has not had a single crash, all ports are working correctly without malfunction. My 3570k is currently sitting at 4.0 GHZ with a hyper 212 evo. Idles around 30 degrees, load barely reaches 60 degrees.Overall very happy with my purchase

Cons: Bit too pricey, ram could be a teensy bit further from the CPU socket.

Pros: pretty, stable, plenty of passive cooling, easy to OC, plethora of bells and whistles.board is well spaced for the most part.
Comment:
Great board to work with. Has just about any connection you could want, with an ivy bridge CPU it'll handle 3 way crossfire or SLI. Has an mSATA port so you can install a boot drive SSD. The heatsinks around the board will help keep the board cool when it's OC'd as long as you have a well ventilated case.most components are spaced very well, and this next complaint is partially my fault as well. When using corsair Vengeance RAM and a corsair A50 Cooler, the ram heat spreader of the first slot is snug up against the bottom of the CPU cooler. Had I used RAM with a smaller heat spreader it would have been perfectly ok, but should that stick of ram need to come out, the cooler has to come off as well.

Cons: Bios firmware updates needed for full audio support

Pros: Solid motherboardUser friendly biosSports a great set of features
Comment:
This is a great motherboard overall. At such a great price you get a solid motherboard that supplies the necessities to get your rig up and running for normal operations, and overclocking for the casual overclocker.I managed to run a dual boot system with Windows 7 on one disk, and Mac (hackintosh) on the other.I didn't hit any obstacles except for one of the audio ports, which seems to be a core problem with the motherboards firmware (?), which was promised to be fixed in an upcoming update. Otherwise, its highly recommended..

Great mobo, hands down one of the best! Upgraded from EP45-UD3P and Intel E8400 to This mobo and an i5 3570k. Have not done any overclocking but seems to work well. Bios update  was a breeze and worked like a charm. Love the PCB that this thing is made out of, looks good, and yet again another killer product from Gigabyte. Awesome mobo for the price and tonns of features that im sure I will never use, but good to have anyhow.Compatabilit yto do SLI x-fre make this a must have for a gamer, or any overclockers out there. I have read reviews and this is one of the best, if not the best overclocking mobo available in the price range.Gigabyte has yet to let me down with any of the products I have purchased from them.

Cons: Not enough USB 2.0 headers onboard and not enough USB ports on the back panel.

Pros: Good price.Feature rich.Quality built.
Comment:
The is a nice board. Setup was relatively painless with the UEFI bios with the exception that my TT eSports keyboard would not work with the supplied F5 Bios or Gigabyte's newest official F8 Bios. I had to flash to a Beta F9 Bios for it to work. The dual Bios with switch is a really nice feature. Also the onboard CMOS clear, reset and power buttons are great during install. As stated in the "Cons" section, the lack of 2.0 USB ports was disappointing, especially the onboard headers. I had to leave some of my front panel case ports unplugged. Now there is an abundance of 3.0 headers and an included 3.0 3.5" front panel, so it may not be an issue for others. I am using IRST with a 60GB SSD and had no issues setting this up. That said, I think the included mSATA onboard connector is a waste of board space. Why buy a small capacity mSATA SSD when the price of 60GB SSD's are so low?I'm using this board with an overclocked 2500k. Overclocking it with stock voltages to 4 GHz was simple as pie.Onboard sound is more than adequate for my gaming needs.I believe this is one of the better boards in the under $200 price range.

Cons: 1. Problems with the base clock set at Auto, which were fixed by the very recent F7 Bios.2. Bios battery is under the discrete GPU, removing it requires the removal of the video card.

Pros: 1.Plenty of options in the Bios.2. Feels sturdy.3. Plenty of Sata/USB/PCI etc. slots4. 2 Bios chips in case something happens.5. Spots on board to measure important Voltages.6. On board Power, reset and Cmos reset switches and error code display.7. Satisfying amount of power phases.
Comment:
Fantastic board, aside from the issue with the BLCK on Auto on certain builds. When I contacted Gigabyte support regarding the issue, they produced the new F7 bios, which fixed the problem. This is the same problem Michael_F mentioned.I am satisfied by both the board, and the company's support. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-12-12 06:50 PM

Pros: matte black full featurespower buttondual biosesata port
Comment:
so when i bought this, i first thought that it was a very nice looking board, and one of those "bang for the buck" kind of motherboard. when i put everything together i seemed to have some random freeze problem, wasn't sure if it was because of the outdated drivers or it was because of other things. but in the end i got the motherboard to work and i set the base clock to 100.1 instead of auto and so far so good. another problem that i came across was when i tried to install my gtx 560 ti twin frozr ii oc edition card, that i couldn't put it in the 16x slot of my pci-e and was forced to use the 8x becuase, when i try to install it in the 16x slot, it couldnt click since the heatsink of the intel chipset was a bit too tall. in the end, i'm just happy that everything went well and it works

Cons: -the UEFI bios is still not up to the standards set by Asus-Voltage controls aren't as extensive as the EVGA P55 board I'm used to

Pros: Features!!-Displayport-Esata-10 USB 3.0!!-Lots of SATA 3 and e-sata ports-Intel LANExcellent cooling design, stays cool without any fans even under heavy overclocking.
Comment:
This is a very feature rich board, at similar price points, it offers a more complete feature set. Displayport supporting 2560x1440 resolution with a I7-2600K was a must for me, this was the cheapest board which offered displayport, e-sata, and a wealth of USB 3 ports.Overclocking is good, although the dynamic vcore options are not up to the flexibility of EVGA. Took me a while to play around with the LLC options before I found a good level for 24/7 use.

Cons: - Bottom PCI Express slot is only available when an Ivy Bridge CPU is installed- Some mouse issues with 3D BIOS with BIOS F5 and F6

Pros: - Great layout- Price- Dual Gigabit LAN (Intel and Atheros)- Long SLI bridge
Comment:
This is a well-equipped enthusiast class motherboard. The layout is great and it also offers an integrated mSATA which can be used to take advantage of Intel Smart Response (although at the cost of one SATA ports). Since BIOS version F5 and F6d (still in BETA), I cannot use my mouse (Steelseries Sensei) in the 3D BIOS, but it’s really easy to navigate using the keyboard.Setup was a breeze, but I did run into a strange issue: the CPU socket lever is not perfectly smooth and it did scratch the board when engaging and disengaging it. It’s nothing critical, but there are traces on the PCB right where the board is scratched.
