Whats to say - total value and solid little guy! - it's the a single you want NONE For 15 bucks - don't spend income on a higher value more than blown unit. Plus, you can plug into to something with this little unit and it will function.

worked ok with an SD card Won't perform with my compact flash cards. Shows up as three removable drives, except for when it shows as 4 removable drives. Have to guess which one has the card in it, can't see which "drive" has the card. If I guess incorrect, then it hangs Windows explorer. Vista doesn't seem to like this gadget substantially. I want I'd shopped for it on Newegg rather of in a retailer. Then I would have observed the ratings and bought some thing else. Manufacturer Response:The device has drive letter recognition software which you can download from IOGEAR's website below Help / Drivers & Manuals. The computer software replaces confusing icons with memory card icons for less difficult access. When the drive/memory card slot is in use, the icon modifications the colour from Grey to Blue. This computer software works under Windows 2000, XP, Vista 32ኜ-bit. The device itself does not need driver installation. It really should be plug-and-play beneath Window. To further minimize confusion, the device utilizes a single chipset to access SD/microSD/miniSD cards and another chipset to access MS/MS Duo/M2 cards. This is why the device has six slots but only shows four drives under "My Computer system".If you've received a defective unit, IOGEAR delivers 3 year warranty and also a 24ǝ buyer support. You may get in touch with us for much more specifics and we'll be a lot more than pleased to enable you out. At least it operates on some ports. Installs drivers for four different drives. Makes use of micro SD and Olympus SD devoid of adapters. Does not function with some ports on my computer systems. I have two Supermicro servers with USB ports front and rear, both connected to the MB. This device will not function with the front ports, but operates fine with the rear ports. Does the very same with each servers, so its not the computer systems. Front ports function fine with a lot of other USB devices I have. At least it functions with some of the ports, but there is no excuse as to why it only works with the ports directly soldered to the MB. I have noticed a lot of customers complaining that these form of devices perform with some computers and not other individuals. I know these items are affordable, but I would rather spend additional for reliability. Bad ones are not worth RMA'ing. Device loads 4 drives in Explorer, but has six slots for memory cards. It is not clear what slots/cards go with what drives. I want NewEgg would stop carrying low-cost junk that doesn't perform, letting their shoppers be test fodder.

Reads a multitude of diverse cards. It will manage virtually any media that a buyer throws my way. A small slow on the transfer from a CF card (Sandisk Extreme IV four.0GB). I bought this unit to replace my current Sandisk SDDR-91 CF card reader mainly because of it's ability to read other card types. Transferring the same Nikon RAW files my Sandisk took 1m 32s. This unit took 3m 46s. Looks like I will be maintaining the old 1 about for CF cards.

Enormous capacit, and least expensive price for a microSD 16gb card. None. This card turned my blackberry in to a media powerhouse. I can load tons of music and videos on my mobile telephone with area to spare. I'd extremely advise a single of these for anybody who wants to use their mobile device to its fullest potential, just make confident your device supports SDHC.

price tag, build good quality, card varieties strange file characters When I put a microsd card from my LG telephone in the reader, I get strange hunting characters and files in the photos "my pix" folder. Some look like squares comparable to a foreign language. I've tried the reader in two computer systems with the exact same result. the sound and video folders are ok.

Reads just about every card identified to man - even had one particular employee give me a card from his smartphone (not SD) when he had job images on that.Extended cord.Size - not also big, but not smaller adequate to get lost on a cluttered desk.Appreciate the map on the back of the unit for finding these slots you don't use frequently. None I can think of. When it came time to obtain a card reader for a multi-user computer system this was a no-brainer. I'm pretty positive no 1 can mess this a single up without trying truly tough!

Value is appropriate for the number quantity of card selections! Great response time. Size is correct for my atmosphere (not too massive or tiny). I agree with the post re: sub-regular cord. I carried this with me (camera case, laptop case, etc.) - not sturdy adequate for that. It lasted only six months before cable connector gave out. My poor! Replacement card reader has a self-storing cable design.

Makes a great paper weight now. Nicely, unpacked the item and plugged it to my pc (OS: WinXP) and it did not recognize it. Plugged to laptop - also did not recognized it. Because, these were somewhat old computers with USB 1.1, decided to look for a USB 2.. In the meantime, threw away all packaging. A week later, plugged to USB two., not recognized. Darn, I consider it is a DOA - cant even RMA this factor. More than the years acquiring things from Newegg, this is my initial defective item.

I bought this to lastly get a reader that would read my 16GB+ SDHD cards from my Canon HD video camera. This reader is quick and reads anything I've attempted (CF, SD, SDHC) so far. None truly. Good and compact.

With this combo reader-hub, iogear has given us 3 *powered* USB slots for the price of 2, and that way, they've eliminated the need for an AC->DC power adapter. They even LABEL the power plug and the data/power plug. If all you need is a reader, just use the Information/POWER plug! If you need to have an added USB port, use both plugs and the unit gives USB voltage to all 3 ports. As an additional reviewer pointed out, it doesn't make coffee. It also can't iron. My wife is annoyed. Maybe an LED energy and busy light would be great. But at this value, I don't miss it. iogear usually impresses me. My first item from them was a travel mouse with a 3 position selector to manage the issue in hardware. Brilliant! Specifically since in my consulting, I am usually adding my personal mouse to a machine (I'm left handed and try not to disturb my consumers' setups.)

Very flexible I/O. This is a reader and a WRITER which tremendously improves its flexibility when compared to most of comparable devices here. it also help SDHC which is incredibly essential. The compose speeds are incredibly outstanding. I use this to compose to a 16gb microSDHC card (for a blackberry) and the compose speeds are about four-6x more rapidly than working with the blackberry to compose to the card. A small pricey. I don't know why other reviews are so down on this device. I think it has a good form aspect, and superb characteristics. I have had no troubles with it whatsoever.

It's little, it works and it feels less flimsy than the internal mount that keeps failing. It won't go get me a beer. Nicely rounded corners let it to quickly slip in my gear bag with no a lot of hassle. I would like to see more support guiding the card into alignment but this one is nonetheless far better than most that I've used.

It's a card reader at a incredibly good price. Adapter is not necessary to study the micro SD, has slot for it. Functions with out loading of any software program. Would be fantastic if it had some indicator lighting on it when card is effectively inserted. Purchased three various card readers for loved ones members Christmas gifts... received in lots time for Christmas.Like Newegg's super rapidly delivery! Manufacturer Response:Thank you for deciding on IOGEAR and suggestions. The product comes with a drive-letter recognition application. When you insert the card effectively, it will show the card icon (i.e. SD, CF or MS) below My Personal computer in your Windows OS. This also aids you to indicate the proper card slot instead of showing confusing "removable drive" icons. For further assistance, please really feel totally free to contact our consumer help at 1-866-946-4327 or e mail us: help@iogear.com.
