Nice simple, sleek finish. Fits in with other house audio rack equipment. Extremely quiet golfball fans and 3 of them. Keeps case nice and cool. No super vibrant LEDs. Like talked about, make positive you select your cpu fan accordingly if you are not going stock. The clearance is really low if you are using an optical drive. I ended up going with a Scythe Major Shuriken and had a couple of mm to spare under the optical drive. Modular power supplies would be preferred, not significantly space for cable management. Had to remove one of the fans on the cpu end of the case to install aftermarket fan and then had a tough time getting it back in but managed. Was a tight match. 3.five" HDD sits directly on best of PSU, so if you have a prime fan cooled PSU, it could restrict air flow, mine fortunately mounted with the fan on the bottom. Complete length video cards would be a tight match even although the case says it supports them. Attractive case, looks like it belongs in my house theater rack. Coming from an Antec 1080 that I applied to use as a HTPC, this is nice. cable management is a nightmare. This was to be anticipated due to the size of the case, and getting a complete sized PSU in it. I deemed removing an egg due to cabling troubles, but that's inherent in this case design, there is no resolution. Be certain to use a modular PSU.

Had heat issues with previous laptop case(since the case is butted up against a wall and the back was the only exit for heat in the previous case) This case, mainly because of it's side venting, has no issues at all, the similar components run quiet and cool, with no a lot more lockups. I want It could hold 2 a lot more HDD's

Perfect size for what I wanted. I necessary a unit that would fit inside the 18" rack size AV furnishings I have, and it will with some room to spare on the side for airflow. Relatively solid building for the cash, and it will look decent as a HTPC. Really hard to work on. No thumb screws have been utilised, so even to take the cover off you'll require a screwdriver. Like other individuals have mentioned, you'll have to eliminate the difficult drive bracket to do just about anything inside the case. But that's the tradeoff for receiving a laptop case in this size. I was preparing to get yet another Antec case, since they are of excellent excellent, but it was twice as much and in all probability wouldn't have match as well. This was far better priced and fits fine.

Nice clean lines. Muted led energy led (blue) in front. A lot of fans and area for much more. The 120mm fans are quite quiet when undervolted. Appears proper at property in A/V rack. Rubber feet for bottom of PSU. Handles 2.five" drives.Case is nice and cool. The soft (silicone?) washers for the challenging drives are only for the 3.5" drives. I had to use some O rings to mount my two.5" laptop drive. Possibly I overlooked some thing here? Would have liked to see "stereo feet" front and back, but, for the cost I can't complain. From what I've read your fan/heatsink for cpu can't exceed 70mm in height. I could use DVD drive w/Coolermaster Gemini II S ࿶mm). I knew this going inot it though. This is a excellent case and a great worth for the cash. Possibly a single of the nicest situations I've worked with. With worth in mind.... five egger

Appears good as an HTPC, not also pricey. Good extras like rubber HD mounts. 120mm fans permit you to have successful, practically noiseless cooling. Effortless access front USB & sound ports generating plugging in accessories easy. None, it's excellent for its value point. If you use a microATX board you can use a bigger than stock CPU heat sink (but not significantly bigger), if you use a full ATX board, your CPU will be below your CD/DVD/BLURAY driver and you'll possibly want a 1U cpu cooler. Certain the inside is cramped, but it's an HTPC case, not a full tower so it is what it is.No clue if the stock fans are any good, I replaced them all with silent 120mm Scythe fans. I wish case makers wouldn't even bother.

Incredibly Quiet, not absolutely silent but for the 3 case fans I can barely hear them. Bought this case to create my HTPC and am really satisfied. Match all of the components I purchased for it.Going to get yet another one particular to rebuild my living area server due to the fact my old cooler master arctic case is very easily 10 occasions nosier than this so my guests can lastly sleep in the living space rather than toss and turn all night and ask me to shut my server off ;) Only cons are the slot screws have flat heads with tiny depth so replace with your personal, and some of the screws for braces and brackets are fairly little so have a magnetized Ş phillips handy. Also depending on mobo the PXIe 1x slot is underneath the mid assistance brace and the hole by means of the brace to access the slot screw is too smaller for a replaceable tip driver so I had to eliminate the brace to add in my television tuner card.practically nothing actually to make me knock an egg off even though. (not bought at Newegg)Note on the sideways slot, if you intend to mount the really hard drive in the space above it you may want to make certain the PSU isn't as well large. I put in a 650 Antec Truepower and had about threeǚ" space involving it and the difficult drive which triggered the USB bracket I placed in the slot more than the power provide to bend slightly when I secured the really hard drives brace down but practically nothing to interfere with operations.

Depth!!! This case isn't a mile deep and can fit in most any element rack. This was a major feature for me. Even though it is shallow if fits a common AT energy supply. Case looks very good and like it belongs in a rack of other elements. Holds two really hard drives of varying physical sizes. Case seem to be sturdy and properly created with quality materials. The heat sink and fan, as installed, for the CPU can not exceed 70mm height from the motherboard if an optical drive is installed. Devoid of the optical drive installed there is a whopping 120mm of room. It is a little tough to tuck away all the power provide cables. A modular provide is the way to go with this case. The fans are somewhat noisy but I would rather have this than a case that overheats. I may attempt and unplug 1 or two fans and see if it lowers the noise level without having raising temperatures also a lot. These items aren't enough to knock off an egg even though. It is really hard to find an HTPC case that isn't a lot more than 15-18 inches deep. This case is effectively under this size and nonetheless tends to make area for most elements a single would use in an HTPC. It can even accommodate complete size video cards. The price tag may be a little on the higher side but then again attempt and locate a excellent HTPC case with such little depth whilst preserving great functionality inside the case.

Nice looking case, well laid out. Fits excellent with my audio and DVD elements. Really robust and properly built. Almost everything operating cool with 3 huge fans. Installing storage drives is tight and cabling requirements care. Now I have the CPU fan and Video card fan it is a little noisy when the room is quiet. Have to remove the Blu Ray/DVD drive to install video card. WOuld have been a 5 if this was simpler. Thinkind of turing one particular of the fans off to see what effect it has on cooling.

I packed this thing with two really hard drives a blu-ray drive a zotac ZT-40601-20L fanless nvidia gt430 it touches the lid but fits. I also used stock amd cooling not significantly else seemed to be a very good match. Massive ram sinks like the ocz reaper may also be a problem so get standard hight ram. The additional horizontal expansion slot was a excellent place to add a esata bracket. Took my more than sized energy supply but had to drop a fan. Still runs cool on two fans. Has s.b.l. (sexy blue light). I could put size right here but I was hunting for some point that would be compact. Due to the fact it is laid out nicely size isn't even seriously an problem. Could use a second s.b.l. 1 for power a single for HDD as is I feel they use 1 for each. If you have an onkyo av receiver this issue is about the same size so they appear excellent in the entertainment center. Quiet fans as well.

Getting never ever built a personal computer just before, it went quite properly. I located it to be relatively uncomplicated to do and not a lot of headaches. Biggest difficulty I had was in figuring out how to mount the hard drives. On 1 of them, the screws come down from above. On the other two, they screw in from the side. On the ones that screw in from the side, it does matter which side is up. Do it wrong and the SATA cable won't attain. It has to go upside down from (and perpendicular to, which is apparent) the the top-mounted really hard drive. I attribute this to me obtaining in no way assembled a computer system ahead of. This case was uncomplicated to setup with my micro-atx mobo, optical drive, difficult drive and psu. It looks fantastic, fits in with other a/v components in the living space. The thick plastic front bezel feels incredibly sturdy (i can pull/push difficult on it and it doesn't budge or flex). The metal parts of the case are also sturdy. Instruction manual was properly completed, directions are quite clear, include helpful illustrations, printed in a booklet on good paper. A lot of screws included to install components. Includes cable ties to hold down cables out of the way. The four fans (probably overkill) move lots of air and are quiet. My ten.5" hd video card (ATI Radeon 4350) fits fine with space to spare. I can't believe of any. I have built various computers now. I've learned that the case choice is a lot a lot more critical than I used to think. You may well be tempted to go cheap. But circumstances that have parts that break or bend or look bad aren't worth it. For an HTPC build you want some thing that looks nice, is sturdy, and fits your stuff. This case does that for me.

I bought this case as a replacement for an nMedia case that I purchased from Newegg a couple of years ago. The case that this one particular replaced was similarly priced but slightly larger. This case was in a position to fit my old Asrock P4 micro-ATX motherboard, 1 3.five" tough drive, 1 SATA DVD burner, three addon cards Ƒ AGP graphics card, 1 Tv Tuner card, and 1 sound card) that were all complete height w/o any troubles. The case comes with 3 120 mm fans that are quite quiet and create a excellent quantity of airflow. You can also add 2 more 80 mm fans in the back of the case if you like. I am impressed with the solid really feel of the case and the way the case is laid out. The case has internal mount points for some integrated cable ties to attach to. This assistance me handle the cables a bit greater than my old case did. This case is straightforward and has a very good design. It is a fantastic obtain for a Silverstone case if you are not worried about getting an LCD display or integrated remote. The case dimensions are such that, depending on the size of your CPU heat sink and fan, there could be a clearance concern b/t the heat sink and the DVD drive (if you have a single installed). In my case, I did have a clearance situation with my Thermaltake heatsink (with 92 mm fan) and DVD burner. I remedied this by offset mounting an 80 mm fan that I had. It seems to perform properly sufficient, thinking about it is attempting to cool a P4 3.4GHz Prescott. This case is a fantastic, economical acquire for a HTPC.

This case is genuinely good. It is as small as possible even though nonetheless permitting you the flexibility to obtain "normal" components which really helps maintain the cost down and reuse-capacity up for your HTPC develop. It it higher high quality and genuinely beefy metal. The style is properly believed out and functions well. There is even some "extra" room for cable management. The tricky drive installation is a bit tight. Not a large deal, but makes cable routing a little intriguing. The screens over the fans are truly too considerably. The screens are intended to hold the dust out, which they do effectively, but they restrict the airflow as well significantly. Unless you are willing to completely disassemble the case each month in order to clean them, you must just take away them. Specifically if you are passively cooling, which does perform nicely with the Silverstone offset CPU cooler, get rid of the fan screens. Purchase a modular PSU so you can take away the unused cables. The excess power cables end up getting stuffed appropriate in front of 1 of the fans. You can put a total of three difficult drives in this case, Ƒ) 2.five" and ƒ) three.5". I recommend the 2.five" AV drive from Western Digital for your technique to run from. Then you can use ƒ) 3.5" 1-two TB drives for huge storage in a RAID configuration.

Looks fantastic. Small size. Well thought out. Fans are quiet! CD/DVD tray tends to make low profile heatsink/fan necessary. 70 mm is about all the room you have. I posted ahead of about fans not operating. Speak about wierd. All 3 fans weren't spinning even though hooked to different power sources, 2 to PS, 1 to MB. Turns out a pin had backed out of molex connector on PS adapter and MB method fan connector was non functional. I apologize to Silverstone for my previous evaluation, beneath.

Nice cooling; neat layout. Sturdy case; great included fans. Special power provide ventilation style that pulls air from beneath the case, thermally isolating it somewhat from the rest of the elements. I'm employing this HTPC case to property my xeon quad core server with two 2TB drives and an eSATA enclosure + card with four additional 2TB data. I deemed getting a gigantic server case, but this seems far nicer. Plus, by moving storage to an eSATA enclosure the require for a large case to residence quite a few drives is alleviated; and the two internal drive bays means 1 can raid their system disk as nicely. Precisely what is necessary. The modular power supply "SILVERSTONE ST60F-P 600W" is sized perfectly for this case and its mounting needs. Tested and verified. Tough-drive trays each place the challenging-disk against a plate. Commonly, tough-disk cages are vertically arranged. At 1st one particular might feel this isn't an problem, but look at that you want to use a modular power provide and as couple of cables as achievable for this case. That mentioned, say you want to energy two SATA tricky disks and a SATA dvd burner. Nicely, the SATA energy cables on most energy supplies provide Three sata energy connectors (perfect!).. nevertheless, there's a hitch. As with IDE cables, the connectors tend to fork out of the side for the middle two connectors, kinda like the following: ____|____ where the | is the connector. Effectively, when there's nowhere else to go with this cable, that signifies you have to pressure the cable to force it to curve back onto itself... I managed to get this to work, but was concerned with breaking the HDD connector from stressing the cable. Also, for comparable reasons, you'll be wanting one particular correct-angle sata cable and two straight ones. You WILL be working with cable ties! If you got really brief sata power extension cables (and zip tied them onto themselves so they were even shorter) you could bypass the _____|____ problem pointed out in the cons above. Didn't take an egg off for this difficulty, either, mainly because IMO it's a fault of the PSU cables not the case (though they had been each created by the same company in this case =P)

Mainly well thought via layout (see cons). If you stick to the steps in the accompanying manual, you shouldn't have any difficulties installing. Relatively quiet. No whining noise, just a low tone hum. I use it as a HTPC and the sound isn't apparent when you are watching Television. Make sure to place the memory into the motherboard just before screwing it into the case. The fans on the side are appropriate subsequent to the memory slot on some motherboards and will stop you from opening up the latches on the memory slot all the way. So, you can't place in any memory after screwing down the motherboard. Not a significant con, but would have been a pain if I hadn't observed it first by luck. The manual need to have encouraged this step. There is no HDD light even when there is a HDD LED connector inside. With the layout, adding a 2nd 3.5" HDD would be a large pain. I don't think you can add a single if you use up the extended PCI slot above the energy supply.
