Cons: Doesn't spoof the monitor to unconnected machines

Pros: Unobtrusive, reliable
Comment:
I'm using this switch between my old 2.4GHz P4 system with an ATI All-in-Wonder card and my new 2.67GHz Core i7 system with an Asus EAH-4350 card. The switch is feeding a Samsung SyncMaster 245b 24" LCD panel running at a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. I'm not using the audio switching feature since I like both computers to be able to play audio simultaneously so that I can hear audible alerts from the computer I'm not connected to.The switch works as advertised. I have only a couple of caveats:1) I had a PS2 keyboard when I first started using the switch. I tried to connect it using a PS2 to USB adapter (this was an active adapter, not just the kind of socket converter that's used with dual USB/PS2-capable keyboards). That was very problematic with frequent keyboard lockups, so I ended up buying a true USB keyboard which works without a hitch.2) If you boot a system with the KVM switched to the "other" system, the system that boots can't read the monitor information and, depending on what kind of OS it is, you may get default VGA resolution. I found this to be very annoying with Windows - so now I make sure to switch the KVM to the system being booted until it has initialized it's video card.I like the included switch button quite a lot. It means I don't have to fiddle with keyboard commands to switch monitors, something I've found to be occasionally problematic with other KVM switches I've used. And I'm able to hide the actual KVM switch and cables under my desk with only a very small wire leading to the switch button handily placed beside my keyboard - it makes for a very neat arrangement.

Cons: Somewhat an octopus of cables under my desk, but it's fewer cables than you'd have for another keyboard, mouse, and pair of speakers!

Pros: Does what it advertises very well. Excellent sound quality. Good build quality. Alternate keyboard hotkey for keyboards without scroll lock.

OK, I've only had this for about a half hour now, but I had to come by and give it a positive review. This DVI-D KVM is excellent! I heard negative things about Syba's audio and Belkin's quality, and positive things about IOGear, so I decided to give it a try.I'm connecting two machines, a standard PC server running Ubuntu Linux and a brand new Mac Mini attached to a Samsung 24 inch 2243BW. Both machines are running at 1920x1200. I'm using a Logitech EX110 wireless keyboard and mouse combo. The setup works perfectly. Switching is fast (about 1 second, and audio is instant). The audio sounds perfect on my 2.1 speakers. Both the Mac and Ubuntu recognise the keyboard and respond instantly to the switch. Audio can be switched independantly of Video/Keyboard/Mouse.I was a bit worried about the double USB cables: my wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse uses a single USB cable, and the KVM has separate cables for keyboard and mouse. Using the keyboard port for the wireless hub works great with no issues for the mouse. As a bonus I get a second USB connection that works great when connected to a USB card reader. It switched perfectly between both computers. I suspect I could connect a hub to it and it should work perfectly, sharing devices between computers.Another nice feature is that this keyboard has no scroll lock key, but you can change the hot key on the KVM to Control. (Control,Control,Enter makes the switch, with other variants for KVM and audio only toggles)The manuals are brief, but they do the job. Be sure to look at both sides of the folding card. This is a top quality product and should be the first choice for home users who need a DVI KVM.Again, this is a 30 minute review (now an hour after typing this up and doing more research into what this thing can do). I promise to come back and post again if my opinion of the device changes.
