I bought this drive for backing up my office system and it works excellently. The access time is pretty good and it draws less power than the other external drive I have hooked up to my desktop. The drive is a bit louder than my other external drive when it is reading and writing, but with 4 times the memory, it's not really a drawback. |

I have never ever written a review for anything in my life (to lazy)! But for this product I just had to. I bought this thing and was so happy to finally be able to transport all my files. Well the same day I got it the drive just stopped working. I sent it back to your company and they sent me a replacement. It worked great for 3 weeks and then I couldn't access some of my files from it. It stops responding when I try to do anything with those files. So now i'm going to return it again for the 2nd time and order a 3rd external. |

Got this baby on sale for a very low price, so to that end it was a great value. It performs as expected, with little hum. I like the simple design and love that the parts are easily recycled and that with no fan, the drive uses less energy. No fancy backup software or extras, but I don't use those anyway. |

I am very happy with this drive. It said that I would have to format this drive, but it was already formatted which saved me time. Plug it in and no problems so far. I love the E-SATA port that speeds up my data transfer. Backups are easier than ever. Nicely done! |

I bought one based on reviews and price. My amd64 desktop runs Hardy Heron. It took me a while to figure out how to use it as a backup drive, but the key was first getting Partition Editor, and formatting the drive to ext3 (took just a few minutes). Then Simple Backup and Restore was able to work with the drive and do automatic backups. No command lines needed. Keeping NTFS format would only make sense if this were used to share files with windoze, and complicates things! Unit is quiet and good looking, works with my eSATA connection. Glad I bought it! |

I like this product because it is green. Hooks up quickly, and it is detected by your computer automatically. Quickly and cleanly copied over files. No problems so far. Have had it running non-stop for 1 month to archive scientific data. |
