it can pack on a lot of horsepower (quad core CPU, 8GB RAM, 3 SATA devices) Wifi is flakey under all OS's (Windows 7, Ubunutu Linux, and Mac OS X). It will be working fine then all of a sudden disappear. Overheating? Black magic? who knows. Also, it is picky about RAM brands for stability. Be sure to get something tested per the Zotac RAM compatibility list.

i purchased this board back in February for a htpc build. right after some of the evaluations i was a small apprehensive but am glad i went for it. with 4 gigs geil ram and a e8400 core2duo this handles everything from high def television to operating my wii emulator devoid of a hitch. the onboard video is far more than sufficient for my desires and the price is far more than fair for what you get. i would suggest this to any person none as of yet

Lots of onboard functions (in theory)Dual audio codecs (HDMI and normal Realtek HDA stack w/ 6 analog channels, optical + coaxial) Practically absolutely useless. If it didn't operate as a paperweight, it would be fully useless. This board has more timing and setup/hold violations than any board I've ever seen. Won't run with 1066MHz RAM, even though advertised. Finicky as can be with 1333MHz RAM. The x16 PCIe slot is only x8 electrical - place in a GTX 580 and video functionality went DOWN!Won't run 64-bit Linux, any boot try outcomes in core dump due to IRQ routing troubles.Won't POST with bus-powered USB hub connected. Sits at white screen forever. Similar hub (and attached keyboard+mouse) operate perfectly on all my other systems (all of which have Intel motherboards)Incorporated wireless board is so fragile it seems like touching it may possibly break the issue. It does operate out of the box with Ubuntu 10.ten 32-bit, but I never tested reliability. Wireless does not function on 64-bit Windows.CPU fan speed control is terrible at best. Ramps up and down randomly, slowly, quite noticeable. No fan speed manage for ch Let it be a warning to anyone constructing a method - a motherboard being finicky about RAM is your initial indication that the engineers haven't accomplished their homework and you're in for a lot of difficulties more than the extended haul. Possessing AMIBIOS is the subsequent red flag - broken IRQ routing and ACPI hacks to get Windows to run are commonplace with AMIBIOS. This means trouble for anybody operating any other OS.Following struggling with this board for months, testing every possible resolution, I recognize I need to have heeded this suggestions myself. Will be returning the board to my location of acquire and obtaining a attempted and accurate Intel brand replacement. At least they know how to confirm delay paths! Nice small board with PCIe two x16, DDR3, will take standard CPU and good iGPU nvidia 9300. HORRID wifi card and/or undesirable drivers for the card. Be prepared to get one more usb wifi and devote additional income. Hybrid SLI is a waste for the most aspect as a new video card will give you so significantly far better overall performance. HORRID manual; will be a struggle for newbies...go DL the manual online. On the internet help could be much better. Two eggs b/c I do like the Pros. as talked about and no other ITX at the moment has those. nvidia 9300 is very usable on common applications and games.

- Straightforward setup- It simply functions - Backplate is rather flimsy thin aluminum - engineered as the least typical denominator amongst all GF9300 motherboards. I would gladly pay the additional 25 or 50 cents in price to have a piece of real metal that was particular for the 9300-K-E. I was set on constructing a low energy headless media server to sit on my LAN. I searched for about a month for the best configuration of elements for this project and settled on this mobo. I had some hesitation due to the varying reviews, but this board coupled with recognized/solid components is carrying out the job magnificently.I coupled this board with:- E5700 CPU (best value/performance on date of acquire)- 8GB Vital DDR3 Pc-10600 memory (best memory - assured to function)- Kingston 128GB SSD (found ๛ rebate)- Win 7Machine is extremely fast. I didn't even need to use Zotac's driver install CD - Win 7 discovered everything and automatically pulled patches from Microsoft and nVidia.Just FYI - Win 7 indicates the nVidia graphics is the slow poke in the above configuration scoring low-mid five's on Knowledge Index whereas CPU/disk/memory are nicely into the mid/high 6's.

Lots of attributes and on Board Nvidia First board DOA, RMA DOA now it's past 30 days with NewEgg.Board is Junk Will not load OS, either Linux or Win 7. Purchased to create a compact unit, worked with Zotac support for some time and they mentioned RMA for very first board. When I got the RMA'd board tried once more. Exact same difficulty, would reboot so I figured might be also low of PSU. So I ordered an additional situation with a 480W PSU, identical problem. Continual "NSL data is missing with Win 7, Linux just cores. Tried multipule versions of Linux. Used USB install, USB CDROM and even an eSata CDROM drive. I've tried Kingston RAM and OCZ Ram, OCZ will not even post the BIOS.Tired of messing with it, I will in no way acquire any Zotac product once again if ships with this type of junk.

Only the CPU temp could be identified, even with sensors-detect perl script from the net. BUT CPU fan speed can be scaled back automatically by enabling it in BIOS. So, no need for OS to manage the CPU fan. In BIOS the fan speed pulses consistently the moment you allow it -- don't be alarmed. This is a good one particular stop MB w/graphics.Runs games properly, operating the on-board video.Has expansion for a devoted V-card in future, if required.Been running in a TINY box for six months now. No heat troubles, even with the tiny box having very tiny cooling obtainable.On-board HDMI for video out, but I haven't employed. The included wireless has been a lot more trustworthy and more quickly than the old Computer with it's USB WIFI adapter that it replaced. The ITX element is extremely small; which is the point of the factor.I have quite large hands and it was harder than usual, but not terribly so. Had to have the wife do 2 steps for me (with her smaller hands). It was a lot uncomplicated to install and has held up properly.I'm currently creating plans for a HTPC develop with this in it.

Running with no any probs. for two weeks now. The video is the ideal on board video that you can buy. A primary reason I bought this board. Very good for keeping power usage down. This new upgrade board takes the fastest memory for Mini ITX boards. None so far. The improvement more than prior Zotec mini ITX boards is that this one particular takes DDR3 1333񳀚 memory. Specs say wireless b/g, nonetheless, it is actually wireless n once you install the new drivers. Love Zotec mini ITX boards, personal three now. Wish Zotec would make an AM3 socket Mini ITX board so I can run the 6 chip phenoms that blow Intel away on price for speed. This board looks very promising from it's specs, but couldn't get any further than that This board a super stingy on what ram it will support. Even zotacs website only lists 10 different models as becoming compatible. Zotac support was telling me that I had bad ram, but immediately after testing all my components on another brands board, every thing worked fine. The "bad" ram even tests out a working fine. Now zotac won't even respond to my e-mails. Yes, e-mail because I can't come across any 800 number tech support for them. You are at the mercy of there on the net tech support. I also bought a video card from them and have had no troubles out it. I am just fully disappointed due to the fact of zotac saying that it's yet another businesses product that is causing the difficulty. Immediately after replying to the e-mail tech support that the ram tests fine in an additional method, they have failed to get in touch with me. I sent two messages about this issue and after a week of no response I figure it was time to put my assessment on here.
